Fulbrook is a small parish and deserted village in Warwickshire, England, situated about 4 miles (6 km) north-east of Stratford upon Avon. Population details can be found under Hampton Lucy. Fulbrook today consists mostly of sheep-grazed fields on the banks of the River Avon. Ridge and furrow marks on the bank just down from the road are almost all that remains of medieval strip fields that once supported a village upon the site. Fulbrook was one of many villages first decimated by the Black Death in the 14th century, but doubly unfortunate in that its remaining tenants were later forcibly evicted by the Duke of Bedford so that he could enclose it as a park for hunting (nearby Charlecote remains a deer park).There are documented reports of a dramatic rise in highway crime on the surrounding roads soon after the eviction of the villagers. The Duke of Bedford also built a castle on the site near a moated house belonging to a widow of noble birth, the moat of which is still clearly visible. Local records tell of fierce rivalry between, on the one side, the Duke of Bedford and the noble widow and, on the other, the Earl of Warwick: conflict which on occasions descended into violence between supporters of the two sides in the town of Warwick.There was once also a watermill, owned by an order of nuns from Coventry, and there are records of graves found on the site. Later excavations have destroyed almost all traces of the village.

Norton Lindsey

Norton Lindsey is a village and civil parish in Warwickshire, England, 3.5 miles south-west of the tourist and county town of Warwick and a mile west of the M40 motorway. At the 2011 census, the parish had a population of 326. The village takes its name from the Lindsey family who were lords of the manor in the 12th century. The parish church of the Holy Trinity dates from the following century. The village has a windmill. M40 minibus crash

On Thursday 18 November 1993, just after midnight, a minibus was involved in a fatal collision with a maintenance vehicle on the M40 motorway near Warwick, England. The minibus was transporting 14 children home to Worcestershire from a school trip to the Royal Albert Hall in London when it veered into the rear of the motorway maintenance lorry which was stationary on the hard shoulder. Twelve of the 14 children and the driver of the minibus, their teacher, were killed in the crash, which is one of the worst on the British road network. The two survivors sustained minor injuries, as did the occupants of the motorway maintenance lorry.

Wasperton

Wasperton is a village and civil parish in the English county of Warwickshire. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 153. It is on the east bank of the River Avon and is some 5 miles (8 km) south of the town of Warwick which is easily accessed by the A429 road. Between 1980 and 1985 extensive excavations in advance of gravel digging revealed a cemetery which contained both Roman and Anglo-Saxon graves. There were over 200 inhumations and 26 cremation burials uncovered. 116 inhumations and 24 cremations were determined to be Anglo-Saxon. 40 inhumations have been determined to be Roman, 44 inhumations could not be dated. The graves included spears, shields, knives, brooches and beads.

Longbridge Interchange

Longbridge Interchange (also known as Longbridge Island) is a major road and motorway junction between Warwick and Sherbourne, Warwickshire, connecting the A46 road and A429 road respectively to the M40 motorway at junction 15. For many years, it was deemed inadequate in handling the volume of traffic, which in 2009 was estimated to be in the region of 75,000 vehicles daily; a bypass was built during 2008-2009 which relieved congestion.

Barford is a village and civil parish in the Warwick district of Warwickshire, England, about three miles south of Warwick. As at the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,171, that increased to 1,336 at the 2011 census. The Joint parish council also runs the villages of Sherbourne and Wasperton. In March 2014 "The Sunday Times" listed the village as one of the Top 10 places to live in The Midlands. In the village there are two pubs, a hotel with swimming pool, and a village shop owned and run by the community.The Church of England primary school that is in the village is called "Barford St. Peters". The University of Warwick Boat Club trains on the River Avon at Barford. Barford is served by Stagecoach bus routes X18 and 18A which link it with Coventry, Leamington Spa, Warwick and Stratford Upon Avon. The M40 motorway is just 1.5 miles from the village, with Warwick and Warwick Parkway railway stations just over 4 miles away.
