Niedersonthofener See is a lake in Oberallgäu, Bavaria, Germany. At an elevation of 703,30 m, its surface area is 135.30 ha. The lake is known for having a shape that is strikingly similar to that of a whale.

Rottach is a river of Bavaria, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Iller at the boundary between the municipalities Sulzberg and Rettenberg. Note that there is another river also called Rottach 18 kilometres downstream which is a left tributary of the Iller.

Wohlfühlhof Zeh is a farm animal sanctuary in Waltenhofen, Germany. It was originally a dairy farm. The sanctuary's founder Hans-Peter Zeh had inherited the farm in the third generation. In 2014, he converted it to a sanctuary and kept his remaining cows to let them live out their natural lifespans. As of 2022, the sanctuary houses 23 cows, 27 chickens, eight cats, seven goats, and four ducks. It derives income from renting out holiday apartments on its premises, and from donations.

Zötler or Privat-Brauerei Zötler is a traditional brewery in Rettenberg, Allgäu, Germany with the annual production about 45,000 hectoliters. The history is traced back to a brewery founded in 1447, at the foot of the Grünten.On 10 August 2009 the brewery took over the brand rights and customers of the "Postbrauerei Karl Meyer Nesselwang" with the purchase contract as of 1 December 2009. Zötler produces various styles, including 1447 Naturtrüb, Zötler Gold, Privat-Pils, Hefeweizen Light and Dark, Hefeweizen leicht, St. Stephansbock, Korbinian Dunkel, Festbier, Maibock, Vollmond-Bier, etc. Zötler also produces soft drinks of the Libella brand. Zötler is part of the initiative "Die Freien Brauer", founded in 2006, an association of independent private breweries in Europe.

It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Unterallgäu and Ostallgäu, the Austrian states Tyrol and Vorarlberg, the district of Lindau, and the state of Baden-Württemberg (district Ravensburg). The city of Kempten is enclosed by but does not belong to the district.

Grünten (also, Watcher of the Allgäu) is a mountain of Bavaria, Germany. On the summit is a Gebirgsjäger monument, dedicated to German mountain troopers killed in World War One. Not far from there, on the lower crest, is a radio tower of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. The cable car connecting the village of Rettenberg and the radio tower was closed to the public in 2014 and is now only used to transport material or members of staff up to the radio tower.

Immenstadt im Allgäu (German: [ˈɪmənˌʃtat] ) is a town in Oberallgäu, the southernmost district of Bavaria, Germany, in the German Alps. First mentioned in a 1275 administrative tract, it was granted town privileges in 1360, which makes it one of the oldest towns in the area. It was the seat of the counts of Königsegg-Rothenfels until 1804.
