Villard Hall

University and Villard Halls, University of Oregon are historic academic buildings on the campus the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. Built in 1876 and 1886 respectively, they are among the oldest surviving academic buildings on the west coast of the United States, and are noted for their Second Empire architecture. They were designated a National Historic Landmarks as a pair in 1977.Both buildings were extensively altered in the 20th century, with University Hall's interior entirely gutted in 1914. The exteriors, in particular wooden trim elements, suffered due to Oregon's coastal climate. They were both given historically sensitive restoration in the mid-1990s, a process in which students were given the opportunity to participate through classes organized for the purpose.

University Hall, formerly Deady Hall, is a historic building located in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was built from 1873 to 1876 by W. H. Abrams to a design by architect William W. Piper. It was the University of Oregon's first building, and remained the university's only building for almost ten years after its construction. After the university gained other buildings, it was known simply as the "Old Building", but in 1893 it was renamed "Deady Hall" in honor of Matthew Deady, Oregon's first federal judge. Ironically, Deady believed that state universities were of little use to anybody, and in 1857, during the Oregon Constitutional Convention, Deady moved to strike the section authorizing a university from the Oregon State Constitution. His efforts were initially successful, although by the 1870s a state university had become inevitable, and the building that bears his name was constructed in spite of Deady's earlier objections. In another twist of fate, Deady was first president of the university's Board of Regents.University Hall is variously described as simplified Italianate with Second Empire details or simply as Second Empire (though not as elaborate an example as Villard Hall). This building was listed on National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It and nearby Villard Hall were together designated as one National Historic Landmark in 1977.At the Oregon Constitutional Convention in 1857, Matthew Deady had advocated for discrimination towards African-Americans, who were not allowed to settle in the new state. Because of these views, Deady Hall became a target of an effort to remove his name from the building. On June 10, 2020, UO President Michael Schill sent a letter to the Board of Trustees recommending renaming Deady Hall because of Deady's racist views. On June 24, 2020, the University of Oregon's Board of Trustees announced that the name "Deady" would be removed as the name of the hall until a date when a new name can be chosen. In the interim, the hall will be named "University Hall."

Wind Fence is an outdoor sculpture by Ned Kahn, installed on the north side of the Lillis Business Complex on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It is composed of panels of small aluminum flaps, suspended in the air, which are allowed to freely move in the wind. The design reveals the invisible passage of wind through the fence. It was funded by the State of Oregon as part of the statewide Percent for Art program.

The Pioneer is a thirteen-foot-tall bronze sculpture formerly located on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was the artistic work of Alexander Phimister Proctor, commissioned by Joseph Nathan Teal, a Portland attorney. A ceremony celebrated its unveiling on May 22, 1919. It included attendance from persons all across the state, the majority of enrolled students, and a special section of the crowd was reserved for the remaining settlers. T. G. Hendricks and his granddaughter removed the canvas cover, unveiling the statue. As of June 13, 2020, the statue is no longer standing on the University of Oregon campus.

The Lillis Business Complex (LCB) is a building on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon. It is home to the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business (thus the LCB acronym for the Complex),. The complex consists of four buildings; the new main building (called Lillis Hall), completed in 2003, and three older buildings, Anstett Hall, Peterson Hall, and the Chiles Business Center.

The Charles H. Lundquist College of Business (also known as the Lundquist College of Business) is the University of Oregon's business school. Founded in 1914, the Lundquist College offers undergraduate degree programs in business administration and accounting, as well as MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Science in Sports Product Management, Master of Accounting, Master of Science in Finance, and PhD graduate programs. These degree programs are supported by four departments (finance, management, marketing, and operations and business analytics) and one school of accounting.

The University of Oregon College of Design (UO Design) is a public college of architecture and visual arts in the U.S. state of Oregon. Founded in 1914 by Ellis F. Lawrence, the college is located on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, off the corner of 13th and University streets, and also has programs at the historic White Stag Block in Portland, Oregon.

Chapman Hall is an academic building located on the University of Oregon campus. It was designed by Ellis F. Lawrence and was built in the late 1930s. It is made of concrete and brick. Today, it houses the Robert D. Clark Honors College.
