The 1969 World Cup took place 2–5 October at Singapore Island Country Club in Singapore. It was the 17th World Cup event. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 45 teams. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The American team of Orville Moody and Lee Trevino won by eight strokes over the Japan team of Takaaki Kono and Haruo Yasuda. This was the tenth victory for the United States in the history of the World Cup, until 1967 named the Canada Cup. The individual competition was won by Trevino one stroke ahead of Roberto De Vicenzo, Argentina.

Saint Patrick's School is a government-aided Lasallian Catholic boys' secondary school located along East Coast Road, Singapore. It is more commonly referred to as St Pat's, SPS or St Patrick's. Students and old boys call themselves Patricians or Sons of St. Patrick's.

Windsor Nature Park is a nature park in Singapore. It opened on 22 April 2017. The park forms a green buffer zone between Central Catchment Nature Reserve and the urbanized areas of Singapore. The park contains three hiking trails and a canopy walkway.Several species of birds live in Windsor Nature Park, including the greater racket-tailed drongo. Mammals living in the park include the endangered Sunda pangolin. A group of bachelor Raffles' banded langur monkeys also lives in the park.

Arcadia Road is secondary road in Singapore which was designated as a heritage road in 2005. Starting at a junction of Adam Road, it extends for 918 metres before ending. The road is lined with rain trees and is known for its lush greenery.Prior to the construction of the Pan Island Expressway, Arcadia Road existed as a curving track between the neighbouring hills. It connected users to the paths behind the Eng Neo private estate. The present road skirts past the colonial era Adam Park Estate. It is located amidst the secondary forest near the MacRitchie Reservoir. In 2005, the road was gazetted as a heritage road, which earmarkes a 10 metre wide green buffer (on the sides of the road) for conservation.The sides of the road are lined with mature rain trees as well as condominiums like Hillcrest Arcadia and The Arcadia.

Bukit Brown Cemetery, also known as the Bukit Brown Municipal Cemetery or the Bukit Brown Chinese Cemetery, was a cemetery in Singapore. It opened in 1922 and acted as a Chinese burial ground until its closure in 1973. Bukit Brown Cemetery is the largest Chinese cemetery outside of China and is also the location of many of Singapore's earliest pioneers.

MacRitchie Reservoir is Singapore's oldest reservoir. The reservoir was completed in 1868 by impounding water from an earth embankment, and was then known as the Impounding Reservoir or Thomson Reservoir.

Lim Bo Seng (Chinese: 林谋盛; pinyin: Lín Móushèng; 27 April 1909 – 29 June 1944) was a Chinese resistance fighter based in Singapore and Malaya during World War II. Before the outbreak of World War II, he was a prominent businessman among the Chinese community in Singapore. When the Second Sino-Japanese War broke out, he participated in anti-Japanese activities in Malaya and Singapore. During Japanese occupation of Malaya and Singapore, he was tasked to establish Force 136, a guerrilla task force backed by Special Operations Executive (SOE). However, he was captured by Japanese forces and died while interned. He is remembered as a war hero in Singapore and Malaysia.

Thomson Plaza, formerly unofficially called Thomson Yaohan, is a suburban shopping mall located along Upper Thomson Road, in Singapore. Opened in 1979, Thomson Plaza is best known for having a Yaohan departmental store in the 1980s and 1990s.

Upper Thomson MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Thomson–East Coast line (TEL) in Singapore. Its location is Thomson. As the name suggests, it is located along Upper Thomson Road. The five entrances of the station serve various developments such as Soo Chow Estate, Thomson Plaza and the Church of the Holy Spirit. First announced in August 2012 as part of the Thomson line (TSL), the station was constructed as part of TEL Phase 2 (TEL2) with the merger of the TSL and the Eastern Region line (ERL). The station's construction required multiple traffic diversions along Upper Thomson Road along with a canal. Opening on 28 August 2021 along with the TEL2 stations, Upper Thomson station features Lost In Our (Concrete) Jungle by Troy Chin as part of the Art-in-Transit programme.

National Junior College (NJC) is a government junior college located in Bukit Timah, Singapore. Established in 1969, it was the first government junior college in Singapore. NJC offers a two-year course for pre-university students and a six-year Integrated Programme, both leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations.

Turf City MRT station is a future underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Cross Island line (CRL) located in Bukit Timah, Singapore. First announced in September 2022, the station is expected to be completed in 2032 along with the other CRL Phase 2 stations.
