St. Luzi, Chur

The Cantonal School of Graubünden (German: Bündner Kantonsschule, also known as Kantonsschule Halde; Romansh: Scola chantunala grischuna; Italian: Scuola cantonale grigione) is the largest high school in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It is located at the Alte Schanfiggerstrasse / Arosastrasse 2 next to the Theological College in Chur.

Chur Cathedral, otherwise known as the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary (German: Kathedrale St. Mariä Himmelfahrt), is the Catholic cathedral of the diocese of Chur in Switzerland. The episcopal palace of the bishop of Chur is beside the church. The cathedral claims the relics of St Lucius of Britain, said to have been martyred nearby in the late 2nd century. During the Swiss Reformation, the Catholic population of the city were confined to a ghetto enclosed around the bishop's court beside the cathedral. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.The first building on the site probably dates from the first half of the 5th century. The second church was built by Bishop Tello at some time before his death in 773. The current building was built between 1154 and 1270. In 1272 it was dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The round arch window along the center axis is the largest medieval window in Graubünden. The late-Gothic high altar was completed in 1492 by Jakob Russ.The cathedral was renovated from 2001 to 2007.

Chur (German: [ˈkuːr] (locally) or [ˈxuːr]; Italian: Coira [ˈkɔira]; Sursilvan: Cuera [ˈkweːʁə] ; Vallader: Cuoira [ˈkuɔ̯jrɐ] ; Puter and Rumantsch Grischun: Cuira [ˈkujrɐ] ; Surmiran: Coira; Sutsilvan: Cuera or Cuira; French: Coire [kwaʁ]) is the capital and largest town of the Swiss canton of the Grisons and lies in the Grisonian Rhine Valley, where the Rhine turns towards the north, in the northern part of the canton. The city, which is located on the right bank of the Rhine, is reputedly the oldest town of Switzerland.The official language of Chur is German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of Alemannic, known as Grisonian German. Romansh and Italian are significantly spoken in the city as a result of the trilingual identity of the canton. On 1 January 2020, the former municipality of Maladers merged into Chur, and on 1 January 2021, Haldenstein also merged.

The Graubündner Kantonalbank (known as Banca Chantunala Grischuna in Romansh or Banca Cantonale Grigione in Italian) is a Swiss cantonal bank which is part of the 24 cantonal banks serving Switzerland's 26 cantons. The headquarters are located in Chur, and there are 45 branches around Graubünden.

Chur Altstadt railway station is a small railway station (essentially a street halt) on the Chur–Arosa railway (the "Arosabahn") of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB). It is situated near the old town (Altstadt) of Chur, on Plessurquai by the Plessur river, less than a kilometre (0.76 km) from the main railway station of the city. It was called Chur Stadt railway station until 8 December 2018. The halt is closer to the shops, bars and attractions of the old town than the main station. A number of local and Postauto (see below) bus services converge at Malteser, located nearby where Grabenstrasse and Engadinstrasse converge. A footbridge ("Praximerbrüggli") connects the halt with Lindenquai, on the other side of the river.

Bündner Kunstmuseum (English: Graubünden Art Museum) is a Swiss art museum founded in 1919, and located in Chur, Switzerland.

Chur railway station (German: Bahnhof Chur) serves the town of Chur, capital of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Opened in 1858, it is the most important railway junction in Graubünden. The station is the terminus of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS) standard-gauge main line from Zürich, and is also one of the most important stations on the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) metre-gauge network.Since 1986, on top of it one finds the central Grisonian PostAuto/AutoDaPosta bus terminal. SBB InterCity, InterRegio, and RegioExpress services stop at the station, alongside Rhaetian Railway InterRegio, RegioExpress and Regio services. The station is also served by several Deutsche Bahn InterCity Express trains and by the Glacier Express. Finally, local service is provided by both the St. Gallen and Chur S-Bahn networks.

Sassal railway station was a small railway station (essentially a halt) on the Chur-Arosa line (the "Arosabahn") of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB). It was situated on the southeastern outskirts of Chur, by the Plessur river, between the city suburb of Sand and the settlement of Meiersboden. The small community of Sassal is located on the other side of the river, on the hillside near Meiersboden. The RhB has closed Sassal halt(that is, passengers can no longer embark/alight there, though trains continue to run through on the line) due to the danger of falling rocks, low passenger numbers, and problems getting on and off trains at this location. This location has suffered from notable landslides in recent times - the mountainside to the rear of the station is unstable - with the railway line and road sometimes obstructed by rockfall. An alternative public transport service is provided by Chur town bus services which run through to Meiersboden. The nearest open railway station is now the RhB's Chur Stadt, a street halt, around 1.5 km away towards the centre of Chur.

Araschgen is a village near Chur in the Plessur district, Switzerland. It is part of the municipality of Churwalden. The village was first mentioned in the mid-14th century as Giraschga. The mineral springs in the village were first mentioned in the 16th century and were rediscovered in 1863. During the late 19th century, a mineral spa and water bottling plant were built between Araschgen and Passugg. The Chur-Tschiertschen road was built through the village from 1887 to 1894. In the late 20th century the village became a bedroom community of Chur.In 2014 the village kindergarten closed due to budget concerns. It was reopened with eight students for the 2016/17 school year to reduce crowding in Chur schools.

Calanda Bräu (German for "Calanda Brew") is a brewery in Chur, in the Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland, owned by Heineken N.V. Its lagers, brewed using Alpine spring water, are available across Switzerland.

Chur Wiesental railway station is a railway station in the northern part of the town of Chur, the capital of the Swiss canton of Grisons. The station is on the Rhaetian Railway's single-track 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) metre gauge Landquart–Thusis line, and has one side platform. The two-track SBB line runs parallel but has no intermediate stops between Chur and Landquart.

Maladers is a former municipality in the Plessur Region in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. On 1 January 2020 the former municipality of Maladers merged into Chur.
