Passaic County Community College

The Paterson Public Schools (PPS) is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Paterson, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The district is one of 31 former Abbott districts statewide that were established pursuant to the decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Abbott v. Burke which are now referred to as "SDA Districts" based on the requirement for the state to cover all costs for school building and renovation projects in these districts under the supervision of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of 50 schools, had an enrollment of 25,937 students and 1,916.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.5:1. For the 2014–15 school year, the district anticipated a budget with total expenditures of $591 million and per pupil spending of $16,696.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "A", the lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Among the 594 students who took the SAT in 2013, the mean combined score was 1120 and there were 19 students (3.2% of those taking the exam) who achieved the combined score of 1550 that the College Board considers an indicator of college readiness, a decline from the 26 students (4.3%) who achieved the standard the previous year.District enrollment in Paterson surged at the start of the 2015–16 school year, creating a public school enrollment of 700 students higher than expected and putting the school district in a situation of needing to hire teachers rapidly not long after the district had laid off 300 positions.

Al-Huda School was an Islamic school located in Paterson, New Jersey. Al-Huda School officially closed down in 2014.The school served students in grades PreK-12. As of the 2009–10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 104 students (plus 12 in pre-K) and 11.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 9.0:1.

Paterson is a New Jersey Transit commuter railway station located on an elevated viaduct above Market Street in downtown Paterson, New Jersey. The railway through the station is double tracked, for north and south traffic on the NJT Main Line.

It is located with the city's urban enterprise zone, which permits merchants to charge half of the state's general sales tax rate (from 6.625% to 3.3125%).Among shops are Marshalls, Burlington, The Children's Place, AT&T, PSEG, TD Bank, PriceRite and other shops and restaurants. It includes the eight-screen cinema, the Fabian 8, on the upper level. Hamilton and Ward is a restaurant located with the mall The mall has struggled to retain tenants within the city with a population with limited buying power.Various proposals have been put forth to expand the mall including a roof-top sports arena and underground parking using state credits. The redevelopers of the mall have also proposed a hotel.

Danforth Memorial Library, also known as the Paterson Free Public Library, is located at 250 Broadway in the city of Paterson in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. The library was built in 1905 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 1, 1984, for its significance in architecture, education, and social history.The Library houses the city's art collection, mostly of painting 19th century paintings donated to the city.

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is a historic Catholic cathedral and parish church located in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paterson. The cathedral was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The Broadway Bus Terminal is a major local and regional bus terminal in Paterson, New Jersey operated by New Jersey Transit. It is located on Broadway between Memorial Drive and West Broadway in Downtown Paterson, putting it near Passaic County Community College and a few blocks from Paterson City Hall and the Great Falls Historic District, including the Great Falls (Passaic River).

The Diocese of Paterson (Latin: Dioecesis Patersonensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in northern New Jersey. It is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Newark. The patrons of the diocese are Saint Patrick and John the Baptist.
