Dowagiac station

Dowagiac ( də-WAH-jak, də-WAH-zhak) is a city in Cass County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 5,721 at the 2020 census. It is part of the South Bend-Mishawaka metropolitan area. Dowagiac is situated at the corner of four townships: Wayne Township to the northeast, LaGrange Township to the southeast, Pokagon Township to the southwest, and Silver Creek Township to the northwest. The city name comes from the Potawatomi word dewje'og meaning "fishing [near home] water". Dowagiac is the headquarters of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and is also contained within the reservation.

The Criffield-Whiteley House is a private house located at 601 Main Street in Dowagiac, Michigan, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016 and was designated a Michigan Historic Site in 2019.

Four Winds Dowagiac is a 27,000-square-foot (2,500 m2) casino in Dowagiac, Michigan which opened on April 30, 2013. It is one of the Four Winds Casinos, which are all owned and operated by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. The design of the casino was inspired by the traditions of the Potawatomi people.

Southwestern Michigan College is a public community college with its main campus near Dowagiac, Michigan. It also has a campus just outside the city limits of Niles, Michigan.

Dowagiac Municipal Airport (FAA LID: C91) is a public airport owned and operated by the City of Dowagiac located 1m (1.6 km) northwest of Dowagiac, Michigan, United States. The uncontrolled airport is used for general aviation purposes. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a local general aviation facility. The airport is used largely by personal pilots, but it also gets significant traffic from crop-dusting aircraft spraying nearby fields. Local officials say the airport helps generate tourism, especially during the summer months. Additionally, radio-controlled aircraft operations are permitted on the southeast side of runway 04/22. In 2020, the airport was announced as a finalist to become the hub of Michigan's space launch network, though it was eventually ruled out. The airport is home to a chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), which hosts pancake breakfasts, fly-ins, and other events at the airport. The airport is home to a variety of general aviation pilots as well as flight schools that offer flight training year-round.

WHPD (92.1 MHz) is an FM radio station licensed to Dowagiac, Michigan. WHPZ (96.9 MHz) is an FM radio station licensed to Bremen, Indiana. WHME (103.1 MHz) is an FM radio station licensed to South Bend, Indiana. The three stations are known as "Pulse FM" and they simulcast a Contemporary Christian radio format. They are owned by LeSEA Broadcasting, part of the Family Broadcasting Corporation, started by evangelist Lester Sumrall. LeSEA stands for the Lester Sumrall Evangelistic Association. Pulse FM serves the Michiana region of Michigan and Indiana, including South Bend and Elkhart. All three stations are licensed for HD Radio operations and feature a Christian talk and teaching format on their HD2 side channels known as "Harvest," continuing the format formerly heard on WHME before it began to simulcast its sister stations in 2018.

Silver Creek Township is a civil township of Cass County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,051 at the 2020 census.

The First Methodist Episcopal Church of Pokagon (also known as the Old Rugged Cross Church) is a historic church at 61041 Vermont Street in Pokagon Township, Michigan. It is the location of the first performance of the hymn "The Old Rugged Cross." The church was listed as a Michigan State Historic Site in 2000 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Indian Lake is a lake in Cass County in southwestern Michigan in the United States. It is approximately 5 mi (8.0 km) west of Dowagiac. It is a spring-fed lake. The lake was named for Indians who once settled there. There are approximately 220 homes on the lake, of which a third are on leased land. On the west side is Indian Lake Hills Golf Course, with 3 nine-hole courses: East, West and North. On the east end there is Indian Yacht Club, with a well-maintained boat ramp. Membership is required to use the ramp.

WGTO (branded as "97.1 & 910 MeTV FM") is a radio station broadcasting a soft oldies format. It is licensed to Cassopolis, Michigan, broadcasting on AM 910 kHz and is under ownership of Langford Broadcasting. Much of the programming comes from MeTV FM.

LaGrange Township is a civil township of Cass County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,500 at the 2010 census.
