Mount Lawley is an inner northern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The suburb is bounded by the Swan River to the east, Vincent, Harold and Pakenham Streets to the south, Central Avenue and Alexander Drive to the north, and Norfolk Street to the west.

The Astor Theatre is located at 659 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Western Australia. It comprises a single, two and three-storey masonry inter-war Art Deco style theatre and retail building.

RTRFM (call sign: 6RTR) is a not-for-profit, community radio station based in Perth, the state capital of Western Australia. It is self-funded, largely through listener subscription and fund-raising events. However, it does carry some "advertising material" (called sponsorship with all community broadcasters in Australia) at a maximum of 5 mins per hour. It broadcasts 24 hours a day, on 92.1 in the FM band. The name RTRFM is a contraction of "aRTy Radio". Some 309,000 people over the age of 15 listen to RTRFM in any given month; that’s around 17% of those over 15 in Perth. Regular RTRFM listeners tune in for an average of around fifteen hours a week. The programming on RTRFM is diverse and broad, providing airtime for local music, dance music, jazz, electronica, blues, classic rock, metal, indie, LGBTQIA+ news, current affairs and more.

Mount Lawley is a Transperth railway station 3.2 kilometres (2.0 mi) from Perth railway station, in Western Australia, on the Midland Line and Airport line.

The Airport line is a commuter rail service on the Transperth network, in Perth, Western Australia, that officially opened on 9 October 2022, with regular services commencing the following day. It is 25.4 kilometres (15.8 mi) long, and goes between High Wycombe and Claremont, via Perth Airport and Bayswater. The section between High Wycombe and Bayswater uses all new infrastructure, built between 2016 and 2022. In contrast, the section between Bayswater and Perth shares infrastructure with the Midland and Morley–Ellenbrook lines, and the section between Perth and Claremont with the Fremantle line. The new infrastructure between High Wycombe and Bayswater was constructed as part of the Forrestfield–Airport Link project, the purpose of which was to provide a rail service to the airport and to the areas east of the airport. It consists of 8 kilometres (5 mi) of twin-bored tunnel; the longest bored tunnels in Perth. As part of the project, three new stations were constructed, namely Redcliffe, Airport Central, and High Wycombe.

The Beaufort Street Festival was an annual community street festival in Perth, Western Australia that took place each November along Beaufort Street and other nearby streets. The event ran five times from 2010 to 2015. It ran through the suburbs of Highgate and Mount Lawley.The event consisted of various music, family, food, fashion and art programs. In 2014, over 150,000 people attended the festival, making it one of Perth's largest street festivals at that time.In 2016 the Beaufort Street Network community group who organised the event announced the festival would "take a break" given concerns around the growing numbers of people attending the event.

Jackson's was a restaurant in Highgate, an inner suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It was established in July 1998 and closed in 2014. For much of its existence, it was Perth's number one "special night out" destination. It won many awards, and was described by The New York Times as "... perhaps the town's top table, with a formidable selection of Australian wines ...".The restaurant's owner and chef, English-born Neal Jackson, served his apprenticeship at the Savoy Hotel in London, and later worked elsewhere in that city. He emigrated to Australia in 1971, and initially held various positions in restaurants around Western Australia. In 1981, he opened his first restaurant, the Anchor and Hope Inn at Donnybrook, and he was later the proprietor of Louisa's, a Bunbury restaurant "... that brought him a legion of fans, many of whom would drive from Perth to eat his dishes ...". He opened his eponymous restaurant in Perth in 1998.Signature dishes of Jackson's included rack of Amelia Park lamb with confit lamb belly and shank shepherds pie, and Turkish delight souffle with rose petal ice cream.Jackson's was the restaurant that introduced degustation menus to Western Australia. Prior to the end of August 2013, Jackson's degustation menu, nicknamed "The Dego", was a major feature of its offerings. Jackson's also had an a la carte menu, which included vegetarian dishes. Additionally, Jackson's was renowned for its wine list; its sommelier, Kjell-Ove Almeland, was named Sommelier of the Year at the Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards in 2009.Jackson's was given a two star rating, and the award for Restaurant of the Year, by The West Australian Good Food Guide 2011, and retained its two star rating for 2012, 2013, and 2014.On 26 November 2013, Neal Jackson announced that he would be retiring after a 48-year career. He was expecting to sell Jackson's restaurant some time in the first half of 2014, but also intended to pursue some other opportunities. In commenting on the changes he had observed since arriving in Western Australia 42 years earlier, he said that produce had greatly improved, but that the biggest change had been in the public's awareness of food. After receiving protests from customers about the cessation of the restaurant's degustation menu, he also said that he intended to reintroduce it for the final few months before his retirement.In July 2014, a new restaurant, St. Michael 6003, was opened on the former Jackson's site.

The Albany Bell Castle is a heritage-listed building at the corner of Guildford Road and Thirlmere Road in the Perth suburb of Mount Lawley. It was built in 1914 for the catering company Albany Bell Ltd as a factory to manufacture cakes and confectionery for its eleven tearooms in Perth and three in Kalgoorlie and Boulder. The site chosen was 19 acres (77,000 m2) of land two miles (3 km) from Perth, with natural springs that could supply 100,000 gallons of fresh water per day. The company's founder, Peter Albany Bell, used ideas derived from the Cadbury factory in Bournville United Kingdom, to incorporate superior working conditions and amenities for employees.

St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital is a 205-bed private hospital located on the banks of the Swan River in Mount Lawley, Western Australia. Established in 1937, the hospital was initially known as St Anne's Hospital and then became Mercy Hospital in 1996. In November 2013 St John of God Health Care purchased the hospital and subsequently changed the name to St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital is a division of St John of God Health Care.

Highgate is an inner metro suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Vincent and north of the central business district of Perth. Highgate was named for the village of Highgate, Hawkhurst in Kent, England. Highgate is the smallest suburb in the Perth metropolitan region, with an area of just 0.4 km2 (0.2 sq mi). Among the landmarks of the area is the Lincoln Street Vent, a disused Art Deco sewerage vent, designed by Russell Dumas and completed in 1935, alongside the disused Highgate Hill Police Station (which is also the site of a proposed police museum). The vent, which proved to be a "white elephant", was secretly used as an antenna base by the Police Wireless Service during World War II. St Mark's International College, an English as a second language (ESL) school operated between 1989 and 2010, at 375 Stirling Street, on the corner of Harold Street. The St Mark's buildings were constructed from 1936, as a Catholic Christian Brothers boys' high school. This was known as CBHS Highgate until 1978, when it merged with St Mark's in Bedford (previously CBHS Bedford) and received that school's students. The name of the school was changed to St Mark's College Highgate in 1982. St Mark's was closed and sold several years later, when all students were transferred to Chisholm College, in Bedford. St Mark's re-development into an apartment complex was completed in 2013.The suburb has two primary schools: Sacred Heart (a Catholic school) and Highgate Primary School (the second oldest government primary school in the state). Highgate Primary School has students from over 50 different nationalities and backgrounds. The school also has a highly successful chess team and rock band. Highgate Primary participates actively in local sporting events and teaches the Indonesian language as a special LOTE.

The Public Transport Centre (formerly known as the Westrail Centre) is a terminal and administration building for public transport in Perth, Western Australia. It is the centerpiece of East Perth Terminal (formerly known as Perth Terminal), a standard gauge railway station and coach terminal adjacent to East Perth station on the Transperth narrow gauge suburban rail network.
