New Addington is a town in South London, England, within the London Borough of Croydon and the historic county of Surrey. It is located 5 miles south east of Croydon, south of Addington Village and north of Biggin Hill.

New Addington Library is a public library in New Addington, South London. It stands in the London Borough of Croydon and is part of the Croydon Libraries arm of the council. The library was relocated to the New Addington Centre in 2013.

King Henry's Drive tram stop is a light rail stop serving the Betchworth Way residential area of New Addington, in the London Borough of Croydon in the southern suburbs of London. It is located in the wide central reservation of a dual carriageway. The tram stop is served by Tramlink, which connects New Addington with central Croydon. It was a request stop in both directions until December 2019, when it was made a compulsory stop for trams towards Addington.

Hutchinson's Bank is 21.8 hectare Local Nature Reserve and Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation in New Addington in the London Borough of Croydon. It is owned by Croydon Council and managed by the London Wildlife Trust.The site is a sloping dry chalk bank, which has a wide variety of plants, butterflies and birds. Plants include the pyramidal and man orchids, and the greater yellow-rattle, which is rare nationally. Over 100 species of moth and 36 of butterfly have been recorded. It also has scrub with wild privet, dogwood and the wayfaring tree. Sheep graze on the grassland as part of the Surrey Downs Project. There is access from Featherbed Lane, Farleigh Dean Crescent and Thorpe Close.

The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 11,479.The ward returned two councillors every four years to Croydon Council. At the 2006 London local elections Simon Hall and Carole Bonner were elected to the council. They stood as Labour candidates, winning with a small margin over the British National Party.

The ward currently forms part of the Croydon Central constituency. The ward returns two councillors every four years. On 6 May 2021, 5 by-elections were held in Croydon following the resignation of 5 councillors across New Addington North, South Norwood, Kenley, Park Hill and Whitgift and Woodside.

Meridian High School is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the New Addington area of the London Borough of Croydon, England. The School takes its pupils mainly from the Addington, New Addington, Forestdale, Selsdon and Shirley areas. In January 2007, strong winds swept the roof of the school off. No-one was harmed and the school was fully repaired by April 2007. The school converted to academy status on 1 June 2013. The school changed its name to Meridian High School in June 2015 to avoid bad assumptions of students that people had of previous students that attended the school. The school had previously been called Addington High School and before that Fairchildes secondary modern School. The Prime Meridian passes straight through the school playground, hence the current name.

It is sometimes considered to be part of Addington, its ancient and ecclesiastical parish. It is located south of Upper Shirley, east of Selsdon, south-west of Addington's historic centre, north-west of New Addington and north of Farleigh.
