Ravensburg

Ravensburg University of Cooperative Education is a public university with campuses in Ravensburg, Stuttgart and Friedrichshafen, Germany. It offers vocational studies in the fields of business sciences, engineering and media design. The school works with more than 1100 partner companies to provide students with simultaneous job contracts and formal education. Furthermore, they offer Masters programs since October 2011, e.g. Master in Business Management. It is part of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University System.

Weissenau Abbey (German: Kloster Weißenau, Reichsstift Weißenau) was an Imperial abbey (Reichsabtei) of the Holy Roman Empire located near Ravensburg in the Swabian Circle. The abbey, a Premonstratensian monastery, was an Imperial Estate and therefore its abbot had seat and vote in the Reichstag as a prelate of the Swabian Bench. The abbey existed from 1145 until the secularisation of 1802-1803.

Weingarten (German pronunciation: [ˈvaɪ̯nˌɡaʁtn̩] , German for "wine garden"; Low Alemannic: Wãẽgaade) is a town with a population of 25,000 (as of 2020) in Württemberg, in the District of Ravensburg, in the valley of the Schussen River. Together with the southern neighbour cities of Ravensburg and Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance (Bodensee), it forms one of 14 medium-sized infrastructural centres in Baden-Württemberg. The town is seat of the University of Applied Sciences of Ravensburg-Weingarten (Hochschule Ravensburg-Weingarten) and of the Teachers' College of Weingarten (Pädagogische Hochschule Weingarten).

Weingarten Abbey or St. Martin's Abbey (German: Reichsabtei Weingarten until 1803, then merely Abtei Weingarten) is a Benedictine monastery on the Martinsberg (St. Martin's Mount) in Weingarten near Ravensburg in Baden-Württemberg (Germany).

Ottmar Hörl (born 1950 in Nauheim, Germany) is a German conceptual artist, sculptor, installation, action, photography, and object artist. He achieved worldwide popularity due to his radical, avant-garde art concepts as well as large-scale projects featuring serial sculptures in public spaces, based on his distinctive definition of sculpture as an organisational principle. He is considered an "offensive and direct strategist campaigning for a new type of public art" and the most successful artist creating multiples, an artist implementing his vision of art for everyone and promoting the democratisation of sculpture like no other so far. His important contributions in the field of fine arts have earned him several awards, the latest of which, the CREO Innovation Award, was granted by the German Society for Creativity (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kreativität e. V.) and presented to Hörl at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 2015. Since 1999, Hörl has held a chair as professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg, and has been the Academy's president since 2005. Moreover, he is a founding member of the group Formalhaut. Ottmar Hörl lives and works in Wertheim, Frankfurt am Main and Nuremberg.
