47th is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Red Line. The station is located in the median of the Dan Ryan Expressway in the Fuller Park neighborhood. Access to the station is available from a staircase at the middle of the north side of the 47th Street overpass, where an open canopy crosswalk with traffic signals leads to a bus stop on the south side of the overpass. 47th was closed from May 19 to October 20, 2013, as part of the Red Line Reconstruction Project.

Fuller Park is the 37th of Chicago's 77 community areas. Located on the city's South Side, it is 5 miles (8.0 km) from the Loop. It is named for a small park also known as Fuller Park within the neighborhood, which is in turn named for Melville Weston Fuller, a Chicago attorney who was the Chief Justice of the United States between 1888 and 1910.

Robert Taylor Homes was a public housing project in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. It was located along State Street between Pershing Road (39th Street) and 54th Street, east of the Dan Ryan Expressway. The project was named for Robert Rochon Taylor, an African-American activist and the first African American chairman of the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). It was a part of the State Street Corridor which included other CHA housing projects: Stateway Gardens, Dearborn Homes, Harold Ickes Homes, and Hilliard Homes.

Legends South, formerly Robert Taylor Homes, is a neighborhood located in the Grand Boulevard Community Area on the South side of Chicago, Illinois. The neighborhood used to be named after the Chicago housing development, Robert Taylor Homes, that once took up most of the area. The buildings were overrun with crime and fell into disrepair. They were demolished in 2007. The area is now being redeveloped as Legends South with a mixed-income community in low-rise buildings as part of a federal block grant received for the purpose from the HOPE VI federal program.

Legends South is a mixed-income housing development located in the Bronzeville neighborhood of the South Side of Chicago. It will include nearly 2,400 new mixed-income rental and home ownership units. In 1996 HOPE VI funds were granted specifically for Legends South to replace the infamous Robert Taylor Homes.

Rosenwald Court Apartments (also known as Rosenwald Courts or the Rosenwald Apartments; formerly known as Michigan Boulevard Garden Apartments) is a large apartment building located in the Bronzeville neighborhood of the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. It is located at East 47th Street and South Michigan Avenue, just one block east of the former Chicago Housing Authority's Robert Taylor Homes site. In total, the building is made up of 421 apartments, a large landscaped courtyard, and retail space at street level. It was originally built as non-governmental subsidized housing and is considered to be among the earliest mixed-use housing developments.

Jean Baptiste Point DuSable High School is a public four-year high school campus located in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. DuSable is owned by the Chicago Public Schools district. The school was named after Chicago's first permanent non-native settler, Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable. Constructed between 1931 and 1934, DuSable opened in February 1935. Since 2005, the school campus serves as home to two smaller schools; the Bronzeville Scholastic Institute and the Daniel Hale Williams Preparatory School of Medicine. Both of the schools use the DuSable name in an athletics context. The DuSable Leadership Academy was housed at the location until it closed after the 2015–16 school year. The school building was designated a Chicago Landmark on May 1, 2013.

The Al Sadiq Mosque (or Wabash Mosque) was commissioned in 1922 in the Bronzeville neighborhood in city of Chicago. The Al-Sadiq Mosque is one of America's earliest built mosques and the oldest standing mosque in the country today. This mosque was funded with the money predominantly donated by African-American Ahmadi Muslim converts.

Fuller Park is a public park at 331 W. 45th Street in the neighborhood of the same name in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The park was one of several built by the South Park Commission in the early 20th century to provide parks in dense and poor South Side Chicago neighborhoods which lacked them. While most of the South Park Commission parks opened in the mid-1900s, work on Fuller Park did not begin until 1910 due to a dispute over its location, and its facilities gradually opened over the next four years. The park was named for Melville Fuller, an Illinois native and former Chief Justice of the United States. The South Park Commission designed the park's landscape in a similar style to their earlier parks, which had been designed by the Olmsted Brothers; D. H. Burnham and Company designed its buildings, as they had for the earlier parks. The park originally included a Beaux-Arts fieldhouse, a gymnasium, a bathhouse, a grandstand, and a running track and walking paths. Fuller Park was first settled by Irish immigrants in the later 1860s after the Union Stock Yards opened on Christmas Day 1865. This area became a part of the Lake Township area and after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and the opening of the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railroad the area flourished into a community. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 20, 2002.

The Swift House is a historic house at 4500 S. Michigan Avenue in the Grand Boulevard community area of Chicago, Illinois. The house was built in 1892 for Edward Morris and his wife Helen Swift Morris. Both of the owners had close ties to Chicago's meatpacking industry; Edward was the president of Morris & Company, while Helen was the daughter of Gustavus Franklin Swift, the founder of Swift & Company. The Richardsonian Romanesque home was most likely designed by Chicago architects Willett & Pashley. Its design includes a rusticated stone exterior, porches supported by stone columns, a dentillated cornice, and a turret and stone gable projecting from the roof. In addition to being a home for several different owners, the house has also served as a funeral home and as the headquarters of the Chicago Urban League.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 9, 1978.

47th Street station was a commuter rail station of the Chicago and Western Indiana Railroad on the south side of Chicago. The depot at 47th Street was a two-story stone structure that was directly between two sets of merging tracks, with platforms on both sides. Passenger service on Chicago and Western Indiana Railroad ended in 1963, and the station closed on July 29, 1979 when the Norfolk and Western Railway (ex-Wabash Railroad) bypassed the station. The station structure remained long after passenger service had ended, with the structure being removed in the 1990s.

First Church of Deliverance is a landmark Spiritual church located at 4315 South Wabash Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. First Church of Deliverance was founded by Reverend Clarence H. Cobbs on May 8, 1929. The church began with nine members and held its first service in the basement of his mother's home located in the Bronzeville area on the south side of Chicago. The church was built in 1939 by Walter T. Bailey, and two towers were added to it in 1946 by Kocher, Buss & DeKlerk. It is a rare example of the Streamline Moderne design being used for a house of worship, and was designated a Chicago Landmark on October 5, 1994.
