Afra Mall (Arabic: مركز عفراء التجاري) is a shopping mall in Khartoum, Sudan. It opened in 2004 and is the first shopping mall in the country.The mall is two stories and has an area of 45,000 square metres (480,000 sq ft). It contains a hypermarket, a movie theater, an ice-skating rink, an internet cafe, a food court, currency exchanges, and a variety of shops.A substantial portion of the shopping center burned in early May 2012; the mall was subsequently renovated.

Khartoum American School, founded in 1957, is an international school in Khartoum, Sudan that teaches an American/International curriculum. The school is a full member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is accredited jointly through CIS and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA). While founded to offer education to the children of US diplomats in Khartoum, KAS later admitted students from the international community in Khartoum. As of 2016, 253 students from 44 countries were enrolled. The Early Childhood Center offers schooling to children from 3 years to 4 years of age (at the start of the school year) in preschool, and pre-kindergarten. The Elementary School encompasses kindergarten through grade 5. Middle School (grades 6–8) serves young adolescents and the High School division offers a college-preparatory education to students in grades 9–12. Class size ranges from 3 to 23 students, with a couple of classes temporarily (2016) surpassing the 23 student limit.

The Open University of Sudan (OUS) is a public university based in Khartoum, Sudan that provides bachelor and postgraduate courses through distance education. The university is a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World.

Future University (FU) (Arabic: جامعة المستقبل), formerly known as Computer Man College (Arabic: كلية كمبيوترمان) or (CMC), is an Information and communications technology university in Sudan. It was established in 1991 as the first college to introduce an Information Technology program in the region, and within the country. It was also one of the first to introduce Computer Engineering,Telecommunication Engineering and Architecture & Design programs. It was upgraded to a university in August 2010 by the Sudan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The university adopts the credit hours system in its education process. Currently, the university contains seven faculties, each offering several programs.

The University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST) is a co-educational mainly medical oriented college in Khartoum, Sudan. The mission of UMST is to serve the educational needs of Sudanese, African and Arab students. It is located in the Riyad district of Khartoum. It first opened its doors in 1995 with a student body of only forty students and two faculties. In 2017 it had become home to 5,000-6,000 students and costs US$15,000 for the school of medicine in 2018. The university has 14 faculties. In 2014 the University stated that 60% of its students were foreign.

Nahda College is an educational institution founded in 2014 and based in the city of Khartoum, Sudan.

Al-Basar International Foundation (Arabic: مؤسسة البصر الخيرية العالمية) is a non-profit international NGO based in Saudi Arabia. It was established in 1989 to work in the field of prevention and eradication/controlling of blindness & blinding diseases. It works together with King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Yemen, Bangladesh, Sudan, Nigeria and Pakistan to fight blindness and eye disease. and performed surgeries in Sudan In a 2019 campaign funded by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in collaboration with Al Basar International Foundation, medical volunteers from Saudi Arabia met 8000 eye patients and performed 800 eye surgeries to remove cataract and glaucoma in Ibadan, Nigeria, as well as in Lafia in Nasarawa State, Nigeria.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Sudan is the official representative of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation to the President and the Government of Sudan.The ambassador and his staff work at large in the Embassy of Russia in Khartoum. The post of Russian Ambassador to Sudan is currently held by Andrey Chernovol, incumbent since 10 March 2023.

Al-Riyad (Arabic: الرياض), or Riyadh, is one of the neighbourhoods of Khartoum, Sudan, located in the southern side of Khartoum. The affluent neighbourhood host Osama bin Laden's house in Khartoum.

Al-Ashra (Arabic: العشرة), or Al-Aushara or Al Oshara, is one of the neighbourhoods of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. The region has been affected by the ongoing conflict in Sudan, with reports that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) ordered residents of Al-Ashra neighborhood in Khartoum’s Al Sahafah district to leave their homes after they refused to cooperate with the RSF.

The Canadian Sudanese College is an educational institution based in the city of Khartoum, Sudan. It is affiliated with the American University in London. The Chairman of the board is Dr. Al-Jazuli Daf'allah, a former prime minister of Sudan. The college offers bachelor's and master's degrees in computer information systems and business administration. The college is a member of the Sudanese University Libraries Consortium.

Khartoum International Airport (IATA: KRT, ICAO: HSSK) (Arabic: مطار الخرطوم الدولي) is the principal airport in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. The airport has been shut down since it was stormed and occupied on 15 April 2023 during the Battle of Khartoum. The current airport is scheduled to be replaced by the New Khartoum International Airport in Omdourman 40 kilometres (25 mi) south of the centre of Khartoum. This is planned to have two 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) runways, a passenger terminal of 86,000 m2 (930,000 sq ft) and a 300-room international hotel. Construction is to be carried out by China Harbour Engineering Co. (CHEC). On 4 March 2021, the airport's ICAO code was changed from HSSS to HSSK.The current airport originated as the Royal Air Force airfield Gordon's Tree. By January 1940, No. 223 Squadron RAF was located at Gordon's Tree, in the south of Khartoum. Later the area became known as El Shajjara ("The Tree"). By January 1942, No. 71 Operational Training Unit (OTU) RAF was operating from the airfield; among aircraft operated were Curtiss Tomahawks and Vickers Wellesleys. Reportedly the OTU had at one stage 50 Harvards and 20 Hurricane fighters on strength.Sudanese independence was granted in January 1956. The last Royal Air Force flying unit reported at Khartoum was No. 8 Squadron RAF, which arrived in November 1953, and stayed until July 1956.
