RNAS Dundee

Craigiebank is an area of eastern Dundee, Scotland. It borders three other areas of the city: West Ferry to the east, Pitkerro to the north, Baxter Park and East Port to the south-west. The Craigiebank housing estate was planned in 1918 as a garden suburb of the city, designed by City Architect James Thomson. At the centre of the estate was to be a group of community buildings, including a church, a college, shops and sports facilities. However, only Craigiebank Parish Church was built. It was designed in the Romanesque style by City Architect Frank Thomson and opened in September 1938. Before demolition in 2023, it consisted of a cruciform plan sanctuary with an adjoining rectangular plan church hall (the hall was opened in 1932 and was used for church services prior to the construction of the sanctuary). The sanctuary housed a fine pipe organ (now residing in Poland) installed by Rothwell in 1949; this came from a London church bombed in the Blitz, and probably dates from around 1890. A current project aims to construct a multi-purpose community building on the site of the former church grounds. The High School of Dundee has its playing fields in the area. Baron Guthrie of Craigiebank, former Chief of the Defence Staff, is descended from the owners of the "Craggy Bank" Farm which used to be on the site. There are several primary schools, including Craigiebarns Primary, in the area.

Craigie High School (CHS) is a co-educational government funded High school situated in the city of Dundee, Scotland. The school is located within Craigiebank and has been serving the areas of Craigiebank, Douglas and Pitkerro for over 50 years. It is planned to close in 2025 after a merger between the school and Braeview Academy was confirmed in January 2021.

Carolina Port was a mult-sport stadium in Dundee, Scotland. It staged Scottish national championships in cycling and athletics, and as a football stadium it was an early home of Dundee F.C. and staged Dundee's first international match in 1896. It was the first sports stadium in Scotland to be wholly built and operated by a publicly owned company.

Stannergate railway station served the suburb of Stannergate, Dundee, Scotland from 1901 to 1916 on the Dundee and Arbroath Railway.

Mayfield Playing Fields, in Dundee, Scotland, is one of the sports grounds for the High School of Dundee and the home ground of rugby clubs Dundee High Rugby and its junior side, Dundee Eagles. It is situated 1.5 miles from the city centre, on Arbroath Road. Mayfield was formerly part of the grounds of Mayfield House, a mansion designed by Peddie and Kinnear and owned by William Dalgleish: by the 1880s, he had purchased the land to the east of his house from Robert McGavin of Ballumbie. The Dundee College of Education was established in 1906 after the St Andrews Provincial Committee for the Training of Teachers decided to locate in the city, and Mayfield House was acquired at a reduced price in 1912 as a hostel for women students (later becoming mixed-sex).By 1921, the playing fields had been laid out, and a clubhouse built, for a University Recreation Ground. In 1975 a new home was built for the College in West Ferry, and the High School purchased the recreation ground and sports facilities: the halls of residence remained for some years, before they were demolished for new housing. The School was thus able to supplement its existing recreation grounds at Dalnacraig, which lie almost directly across Arbroath Road, and vacate the grounds they had occupied since 1959 at Monymusk Park.Mayfield Sports Centre was opened in June 2006 at a cost of £3.2 million, comprising a large sports hall, gymnasium, dance studio, fitness centre and classroom areas, enhancing the facilities available to the school; it is also available for use by the wider community.

Craigie railway station served from 1838 to 1839 as the temporary terminus, of the Dundee end of the Dundee and Arbroath Railway.

The A972 is a major road in Dundee, Scotland. It forms part of the dual carriageway known as the 'Kingsway', that runs through the northern part of Dundee. Its main function is to link the A90 road with the A92. At its western end, the A972 joins with the A90 at its Forfar road junction. Running eastward 1⁄3 mile (0.5 km), the road meets with Pitkerro Road, then after a further 1⁄2 mile (0.8 km), with the Mid Craigie Road roundabout. After a further 1⁄4 mile (0.4 km), the road ends at the Scott Fyffe Circle (roundabout), where it meets the A92.

The A991 is a major road in Dundee, Scotland. It forms the Inner Ringroad that circles the perimeter of Dundee's city centre.

St Saviour's RC High School was a state secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. It was a denominational school within the Catholic religious tradition, although it welcomed students from all religious backgrounds. The school closed in June 2008 and merged with Lawside Academy.

East Craigie Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Dundee. Members of the Scottish Junior Football Association, they currently play in the SJFA Midlands League. The club are one of a number who claim to be the oldest Junior club currently in existence, but are the oldest football club playing in Dundee.

Roodyards railway station served Roodyards Road in Dundee, Scotland from 1839 to 1840 on the Dundee and Arbroath Railway.

Pitkerro is an area in the eastern part of Dundee, Scotland, immediately west of Douglas and south of Fintry and Whitfield. Areas of Pitkerro include Kingsway East, Linlathen, Mid Craigie, Milton of Craigie and Drumgieth. Pitkerro House was remodelled and relandscaped by Robert Lorimer in 1902.Pitkerro once had four schools, three primary and one secondary. The oldest, St Saviour's RC High School, closed in June 2008 due to decreasing pupil numbers and merged with Lawside Academy at the start of the 2008/9 school year to form St. Paul's Academy. Mosgiel Primary School and Mid Craigie Primary School merged at the start of the 2009/10 year to form Rowantree Primary School, a purpose-built school constructed in 2008. Pitkerro's other school, St. Vincent's RC Primary School was amalgamated with St Luke's & St Matthew's RC Primary School in 2018 to form St. Francis RC Primary School and is now located in the new North East Campus building on Lothian Crescent along with Longhaugh Primary School and Quarryview Nursery. Together, Pitkerro, Kirkton and Hilltown contain 31% of Dundee's enumeration districts which fall within the worst 10% of deprived districts in Scotland.In 1998, a Mecca Bingo hall opened in the Douglasfield area of Pitkerro with an Odeon Cinema opening two years later. Pitkerro has two major Supermarkets, Morrisons in Linlathen, and a 24-hour Asda in Milton of Craigie. The area is served by Dundee bus routes 15a, 15c and 17 operated by Xplore Dundee and 360 operated by Moffat & Williamson.
