Hackney City Farm

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children was based in Bethnal Green in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, London. In 1996, the hospital became part of The Royal Hospitals NHS Trust, later renamed Barts and The London NHS Trust. In 1998, the services previously carried out by the hospital were transferred to the Royal London Hospital.

Haggerston Park is an open space in Haggerston, in the London Borough of Hackney. It is bounded by Whiston Road (to the north), Hackney Road (south) and St Saviour's Priory, Queensbridge Road (west) and Goldsmith's Row (east). The park was originally created in the 1950s and extended in the 1980s. It was carved out of an area of derelict housing, a tile manufacturer, and the old Shoreditch gasworks, which had been hit by a V-2 rocket in 1944 and badly damaged. Today, it occupies 6 hectares (15 acres)Haggerston Park contains a small but luxuriant nature reserve and a number of football pitches. The park, one of the few formal landscaped gardens in Hackney, was laid out in 1956. Also dating from the 1950s is a long arcade walk on the north side of the park with a mature wisteria. In the 1980s the park was extended to the south to include a Hackney City Farm, on the site of a former brewery, a children's playground and playing fields. At first, Hackney Council buildings in Haggerston Park attracted little opposition - most locals approved of a new SureStart building on the West side of the park. The long-term lease handed to Bridge Academy for the Astroturf was highly unpopular, and in 2007 the Council built a temporary school in parkland known as the Audrey Street Depot. A planning application was prepared and submitted, including a Section 106 commitment to return it to parkland a year later. The Park is within a Conservation Area, and part of the park including the Audrey St Depot is listed as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC), a designation used by local authorities in the United Kingdom for sites of substantive local natural value. The planning sub-committee approved the application but then the application was withdrawn and the Section 106 was therefore never enforced. For the following 7 years the council claimed it did not have the funds to make good on the return to parkland, and then in February 2016 it announced it was building a much larger Academy school in the same spot. The new City of London Academy is also "temporary" - for five years, and the Mayor has promised the land will be returned to parkland at the end of the period. But the signs are not good. The City of London Academy is breaching Conditions of the planning permission, despite repeated reminders from locals. On 29 July 1992, Michael Jackson landed at Haggerston Park in a helicopter with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse where he visited the children at the nearby then children's hospital Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children. The hospital has since been redeveloped into luxury flats, throwing further pressure on the park. Haggerston Park received a Green Flag award in July 2008.

Hackney Road is a London arterial route running from Shoreditch Church in London Borough of Hackney to Cambridge Heath in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The route runs along the northern edge of Bethnal Green and southern edge of Hoxton and Haggerston. It lies close to the border between the boroughs of London Boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets. In recent years, Hackney Road has begun to experience the gentrification of nearby Columbia Road or Broadway Market. Despite this, a number of derelict buildings still remain, including the empty Children's Hospital. The road also has striptease venues such as Browns and The Olde Axe (Clifton 2002), a bingo hall, fast-food outlets and building sites. Hackney City Farm is located at the junction of (intersection with) Goldsmith's Row on the northern (Hackney) side of the road. Next to the farm is Haggerston Park. In 2008 a 178-room Days Hotel London Shoreditch opened at the junction with Pritchard's Road. This has since become the RE Hotel London Shoreditch.

The Royal Oak is a Grade II listed public house at 73 Columbia Road, Bethnal Green, London, E2. It was built in 1923 for Truman's Brewery, and probably designed by their in-house architect A. E. Sewell.It was Grade II listed in 2015 by Historic England.The pub has appeared in the TV series Goodnight Sweetheart, and the 1998 film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.In July 2020, the previously independently ran pub was bought by the chain Young's.

The Premises Studios is a music studio complex based near Haggerston in Hackney, London. The studio complex contains 10 commercial rehearsal studio spaces, one acoustic recording studio, one mixing studio, and various private long-let rooms and office spaces.

St Mary, Haggerston, was an Anglican parish church built to the designs of John Nash in 1827, in what is now the London Borough of Hackney. Built in the Gothic style of its time, it had an elaborate west front with a disproportionately tall tower. The rest of the church was, in comparison, rather plain. It was altered later in the 19th century by James Brooks as the first initiative of the Haggerston Church Scheme, and destroyed by bombs during the Second World War. The site is now a children's playground west of Haggerston Park, between Thurtle Road and Queensbridge Road.

Mulberry Academy Shoreditch is a co-educational academy for students aged between 11–18 in Bethnal Green, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, East London. It has previously been called the Green Spring Academy Shoreditch, Bethnal Green Academy, Bethnal Green Technology College, Bethnal Green High School, Daneford School, and Daniel Street School.

Haggerston School (previously Haggerston Girls' School) is a 900-place school in Weymouth Terrace in Haggerston, London Borough of Hackney, England. It is a Community School and from September 2010 became a co-educational school with its own sixth form. The school is also noteworthy as a Grade II listed building, built in 1964-65 by Ernő Goldfinger, the celebrated modernist architect.

Regent Estate is a housing estate in Haggerston in the London Borough of Hackney. The estate is named in reference to the nearby Regent's Canal, which was commissioned by the Prince Regent who later became King George IV. It is adjacent to, but distinct from, the Regents Court Estate. The estate is situated between Queensbridge Road, Pownall Road, Brownlow Road and Brougham Road. It is to the south east of London Fields and adjoins Broadway Market to the west.
