Rivets Stadium is a stadium in Loves Park, Illinois. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Rockford Rivets baseball team. The stadium has 3,279 seats, but can host crowds of over 4,000. It opened in 2006 as the home of the Rockford RiverHawks, replacing the club's former home, Marinelli Field. Since 2007, the Rockford College Regents have played their home games at Rivets Stadium. The field also hosts some Illinois High School Association Super Sectional games.

The Keeling-Puri Peace Plaza is a 2.5-acre (10,000 m2) park in Rockford, Illinois, United States. Established in 2002, the plaza celebrates the United Nations’ official September 21 International Day of Peace. The plaza showcases 44 flags, and has messages of peace in more than 60 languages. The heart of the plaza (the Harmony Index) features two connected circles around an outline of the world, representing unity through diversity in action. Co-founded by Rockford philanthropists Jim Keeling and Sunil Puri, it is located on Rockford’s east side, along the Perryville bicycle path. The plaza also features ten statues of well-known peace advocates including Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and John Lennon, with quotations from each pertaining to nonviolence. Nationally-known sculptor Lee Sido designed the Harmony Index. One of the plaza's founders has commented, "The aspiration is for each individual to take personal responsibility for the world. Recognizing that we are all interconnected, we each have our role in improving how we deal with each other and improving how we deal with other countries. Everything in the world starts with the individual".

Rock Cut State Park is a state park of the U.S. state of Illinois. Located near Rockford in Winnebago County, it covers 3,092 acres (1,251 ha), enveloping Pierce Lake and Olson Lake. Rock Cut Park's main entrance is located on Highway 173, 1 mile west of Interstate 90.

Argyle is an unincorporated census-designated place in Boone and Winnebago counties in the U.S. state of Illinois, northeast of Rockford. It is part of the Rockford, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Rock Valley College (RVC) is a public community college in Rockford, Illinois. It is part of the Illinois Community College System. RVC's district comprises Winnebago County, Boone County, and parts of Stephenson County, Ogle County, McHenry County, and DeKalb County. Since opening for classes in 1965, RVC has grown to an institution of 140 faculty members, 500 part-time lecturers, and more than 7700 students.

The Rock Valley College Studio Theatre was an indoor community theater located on the Rock Valley College campus in Rockford, Illinois; its operational status has been put on hold indefinitely, a casualty of the Illinois Budget crisis (see: Bruce Rauner#Governor of Illinois). It is often conflated with the Rock Valley College Starlight Theatre, which operates in the nearby Bengt Sjostrom Theatre, an award-winning outdoor complex known as Starlight Theatre by local residents. Confusion exists as both theatres are operated by the RVC Theatre Department and stand in close proximity to one another.

The prelate is a bishop serving as the pastor of the Mother Church, the Cathedral of Saint Peter in the City of Rockford. Pope Benedict XVI appointed David Malloy, as the ninth and current bishop on March 20, 2012. He was installed on May 14, 2012. A suffragan diocese of the Province of Chicago, the metropolitan bishop of Rockford is the Archbishop of Chicago.
