Harrogate and Knaresborough () is a parliamentary constituency in North Yorkshire which has been represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Andrew Jones, an MP from the Conservative Party. The constituency was formed in the 1997 boundary shake-up, which was originally named Harrogate a Conservative stronghold.

The early-fifteenth century Chapel of Our Lady of the Crag is located in an old quarry on Abbey Road beside the Nidd Gorge at Knaresborough and is an early 15th century chapel cut out of the sandstone of the river gorge cliff face. It is a Marian shrine on the old pilgrim's route to the now demolished Knaresborough Priory and close to the ancient stone quarry that was used for building works at Knaresborough Castle, the parish church and elsewhere. It was also once known as Quarry Chapel or Our Lady of the Quarry.

Plumpton Rocks is a man-made lake and surrounding pleasure gardens 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south-east of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England, near the village of Plompton. The site is now operated as a tourist attraction by the owner, Robert de Plumpton Hunter. It is a Grade II* listed park and garden. The site is now generally spelt with a 'u' (the older name of the parish), although artist J. M. W. Turner referred to it as Plompton Rocks, in keeping with the modern spelling of the parish itself. The gardens reopened in July 2016 following a major restoration of the lake, dam and woods. It closed again in October 2019 to bring the lake dam up to standard for the Reservoirs Act 1975, and reopened in September 2022.

Knaresborough Viaduct is a viaduct in the North Yorkshire town of Knaresborough, England. The viaduct carries the Harrogate line over the River Nidd in the town. The viaduct was supposed to have opened in 1848, but the first construction collapsed into the river very near to completion, which necessitated a new viaduct and delayed the opening of the line through Knaresborough by three years. The viaduct can be seen striking across the Nidd Gorge from the ruins of Knaresborough Castle and is a well-known viewpoint in the town. One writer has stated that it is one of the region's better known landmarks.

Nidderdale was a rural district in the West Riding of Yorkshire from 1938 to 1974. It was created from the combination of most of the disbanded rural districts of Great Ouseburn and Knaresborough. [1] The district covered villages in the lower valley of the River Nidd between Hampsthwaite and York. Despite its name it included only a small part of Nidderdale, most of which was in Ripon and Pateley Bridge Rural District. It bordered Harrogate and Knaresborough urban districts on their west, north and east.Charles Stourton, 26th Baron Mowbray, the premier baron, served on the district council from 1954 until 1959.In 1974 it was merged with other districts under the Local Government Act 1972 to form part of the district of Harrogate in the new county of North Yorkshire.

Knaresborough railway station is a Grade II listed station serving the town of Knaresborough in North Yorkshire, England. It is located on the Harrogate Line 16.75 miles (27 km) west of York and is operated by Northern Trains, who provide all passenger train services.

The early 13th century St Robert's Cave and Chapel of the Holy Cross also known with variants such as St Robert's Chapel and Chapel of the Holy Rood are located on Abbey Road beside the River Nidd in its gorge at Knaresborough. The cave is a rare example of a medieval hermitage, cut out of the magnesian limestone river gorge with a domestic area externally and the chapel of the Holy Cross which originally housed the saint's grave.The trustees of the site are the monks of Ampleforth Abbey and in 1989 the Harrogate Museums Service carried out excavations after clearing the site.
