Osborn–Bouton–Mead House is a historic home located at South Salem, Westchester County, New York. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Katonah–Lewisboro Union Free School District, or simply the Katonah–Lewisboro School District (KLSD) is a school district headquartered in South Salem, New York. The district has a Katonah, New York mailing address.

The Homestead is a historic home located at Waccabuc, Westchester County, New York. It has five contributing buildings and one contributing structure. The main house, known as The Homestead, was built between 1820 and 1822 in the Federal style by the locally prominent Mead family. It has a four bay wide main block with a three bay ell. The frame building sits on a cut stone foundation. Also on the property is a 19th-century barn, four room cottage, tool shed (c. 1900), chicken house (c. 1900), and well house. The Mead family built the separately listed Mead Memorial Chapel.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

John Jay High School is a public high school located in Lewisboro, New York. It is the only high school in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. The school, which opened in 1956, is named after John Jay, a Founding Father of the United States, and first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who lived nearby. Over the years, the school former mascot, the Indians, had been controversial, and it was decided in November 2019 to retire the mascot in favor of a new one. In 2020, the school announced that their new mascot would be the Wolves, a nod to the nearby Wolf Conservation Center.

Waccabuc is a hamlet and lake in the town of Lewisboro, Westchester County, New York, United States. Waccabuc is considered "New York's Secret Suburb" and is home to a "collection of privacy-loving C.E.O.s and bright stars in other firmaments," according to an Upstart Business Journal article about the tremendous number of notable residents in a hamlet of just a few hundred people. Waccabuc is known by many outside of the town for its Castle Rock.Before becoming its own hamlet, Waccabuc was originally a vacation retreat established by the Mead family, who are considered one of the First Families of Westchester. The retreat prided itself for having no "tramps, bars, or malaria." A couple of the hamlet's handful of roads, such as "Tarry-a-Bit," are named after the vacation house they originally served. Waccabuc Country Club's main clubhouse sits at the site of one of the original vacation houses.On July 1, 1956, Marilyn Monroe wed Arthur Miller in a Jewish ceremony at a private house in Waccabuc. Their nuptials were celebrated at the home of Miller's literary agent, Kay Brown. Some 30 friends and relatives attended the hastily arranged party.The Mead Memorial Chapel and The Homestead are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Waccabuc Historic District was listed on July 28, 2015.

South Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery is a historic home located at South Salem, Westchester County, New York. The cemetery was established in the 18th century, perhaps as early as 1710. It has a total of 373 identified graves, ranging in date from 1739 to 1928. Burials include veterans of the French and Indian War, Revolutionary War and War of 1812. It includes a number of notable 18th and 19th century grave markers.: 3–4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

South Salem is a hamlet in the Town of Lewisboro, Westchester County, in the U.S. state of New York. Part of the New York metropolitan area, the town center has a post office, town hall, library, and recycling center. Notable residents have included the 33rd Vice President of the United States Henry A. Wallace, Major John Andre (British spy held captive), Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, photographer O. Winston Link, artist Charles Sheeler (American, 1883–1965), pianist Hélène Grimaud, composer and arranger Clare Grundman, singer and musical stage headliner Sally Ann Howes, actress Colleen Dewhurst, bond salesman Joseph Schembri, and notorious real estate scion Robert Durst. The Osborn–Bouton–Mead House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Lake Truesdale is a lake located in the hamlet of South Salem, part of the Town of Lewisboro, in northern Westchester County, New York. The 83.3-acre (337,000 m2) lake is just under 1 mile (1.6 km) long and about 3⁄8 mile (0.60 km) across at its widest point. The primary water flow into the lake comes from the swamp on Pumping Station Road in Ridgefield, Connecticut.The lake was created in 1927 by damming a stream and flooding Hoyt's pond and surrounding swamp. Two homeowners' associations (Truesdale Lake Property Owners' Association - TLPOA, and Truesdale Estates Association - TEA) manage the lake and maintain two beaches available to their members.

Palmer–Lewis Estate is a historic estate and national historic district located at Bedford, Westchester County, New York. The district contains 12 contributing buildings, one contributing site, and four contributing structures. It includes the main house, 15 farm-related outbuildings, and landscape features such as stone walls, walled fields, the remains of an orchard and vegetable garden, a barnyard complex, and the ruins of a dairy barn. The main house is a late 18th-century residence redesigned about 1860 in the Italianate style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Mead Memorial Chapel is a historic Episcopal chapel at 2 Chapel Road in the hamlet of Waccabuc, town of Lewisboro, Westchester County, New York. It was designed by Hobart B. Upjohn (1876-1949) and built in 1905–1906 in a late Gothic Revival style. It is a rectangular stone building with a steep slate roof. A wing was added in 1929, known as Mead Memorial Hall, and it houses the Mead family archives. It features a bell tower pierced by Gothic arch shaped louvered windows. It was built by Sarah Frances Studwell Mead as a memorial to her husband, George Washington Mead (1827-1899). The Mead family also owned the separately listed The Homestead. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The Cross River Reservoir is a reservoir in the New York City water supply system located directly east and north of the northern Westchester County, New York, Hamlet of Katonah. Part of the system's Croton Watershed, it lies within the towns of Bedford, Lewisboro, and Pound Ridge, about 1 mile (1.6 km) east of the village of Katonah, and over 25 mi (40 km) north of New York City. It was constructed around the start of the 20th century by impounding the Cross River, a tributary of the Croton River, which eventually flows into the Hudson River. The reservoir was finally put into service in 1908. The resulting body of water is one of 16 (12 reservoirs and 4 controlled lakes) in the Croton Watershed, the southernmost of New York City's watersheds. The reservoir is approximately 3.2 mi (5.1 km) long, has a drainage basin of 30 square miles (78 km²), and can hold 10.3 billion US gallons (39,000,000 m3) of water at full capacity, making it one of the city's smaller reservoirs. To reach the city, water flows through Cross River into the Muscoot Reservoir, then down that one into the New Croton Reservoir, where it enters the New Croton Aqueduct in Yorktown. Via the aqueduct, it flows into The Bronx, entering the Jerome Park Reservoir.

Pound Ridge Historic District is a national historic district located at Pound Ridge, Westchester County, New York. The district contains 46 contributing buildings and encompasses almost all of the hamlet. The majority of the buildings in the district date between 1780 and 1852. The earliest building was built in 1758 and is the Capt. Joseph Lockwood House (only four families have lived in it since Joseph Lockwood build it). Notable buildings include: Methodist Episcopal (Community) Church (1833), Patterson Memorial Presbyterian Church (conant Hall, 1893), Presbyterian Lecture Hall (Pound Ridge Town Hall, 1852), Parker Store (1906), Pound Ridge Village School (Hiram Halle Memorial Library, 1851), Aaron Wood's Mill (ca. 1800), Partridge Thatcher House (1788), Maj. Ebenezer Lockwood House (ca. 1780), Alsop Hunt Lockwood House (1840), and Solomon Lockwood House (ca. 1800).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
