Great Crossing High School is a public high school in Georgetown, Kentucky, United States that opened in August 2019. It is operated by Scott County Schools (SCS), which oversees all public K–12 education in Scott County, Kentucky. The school bears the name of the former Great Crossing School, which opened in 1939 and was in turn named for one of the Georgetown area's first settlements, established at a buffalo crossing of Elkhorn Creek. The original Great Crossing School housed a high school program until the county's high schools were consolidated into Scott County High School, also in Georgetown, in 1955. The building continued to serve as a school until Western Elementary School opened in 1993, and now houses the SCS central office.SCS had planned to build a new high school in the 1990s, but never followed through on those plans until the last half of the 2010s. By that time, overcrowding at Scott County High, the only public high school in the county, had reached crisis proportions. During the last half of the 2010s, Scott County was the fastest-growing county in Kentucky, and was projected to have more than 3,000 high school students by the 2020–21 school year. With this in mind, the school district approved construction of the new school, breaking ground in 2017. It is located about 1 mile (1.6 km) away from Scott County High and also adjacent to Elkhorn Crossing School, previously a detached campus of Scott County High.The school cost about $90 million, and opened before it was 100% complete; the only parts yet to be completed were a welding classroom and a performing arts auditorium. Construction was plagued by unusually wet weather, with 247 rain days during the project.The new school was built with space for over 1,900 students, but opened with about 1,450. Initially, SCS announced that all rising juniors and seniors for 2019–20 at Scott County High could remain at that school if they wished. Additionally, any siblings of these students who were set to attend an SCS high school would also be allowed to attend Scott County High. SCS later changed the plan to allow all students who were set to attend high school in the district to choose which school they would attend, and about 55% chose Great Crossing.

Elkwood in Georgetown, Kentucky, also known as the Sabret and Nancy Payne Offut House, is a stone house built in c.1810. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.Modifications in the 1860s or 1870s added two dormers and a central gable, and lengthened four windows. A one-story Victorian porch was added but later was removed.It is associated with John Payne (1764-1837), one of Scott County's earliest settlers and a brigadier general in the War of 1812.It is not far from the John Payne House, also listed on the National Register.

The Payne-Desha House is a historic house located on land west of Royal Spring Branch near downtown Georgetown, Kentucky, USA that was built in 1814 by Robert Payne, a Kentucky war hero from the Battle of the Thames. Also, the house was the last residence of Joseph Desha, the ninth governor of Kentucky.The property was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on December 2, 1974.

Cardome Centre is a historic property located in Georgetown, Kentucky along the north fork of Elkhorn Creek. The 87 acres (35 ha) is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Lexington and currently houses St. John Catholic School. Previously the property was home to several famous people including Kentucky Governor James F. Robinson. More recently the site was the location of a girl's academy. It previously served as a community center for the city of Georgetown, but was purchased by the Catholic Diocese of Lexington in 2019.

Yuko-En on the Elkhorn, the official Kentucky-Japan Friendship Garden, is located in Georgetown, Kentucky on the north fork of Elkhorn Creek. The 6-acre (24,000 m2) garden is designed to have the appearance of a Japanese style strolling garden.

Scott County Jail Complex located in Georgetown, Kentucky served as the Scott County jail from 1892 until 1990. Currently, the building houses the Scott County Arts & Cultural Center. The building is designated a Kentucky Landmark. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The Jailer's Dwelling, built in 1892, is a brick Italianate-style two-story three-bay building on stone foundation. It is 44 by 21 feet (13.4 m × 6.4 m) in plan, not including an ell which extends an additional 18 feet (5.5 m) to the rear.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (also known as the Church of the Holy Trinity) is an Episcopal Church located in Georgetown, Kentucky.

First African Baptist Church and Parsonage is an historically significant church building and an associated parsonage located in the United States on West Jefferson Avenue in Georgetown, Kentucky. In 1842, First Baptist Church moved from their West Jefferson location to a site closer to Georgetown College on College and Hamilton Streets. The church's previous building and property were leased to local black Baptists so a new congregation solely for blacks could be formed. The current building was constructed in 1870. The buildings were added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The South Broadway Neighborhood District is a historic residential area and historic district located near downtown Georgetown, Kentucky. The neighborhood was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1991.It is 93.4 acres (37.8 ha) in size. It includes the 149 contributing buildings, 67 contributing structures, and a contributing site. It includes four separately NRHP-listed properties: Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Branham House, Cantrill House, and Garth School.

Old Friends is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) equine retirement facility in Georgetown, Kentucky, accredited by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA). The organization started with one leased paddock and two horses, but now owns 136 acres, Dreamchase Farm, with additional leased pasturage. It is the only Thoroughbred retirement facility in the United States that accepts stallions on a regular basis. Old Friends is currently home to over 150 retired Thoroughbred athletes.

The Branham House is residential dwelling located in the South Broadway Neighborhood Historic District in Georgetown, Kentucky. The property was individually listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1973.It is the oldest house in the City of Georgetown, which was incorporated in 1790, and was probably built in the 1790s. It is a two-story three-bay brick house, on a stone foundation, with some frame elements. Its Greek Revival front portico was added later.
