Las Olas Boulevard

The Riverside Hotel is a historic luxury hotel located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on the New River, adjacent to the Stranahan House, on Las Olas Boulevard. The hotel was built in 1925 and opened in 1936. It is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Fort Lauderdale and is one of the oldest hotels in Broward County. In 2002, the hotel underwent a major renovation, doubling the number of rooms.

The New River Tunnel, officially known as the Henry E. Kinney Tunnel, is a highway tunnel that carries U.S. Route 1 underneath the New River and Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The tunnel replaced the Federal Aid Highway Bridge, a drawbridge opened on August 26, 1926, and closed in 1958. Upon its completion in 1960, it was the only operating public tunnel in Florida, until the completion of the Port of Miami Tunnel in 2014, though two private tunnels exist at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista. Alfred Spear built the New River Tunnel. His business, the Thorington Construction Company of Providence, R.I., was responsible for the construction of the project.The tunnel was built after a lengthy debate on whether to construct another bridge or a tunnel. The predecessor drawbridge operated so slowly that it sometimes took motorists 45 minutes to cross from one end of the bridge to the other, creating massive traffic jams in the heart of the city.In 1986 it was renamed in honor of Henry E. Kinney, who had advocated its construction while he was chief of the Fort Lauderdale/Broward Edition of the Miami Herald newspaper.

Stranahan House is the home of Fort Lauderdale pioneers Frank and Ivy Stranahan. Built in 1901 as a trading post and converted into a residence for the Stranahans in 1906, the house is the oldest surviving structure in Broward County. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and today operates as a historic house museum. The House is open for guided tours at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. daily, and hosts special events throughout the year.

Bank of America Plaza is a 365 feet (111 m), 23-story office building located at Las Olas City Centre in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The structure was finished in early 2003, and contains a parking garage which is located on the second to sixth floors, a small retail mall, and a Bank of America—the building's namesake tenant—on the ground floor. It currently stands as the fifth tallest building in Ft. Lauderdale. The rest of the building however is strictly off-limits to the public, with the exception of employees and company clients. These individuals must maintain an ID card in order to access the building's elevators.The tower's pyramidal top, which resembles the Miami-Dade County Courthouse's, rises 42 ft, and is the signature portion of the building. It is illuminated at night, which gives it a prominent place in the city's skyline.

St. Anthony Catholic School is a historic school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is located at 820 Northeast 3rd Street. Saint Anthony Catholic School is the parochial Catholic school of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Broward County. On September 26, 1997, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The school building was built in 1926 by John Olsson. The architect was Francis Abreu.

The Alfred and Olive Thorpe Lustron House is a historic Lustron house built in 1950, located at 1001 Northeast 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

One Financial Plaza is a 374 ft (114 m), 28-story building in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida was opened in 1972. At the time of its opening, it was the tallest building in the Fort Lauderdale area. It has since been surpassed by several buildings. Currently, it is the city's sixth tallest building. One Financial Plaza bears a striking resemblance to the Chase Tower in Amarillo, Texas. They were built around the same time (Chase Tower opened in 1971, the year before One Financial Plaza opened), and Chase Tower is only a few floors taller, at 31 stories.

The College of Education is an academic college of Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, Florida, United States. The college was founded in 1964 when Florida Atlantic opened its doors. "The college employs 132 full-time faculty and 48 staff members throughout its four campuses, as well as classroom teachers and staff employed by the A.D. Henderson School, FAU High, and the Karen Slattery Center." The college is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

PNC Center is a high-rise located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The building opened in 1991, as First Union Center and later renamed Wachovia Center, after Wachovia became the building's largest tenant.

Las Olas River House is a 42-story residential skyscraper located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It stood as the tallest building in Ft. Lauderdale, until The Icon on Las Olas overtook it in late 2017. The structure is a complex created by three adjoining buildings; two duplicate 42-story towers, and one 34-story tower.The building has 285 residential units, made up of one, two and three bedroom condominiums, and also includes a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) glass walled fitness center that overlooks the New River which is only for the exclusive use of residents, and a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) rooftop garden on the sixth floor. Las Olas River House condo includes a sixth-floor cocktail bistro lounge, separate quiet library area, private meeting room, poolside cabanas and a major conference area for meetings and conducting business. Las Olas River House also contains "Smart" building features that allow all its residents to access all the building's amenities at a touch of a button.The building is part of a highrise boom in the downtown area, along with other condominiums and residential towers such as Las Olas Grand.

The Bienes Museum of the Modern Book, previously known as the Bienes Center for the Literary Arts, is the rare book department located on the 6th floor of Broward County's Main Library in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States. The Broward County Libraries Division's Bienes Museum of the Modern Book opened to the public on December 5, 1996. James A. Findlay was the first Museum Librarian. The Bienes Museum is home to special collections totaling more than 15,000 items, including rare books, artifacts, manuscripts, and reference materials. The Museum was started with the help of philanthropists Diane and Michael Bienes' donation of $1 million. Support for the start of the Bienes Museum of the Modern Books was also provided by a grant from the Broward Public Library Foundation. Additional funding was also received from the Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Arts Council. The Bienes' also donated many books and artifacts from their personal collection in order to add to the collection of items housed by the Museum. The Bienes Museum is housed in an 8,300 square foot facility that architect Donald Singer designed. The Museum has a curved wood ceiling above slatted wood walls with a combination of glass, granite, and ceramic tiles. The Museum has a 25-seat conference room and a 60-seat Ceremonial Room available for lectures and programs. The Bienes Museum houses important collections, including the Jean Fitzgerald WPA Federal Writers' Project; WPA Museum Extension Project; WPA and other New Deal agencies, 1932–1942; the Paulette and Robert Greene Collection of Books about Books and Florida Fine Press publications; Floridiana (including archives and papers of the Florida authors Charles Willeford, Michael Shaara, Connie May Fowler, and Olivia Goldsmith); Florida Artists' Book Collection; J.D. MacDonald Collection; Siers Collection of Big Little Books; Deicke Collection of Books on Rare Tropical Fruits and Vegetables; Nyr Indictor Collection of ABC Books and Related Materials; and Vojtech Kubasta pop-up and other books.
