Bottleworks District

A statue of James E. O'Donnell is installed in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was dedicated in 2009. Previously installed outside the City Market on the West Plaza, the sculpture was relocated on January 1, 2019. In 2023, the statue was relocated to Firefighters' Union Hall on Massachusetts Avenue because of the renovation of City Market.

Chatham–Arch is a neighborhood located immediately east of Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. This neighborhood is one of the oldest in Indianapolis, dating back to the mid 19th century. Chatham–Arch contains many of Indianapolis's historic homes. The Chatham–Arch Historic District is a 54.5-acre (22.1 ha) national historic district in the neighborhood that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. In 1980 it included 112 contributing buildings that were deemed to contribute to the historic character of the area. It developed between about 1836 and 1930, and includes representative examples of Italianate, Gothic Revival, and Queen Anne style architecture. Notable buildings include the Allen Methodist Episcopal Church (1927), Christian Hornberger House (1886), Mary Jefferson House (1875-1880), Rev. William Armstrong House (1881), Joseph Wernsing House (1868), Sarah Dye House (1890), Thomas Fiscus House (1865-1866), The Richelieu (1905), August Buschmann Building (1894), St. Joseph's Catholic Church (1879), Park Avenue Church (1909), First United Brethren Church (1922), Chatham Place (1878), The Argyle (1911), Wallace Block (1880), and Knauf-Smith Block (1886).

Marion County is located in the U.S. state of Indiana. The 2020 United States census reported a population of 977,203, making it the most populous county in the state and 51st most populated county in the country. Indianapolis is the county seat, the state capital, and most populous city. Marion County is consolidated with Indianapolis through an arrangement known as Unigov. Marion County is the central county of the Indianapolis–Carmel–Anderson MSA in Central Indiana.

The Morris–Butler House is a Second Empire-style house built about 1864 in the Old Northside Historic District of Indianapolis, Indiana. Restored as a museum home by Indiana Landmarks between 1964 and 1969, the American Civil War-era residence was the non-profit organization's first preservation project. Restoration work retained some of its original architectural features, and the home was furnished in Victorian and Post-Victorian styles. Its use was changed to a venue for Indiana Landmarks programs, special events, and private rentals following a refurbishment in 2013. Regular daily tours of the property have been discontinued.

The Cottage Home Historic District (also known as the Cottage Home Conservation District) is a historic district and neighborhood located on the near east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. A small portion of Cottage Home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places while a larger area is listed on the state and local levels. Known for its preponderance of "cottage-style" homes built with strong Victorian influences, Cottage Home has historically been a working class neighborhood. Numerous industrial buildings are also scattered throughout the district, providing a base of economic activity. Today, however, many of these buildings are vacant, providing a special challenge to preservation and urban renewal efforts.After a period of urban decay in the 1960s and '70s, common to inner city neighborhoods in Indianapolis, Cottage Home has since stemmed the loss of historic buildings and is now home to a flourishing and diverse community. Key to the area's improvement was the establishment of the Cottage Home Neighborhood Association (CHNA) in 1984, whose efforts halted the razing of residential properties by local businesses, and a renewed interest in restoring the area's homes. The Ruskaup-Ratcliffe house and store are the most architecturally significant buildings in the district, anchoring the district's addition to the National Register in 1990. Cottage Home was further expanded to its largest bounds at the state level in 1995 and local designation of the Ruskaup-Ratcliffe house and store followed. In 2008, the state bounds, encompassing 320 parcels and 292 properties, were designated as a Conservation District by the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission.

William Buschmann Block, also known as the Buschmann Block, is a historic commercial building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1870–1871, and is a three-story, L-shaped, Italianate style brick building. It was enlarged with a four-story wing about 1879. It sits on a rubble foundation and has round arched openings with limestone lintels. The building originally housed a retail and wholesale grocery business.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is located in the St. Joseph Neighborhood Historic District.

The Mass Ave Cultural Arts District, colloquially known as Mass Ave, is one of seven designated cultural districts in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The district centers on 0.86 miles (1.38 km) of its namesake Massachusetts Avenue, from its southern terminus at New York and Delaware streets to its northern terminus at Bellefontaine Street. The avenue is one of the four original diagonal streets included in Alexander Ralston's plan of 1821. Mass Ave also contains the Massachusetts Avenue Commercial District, a historic district included on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982. Today it lies at the heart of the city's arts district. It offers some of the city's most visible theaters and art galleries as well as a number of shops and eateries.Gentrification in the 1990s propelled the area from squalor to one of the city's more fashionable addresses. Currently, redevelopment of Mass Ave focuses on fostering locally owned shops, theaters, and restaurants.

Center Township is one of nine townships in Marion County, Indiana, in the United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 142,787 and it contained 76,872 housing units. It is the most populated township in Marion County. Center Township includes downtown Indianapolis and part of Beech Grove.

Lockerbie Square Historic District is a national historic district on the National Register of Historic Places within Indianapolis, Indiana, listed on February 23, 1973, with a boundary increase on July 28, 1987. It is noted for its Federal, Italianate, and Queen Anne style architecture. The original platting of Lockerbie Square, done by Jannett Smith Lockerbie McOuat and named for her father, Scottish immigrant George Murray Lockerbie, was between 1847 and 1850. The 1960s saw an immense effort to save the buildings within the district, becoming the first historic district in Indianapolis. Many of the buildings date from 1855 to 1930. James Whitcomb Riley, famed Hoosier poet, lived in the district for over two decades. He was known to give candy to local children on his regular walks.

Pearson Terrace is a historic rowhouse block in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1901–1902, and is a two-story, seven unit, vernacular Queen Anne style grey brick row with limestone trim. It sits on a raised basement and has a complex gable roof. It features a projecting two bay center unit and projecting window bay.: 2–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is in the St. Joseph Neighborhood Historic District.

St. Joseph Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses 57 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Indianapolis. It was developed between about 1855 and 1930, and include representative examples of Italianate and Queen Anne style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Bals-Wocher House, William Buschmann Block, Delaware Court, Pearson Terrace, and The Spink. Other notable buildings include the Christian Place complex, Fishback-Vonnegut-New House, Henry Hilker House, Apollo-Aurora Rowhouses, Israel Traub Store (c. 1865), and Lorenzo Moody House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home, one of two homes known as the James Whitcomb Riley House on the National Register of Historic Places, is a historic building in the Lockerbie Square Historic District of Indianapolis, Indiana. It was named a National Historic Landmark in 1962 for its association with poet James Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916), known as the "Hoosier poet".
