Ysbyty Gwynedd (English: Gwynedd Hospital) is a district general hospital in Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales. It is managed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The Menai Suspension Bridge (Welsh: Pont y Borth or Pont Grog y Borth) is a suspension bridge spanning the Menai Strait between the island of Anglesey and the mainland of Wales. Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1826, it was the world's first major suspension bridge. The bridge still carries road traffic and is a Grade I listed structure.

Treborth is a suburb of Bangor in Gwynedd, North West Wales. The area is notable for the Treborth Botanic Garden.

Treborth Botanic Garden (Welsh: Gardd Fotaneg Treborth), is a botanic garden in Wales, close to the city of Bangor, Gwynedd. It is owned by Bangor University, and is used in teaching for University students, local schools and community groups. It is also open to the public without charge. It is unusual in having within the garden a large area of native established broad-leaved woodland. It is bounded to the north by the seashore of the Menai Strait

Carreg yr Halen is a very small tidal island in the Menai Strait. Its centre lies approximately 20 metres offshore from the Belgian Promenade in Menai Bridge just upstream of the Menai Suspension Bridge. Only the rocky tip of the island is visible at high spring tide but at low tide area of rock, sand and some seaweed are exposed which provides feeding ground for a variety of wading birds including oystercatcher, redshank, and curlew.

St Mary's Church is a Grade II listed church in Menai Bridge, Anglesey serving the parish of Bro Tysilio, in the Diocese of St Davids of the Church in Wales. The church was designed by Henry Kennedy in the Decorated Style to replace the old church at Llandysilio. Build of random rubble with sandstone dressings, it was completed in 1858. Stained glass windows were added by Mayer in 1869 and Shrigley and Hunt in 1876. The sanctuary is raised with a granite reredos of three bays across the east wall, added in 1885. The granite font of the church, dated to 1900, is octagonal in shape, and features floriate carving work.

Friars School is a school in Bangor, Gwynedd, and the second oldest extant school in Wales.

The Swellies (or Swillies - Welsh: Pwll Ceris) is a stretch of the Menai Strait in North Wales. The most popular use of the name is for the stretch between the Britannia Bridge and the Menai Bridge.It is notable for its difficulty in safely navigating its shoals and rocks due to the whirlpools and surges that are the result of the tides washing around the island of Anglesey at different speeds. There are several small islands in The Swellies, the largest of which are Church Island (Welsh: Ynys Dysilio) and Ynys Gored Goch (Red Weir Island in English but also known as Whitebait Island). Swellies is the most treacherous section of the Menai Strait. A medieval document quoted in the book 'The Menai Strait' [2003] (also published in Welsh under the title 'Y Fenai' [2002]) by Gwyn Pari Huws and Terry Beggs (Gwasg Gomer Press) states: In that arm of the see that departeth between this island Mon and North Wales is a swelowe that draweth to schippes that seileth and sweloweth hem yn, as doth Scylla and Charybdis - therefore we may nouzt seile by this swalowe but slily at the full see.
