Garderen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Barneveld, in the forests of the Veluwe. The village has 1,994 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2008). Garderen was a separate municipality until 1818, when it was merged with Barneveld.

Elspeet is a tourist village in the Netherlands, in the Veluwe region, in the municipality of Nunspeet, Gelderland, Netherlands. The village is situated about 10 kilometers south of Nunspeet and about 4 kilometers north of Uddel, on the Northern Veluwe. It is surrounded by forest and heather. The village has 4,635 inhabitants. The origin of the name Elspeet isn't entirely clear. El is thought to be referring to the word old and speet (spaded)i .e. to its older reclamation: ground first spaded over, as distinct from Nunspeet where this came later. Elspeet is a conservative Protestant village. In the 2006 municipal elections, 70 percent of the local population voted for the Reformed Political Party (SGP). The three Christian parties in the elections (the Reformed Political Party, the Christian Union and the Christian Democratic Appeal) had a combined total of almost 90 percent of the votes.

Staverden is a city in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Ermelo, about 5 kilometres east of Ermelo. It received city rights in 1298. With 30 inhabitants, it is today the smallest place with that traditional title in the Netherlands. It is also officially the smallest city in the Benelux region.

Speuld is a hamlet in the municipality of Ermelo in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. It was first mentioned in 1313 as Arnoldus de Spelde, and means hill with wood similar to the English Speldhurst. The postal authorities have placed it under Ermelo. In 1840, it was home to 83 people.

Kootwijk (West Low German: Kodek) (population estimate: 280) is a small village in the municipality Barneveld, located in the middle of the Netherlands, in the province of Gelderland.

Stroe is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Barneveld, between the towns of Barneveld and Apeldoorn.Stroe is located on the railway line between these two towns, but the railway station closed in 1944.

Drie is a hamlet in the municipality of Ermelo in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. Drie, near Ermelo and Speuld, is situated in the forest. It was first mentioned in 855 as Thri, and probably means three houses. It is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Ermelo. In 1840, it was home to 28 people. Nowadays it has a handful of houses.

Assel is a hamlet in the municipality of Apeldoorn in the Netherlands, located close to the village of Hoog Soeren. It was first mentioned in 814 or 815 as Hasle. The etymology is unclear. It is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Hoog Soeren. It consists of about 10 houses.Assel is located roughly 12 kilometres west of Apeldoorn. Assel is a hamlet comprising twelve houses, a burial site, a chapel (the chapel of the Holy Spirit), a camping site and a restaurant. In the past Assel was known for iron mining. Assel used to have its own train station. This station was built because prince Hendrik had his private hunting area in Assel, known as the Kroondomein (Crown land). Nowadays Assel does not have access to public transport, although the railway Amersfoort - Deventer runs through the hamlet.

Radio Kootwijk is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Apeldoorn. It is situated in a heather and forest rich territory in the Veluwe region, east of the sandhills of the Kootwijkerzand and the town of Kootwijk. Radio Kootwijk has a combined statistical listing with Hoog Soeren, the hamlet consists of about 37 houses. The village is known for its iconic radio transmitter.

Harskamp is a village in the municipality of Ede in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. It was first mentioned in 1333 as Hoerscampe, and means "horse camp". In 1840, it was home to 268 people. In 1896, a shooting range was built in the village which turned in to the military base Harskamp. The Rehoboth Church was built in 1928.

Kootwijkerbroek is a village in the Netherlands, on the Veluwe, in the municipality of Barneveld, Gelderland, Netherlands. The village, situated in the Gelderland Valley, east of Barneveld, has a major agricultural role in this part of the valley with most of the 157 companies located in Kootwijkerbroek involved in agriculture and industry. Kootwijkerbroek is an old village just between Kootwijk and Barneveld, with many generations traditionally involved in milling. The last mill burnt down in 1964, however it was rebuilt in 2015. On the edge of the village, there is a church with a beautiful old vicarage surrounded by an attractive garden park with ponds. Kootwijkerbroek is a conservative Protestant village, located on the Dutch Bible Belt. In the 2010 municipal elections, 52 percent of the local population voted for the Reformed Political Party (SGP). The three Christian parties in the elections (the Reformed Political Party, the ChristianUnion and the Christian Democratic Appeal) had a combined total of almost 70 percent of the votes. Many of the socio demographic indicators reflect the conservative nature of the community, with relatively larger household families with young children and low divorce rates.Hundreds of farmers protested in 2001 in the village of Kootwijkerbroek. They tried to prevent the slaughter of healthy cattle as a result of foot-and-mouth disease restrictions. The farmers never accepted the verdict by the authorities that the disease had spread to the 'Teunissen' farm, as the alleged outbreak never spread beyond the suspected veal calf operation. In every other outbreak location in 2001, other surrounding farms were infected with animals showing evidence of the infection. The blockade involved about 200 farmers and was the largest protest related to the foot-and-mouth epidemic in the Netherlands.

Hacking at Random was an outdoor hacker conference that took place in the Netherlands from August 13 to August 16, 2009. It was situated on a large camp-site near the small town Vierhouten in the Netherlands called the Paasheuvel.This conference was the second most recent event in a sequence that began with the Galactic Hacker Party in 1989, followed by Hacking at the End of the Universe in 1993, Hacking In Progress in 1997, Hackers At Large in 2001, and What the Hack in 2005, and succeeded by Observe. Hack. Make. in 2013. Pre-event announcement by a Hackaday contributor "Eliot" stated it was brought by the same people as What the Hack 2005.Like the previous Dutch hacker cons this event thrived by using its volunteers, and called everyone including the visitor sponsors a volunteer. Everyone was expected to do their part in making the event a success. With over 170 talks and 3 large lecture halls, this edition was by far the largest in the series of quadrennial Dutch events. The special side tents offering off-the-tracks program added to the open atmosphere which was manly driven by mixing technology, art and social aspects together. A custom camp currency (being copy-cat'ed using 3D printers), illuminated flying objects at night and lock picking contests during the day where accompanied by techno-DJs generating baselines from raw-network modulation data.
