Catharijne is a former municipality on the west side of the Dutch city of Utrecht. It was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1823, when it merged with the city of Utrecht. It was named for the St. Catharina monastery in Utrecht, which was demolished in 1528 to make way for the castle Vredenburg. One of the city gates was named after this monastery; the municipality of Catharijne was on the outside of this gate.

The Rabobank Bestuurscentrum or Rabotoren (English: Rabobank Executive Centre or Rabotower) is a skyscraper in the Dutch city of Utrecht, built between 2007 and 2011 and designed by the architectural firm Kraaijvanger Urbis. At 105 metres (344 ft), it is the highest office building in the city, and the second highest building overall after the Dom Tower.

The TivoliVredenburg is a contemporary music complex located in Utrecht, Netherlands. The venue consists of five halls designed acoustically for a specific music genre. Along with its hall, the venue also features an "amateur stage" and a cafe.

Muziekcentrum Vredenburg was a music venue in Utrecht, Netherlands with a capacity of 5,000 people. It was designed by Dutch architect Herman Hertzberger. The venue hosted concerts by many famous artists, spanning many different genres. The old building (except the main hall) has been demolished and the city of Utrecht has built a new, bigger venue on the same location. The main hall of the old building has been integrated into the new building. The new building was officially opened in July 2014 and is called TivoliVredenburg.

Vredenburg Castle (Dutch: (Kasteel) Vredenburg or Vredeborch) was a 16th-century castle built by Habsburg emperor Charles V in the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Some remains of the castle, which stood for only 50 years, are still visible on what is now Vredenburg square in Utrecht.

Lauwerecht is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was located northwest of the city of Utrecht and existed from 1818 to 1823. It is now part of Utrecht.

The Jaarbeurs (pronounced [ˈjaːr.bøːrs]; Dutch for 'Yearly Fair') is an exhibition and convention centre in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Noted events include the former Space '86, the Hobby Computer Club Days (HCC Dagen), and the Mega Record & CD Fair. The venue is also a regular base for music festivals like ASOT festival and Thunderdome. The Jaarbeurs extends to an area of 100.000 m² next to Utrecht Centraal railway station. The first Jaarbeurs was held in 1917. It was a major success from the start, opening up the city of Utrecht as a trade centre and giving it an economic boost.

St. Mary's Church, also called Mariakerk or Maria Maior, was one of five collegiate churches in the Dutch city of Utrecht, the others being St. Martin's Cathedral, St. Salvator's Church, the Pieterskerk, and the Janskerk. It dated from the eleventh century and was considered one of the finest buildings in Romanesque style in the Netherlands. The church was demolished in stages during the first half of the nineteenth century. Today only the cloister at the Mariaplaats remains, behind the Gebouw voor Kunsten en Wetenschappen which houses the Utrecht Conservatory.

St. Gertrude's Cathedral (Dutch: Sint-Gertrudiskathedraal) in Utrecht, the Netherlands, is the seat of the Archbishop of Utrecht and the mother church of the Old Catholic Church of the Netherlands (and of the wider Old Catholic Communion). It is located at Willemsplantsoen, at the edge of the city centre. The current church building was constructed between 1912 and 1914, and was designed by E.G. Wentinck (nl) in Neo-Romanesque style, echoing St. Mary's Church, which formerly stood on the Mariaplaats, very close by. In the altar there are more than 1700 relics in hundreds of containers. Underneath these relics there is supposed to be a piece of a rib of St. Willibrord.

The Old Catholic Archdiocese of Utrecht is an archdiocese within the Old Catholic Church of the Netherlands which split from the Archdiocese of Utrecht officially in 1723 because of the illicit consecration of Cornelius van Steenoven to the episcopate. The first Old Catholic archbishop of Utrecht was elected in 1723. The Old Catholic archbishop of Utrecht is automatically the president of the International Old Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Union of Utrecht. Since 2020, its archbishop is Bernd Wallet.

The Utrechts Conservatorium is a Conservatory of Music in Utrecht, Netherlands and part of the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU). The conservatory opened in 1875 and is one of the eldest professional musical education institutes of the Netherlands. Since 1971, the conservatory is located in the former concert hall Gebouw voor Kunsten en Wetenschappen (Building for Arts and Science) and in the former hospital St. Joannes de Deo, both in the same street. Apart from these two buildings, the Nederlandse Beiaardschool (Dutch Carillon School), located in Amersfoort, is also part of the school. The Utrechts Conservatorium merged in 1987 with the Carillon School and the Nederlands Instituut voor Kerkmuziek (Dutch Institute for Church Music) into the Faculty of music of the Utrecht School of the Arts. The Jacobikerk is a landmark Protestant church in Utrecht, Netherlands. The building is located on the St Jacobsstraat, named for its patron saint St. James the Greater. The church is one of the medieval parish churches of Utrecht, along with the Buurkerk, the Nicolaïkerk and the Geertekerk. Today it is known as the starting place for Dutch pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella along the Way of St. James. The Dutch Confraternity of St. James is located around the corner on the St. Jacobskerkhof.
