Naivas Supermarket, often referred to simply as "Naivas", is the largest supermarket chain in Kenya, with 84 outlets as of June 2022. A that time, Naivas was the largest supermarket chain in Kenya, ahead of Quick Mart Limited with 51 outlets in the country.

The African Airlines Association ( French: Association des Compagnies Aériennes Africaines), abbreviated AFRAA, is a trade association of African airlines. AFRAA was founded in Accra, Ghana, in 1968, and is, as of February 2021, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The primary purpose of AFRAA is to establish and facilitate co-operation between African airlines.The formation of the African Airlines Association was the result of historic developments and economic imperatives. In the early 1960s, a great number of African States acceded to independence and created their own national airlines. Most of these airlines became members of the International Air Transport Association. AFRAA had its conceptual beginning in 1963, when a number of African airlines, taking the opportunity provided by the IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) began holding consultation meetings prior to the IATA AGMs to discuss matters of interest to African airlines and to adopt common positions. This was the first step towards the creation of AFRAA. From that first step in Rome in 1963, the establishment in 1968 in Accra, of a regional organisation for the articulation of regional views and promotion of co-operation was undertaken by 14 founding members.

Mukuru is a collection of slums in the city of Nairobi. It is approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) south of the central business district of Nairobi. It is one of the largest slums in Nairobi. It stretches along the Nairobi–Ngong River, situated on waste lands in the industrial area of the city between the Outering Ring Road, North Airport Road and Mombasa Road. Mukuru is among other major slums in Nairobi such: Korogocho, Kibera and Mathare. Mukuru comprises the Mukuru kwa Reuben, Mukuru kwa Njenga, Sinai, Paradise, Jamaica, Kingstone, Mariguini, Fuata Nyayo and Kayaba villages.

The Highway Secondary is a public boys' boarding school located in Nairobi's South B suburb, Kenya. The school is named for the Mombasa Highway that runs along the school's southern perimeter. The school is classified as a County school.

Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited, commonly referred to as KETRACO, is a wholly-owned parastatal of the Government of Kenya which serves as the primary Transmission System Operator in the Republic of Kenya.

The National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK), is a state corporation of Kenya founded by Act of Parliament in 1981, with a mandate of participating in all aspects of the Kenyan petroleum industry. The company was incorporated in 1981 and began operations in 1984.

On 5 March 2024, Safarilink Aviation Flight 053, a De Havilland Canada Dash 8 en route from Wilson Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, to Ukunda Airport, Kenya, collided after takeoff with a Cessna 172M training flight operated by 99 Flying School over Nairobi National Park. The Dash 8 returned to Wilson Airport and landed safely with all 44 aboard unharmed, but the Cessna crashed in the national park, killing both occupants.

The 2011 Nairobi pipeline fire was caused by an explosion secondary to a fuel spill in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on 12 September 2011. Approximately 100 people were killed in the fire and at least 116 others were hospitalized with varying degrees of burns. The incident was not the first such pipeline accident in Kenya, with the Molo fire of 2009 resulting in at least 133 fatalities and hundreds more injured.

South B is an estate based in Makadara Division in Nairobi, Kenya. It consists of middle class houses ranging from the tiled roofed Plainsview Estate to the metal roofed Mariakani Estate. also it has Diamond Park I and Diamond Park II Estate in likoni road, It is famed for its number 11 matatus (Minibuses - Public Transport PSVs). It has a shopping centre and Capital centre Mall. The houses there are in high demand due to its closeness to the Nairobi Central Business District. South B is located north of the South C estate.South B has other housing communities ranging from stand alone houses and high rise apartments such as Balozi, Hazina, SanaSana, Golden Gate, Sore Drive, Githeri Drive and Rise. Famous health facilities in the area include The Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Mariakani Cottage Hospital, South B Hospital and South B Dental Care. South B hosts a number of educational institutions from tertiary, high school and primary schools. Among the top of the list are Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), Nairobi South Primary, Our Lady Queen of Peace Secondary School and Our Lady of Mercy Primary School. The Mariakani Cottage Hospital is located in South B. South B is also home to the Winners' Chapel church which is the largest church span in East and Central Africa at the time of writing (04/06/2015). Highway Secondary School is in South B.

South C (also known as Southside or South Compton) is a middle-class residential estate located in the southland area of Nairobi. South C lies next to Wilson Airport. It is bordered by South B to the East, Langata Estate to the west and the Nairobi National Park to the south. South C also has great schools such as Andalucia academy, Kinderworld academy, Shree cutchi leva patel (Samaj), Shree cutchi satsang (swaminarayan), Nairobi Muslim girls boarding. The headquarters of the Kenya Red Cross Society is located in South C as is the Criminal Investigation Department (C.I.D) Training School of the Kenya Police, National Environmental Management Authority Headquarters (NEMA), Kenya National Bureau of Standards Head office (KEBS) and the expansive Toyota Training Academy. Major colleges like the College of Insurance and Management University of Africa are also based in South C. South C is home to several sports clubs and hotels. The clubs include The South C Sports Club, Ministry of Works (MOW) Sports Club, Kenya Motor Sports Club, and the Ngara Sports Club. The Ngara Sport Club cricket ground is located in South C. Some of the hotels in South C are The Boma, The Red Court Hotel, Ole Sereni and Eka Hotel A drive-in outdoor cinema, one among few in Kenya, is located at Nairobi's South C along Mombasa Road at Bellevue. A number of musicians, comedians and DJs in Kenya's music industry come from the South C. Nameless, E-Sir, Longombas and K-rupt live there.South C has recently become famous among residents of St. Louis, Missouri for being the birthplace of Martin Sophia, owner of the production company Martin's Entertainment.

Kware is a slum neighbourhood in Embakasi in the city of Nairobi. Located within the larger Eastlands area of Nairobi, it is approximately 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) east of the central business district. It borders the Mukuru slums and Initially Kware was predominantly an informal settlement but over the years part Kware and Pipeline have earned a reputation for their poor infrastructure, coupled with overcrowded flats, narrow streets, littering, as well as its poor drainage system.

Ofafa is a southeastern neighborhood of Nairobi, Kenya in a low income, high-density area generally known as the Eastlands. Politically it belongs to Makadara Constituency. In the mid-1950s the Quakers erected a building in Ofafa to act as a hub for individual craftspeople making and selling furniture. It is also known for its Jericho school. Early housing estates there were part of Erica Mann's planning work in the 1940s and 1950s. The Ofafa Jerusalem scheme created two-storey blocks of maisonettes that were connected to the electrical supply, had an internal water supply and sanitation, and were surrounded by ample open space. The 1950s Ofafa Jericho estate was built in a similar style but now houses about 50,000 people: five times more than it was intended for. People are living in poor quality iron sheet extensions and water and waste management are inadequate.Ofafa was named after Ambrose Ofafa, a prominent politician who received a Colonial Service award on the 1953 Coronation Honours list, and was murdered in November of the same year.
