Most (city)

SaS group Tower (formerly: SHD Komes) is a high-rise in Most, Czech Republic. With a height of 96 metres it is the tallest building in Ústí nad Labem Region and the fourth tallest building in the Czech Republic. Construction of the building commenced in 1977 and finished in 1984. The building was used as the headquarters of Severočeské hnědouhelné doly. This company was one of the largest producers of brown coal in Czechoslovakia. After 1989, SD-Comes a.s. became the new owner of the building. In 2012, the owner SD - KOMES a.s. sold the building for CZK 73.5 million to SaS ENERGO s.r.o.

Fotbalový stadion Josefa Masopusta is a multi-use stadium in Most, Czech Republic. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Baník Most. The stadium has an all-seated capacity of 7,500 people.

Hněvín (German: Landeswarte) is a castle in Most in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic.

The Battle of Brüx was fought on 5 August 1421 in North Bohemia during the Hussite Wars. The Hussite troops, led by Jan Želivský, were defeated by the Catholic Imperial forces of Frederick I of Saxony.

The Chanov housing projects on the outskirts of Most in the Ústí nad Labem Region were built by the Czechoslovak Communist authorities in the late 1970s as a means of housing much of the Romani population that resided in the old royal city of Most. The city was demolished during the 1970s and 1980s to extract the brown coal deposits that lay underneath. The reconstruction of the city and the necessity to relocate the Romani population gave the Communist authorities an opportunity to attempt "to transform all inhabitants into productive and modern socialist citizens". The Communists believed that moving the Roma into modern housing would end behaviour that the Communists considered uncivilised, and resolve the "Gypsy problem".The Chanov housing is these days perceived by many Czechs as among the worst examples of ghettoization of the Czech Romani population and has been described as "the housing estate of horror", "a hygienic timebomb", "a black stain" and the "Czech Bronx".

Autodrom Most is a hard-surfaced 4.212 km (2.617 mi) long race track for motorsport outside of the city of Most in the northwest of the Czech Republic. The racing circuit was built between 1978 and 1983, but the Most district was known for organizing motorcycle and car races earlier. Autodrome is used for races of cars, trucks, motorcycles and free circuit rides, but also for test rides of developed cars, training of drivers of fire engines, ambulance and police cars, as well as training of drivers in crisis situations, etc. In April 2021, the Most round was announced as being added into the Superbike World Championship series with a five-year agreement.In August 2021, Autodrom Most was announced as one of the replacement circuits for the WTCR in the 2021 season; and in November 2021, it was announced that Autodrom Most would be permanently included in the 2022 race calendar. But on 19 March 2022, it was announced that Czech round was cancelled due to the state of emergency and logistical issues.

Polerady lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) south of Most, 37 km (23 mi) south-west of Ústí nad Labem, and 67 km (42 mi) north-west of Prague.

Havraň (German: Hawran) is a municipality and village in Most District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 600 inhabitants. Havraň lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south-west of Most, 40 km (25 mi) south-west of Ústí nad Labem, and 71 km (44 mi) north-west of Prague.
