St Anne's Church is in Church Road, Singleton, Lancashire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Poulton, the archdeaconry of Lancaster, and the Diocese of Blackburn. Its benefice is united with those of St Chad, Poulton, and St Hilda, Carleton. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Singleton is a village and civil parish in Lancashire, England. It is situated on the coastal plain called the Fylde. It is located south-east of Poulton-le-Fylde, and at the 2001 census had a population of 877, increasing to 889 at the 2011 Census. The parish is sometimes referred to as two parts – Great Singleton is the larger part containing the village, and Little Singleton is a small area north of the village bordering the River Wyre.

The Blackpool Built-up Area or Blackpool Urban Area is an urban area in Lancashire, England, consisting of the large town of Blackpool along with several surrounding towns and villages. Defined by the ONS it had a population of 239,409 in 2011 this is considerably down on the 2001 population of 261,088 mainly due to Fleetwood no longer being considered as part of the built-up area. The population of the Blackpool Urban Area has been declining for some time with the 2001 population down 0.1% from the 1991 figure of 261,355. The Blackpool subdivision itself has a population of 147,633, although during the summer months the population of the town can rise to three times this figure. According to Lancashire Tourist Board there were 360,000 people living in the town during April and August 2003, the majority of these people working in Blackpool for the summer season. The entirety of the Blackpool Urban Area lies within the FY postcode area. The code refers to the Fylde, making it one of only five postcode areas in the UK that does not reference one of its settlements (although its official name is the Blackpool postcode area). The built up area is split over three local government districts: the Blackpool unitary authority area, the Borough of Fylde and the Borough of Wyre. Mains Hall (also known as Mains Hall Manor) is an historic building on Mains Lane in Singleton, Lancashire, England. It is Grade II listed, dating to the 16th century. A manor house, from the 11th century, is believed to have once stood on the site. Today's manor house was remodelled in the 17th century and altered again in the 18th century and beyond. It is now a hotel. It is in rendered brick with a slate roof, and has an irregular plan. The building has two storeys, and a hall range with projecting gabled bays, a large extension to the rear, and other additions. Most of the windows have been altered but there is one two-light mullioned window, and inside are the remains of some of the original timberwork. George IV is believed to have visited the manor in the early 19th century, while Cardinal Allen hid there to evade the Protestant authorities during the Reformation. The monks of Cockersand Abbey were granted right of passage at the manor. The manor was home to the Hesketh family for around 300 years; it was also the home of the Fitzherberts. Roger and Adele Yeomans purchased the property in 1989, when it was a bed and breakfast. A fire in 2002 revealed that the manor's walls were still the original wattle and daub construction. During restoration work, the Yeomans also discovered a secret chapel. An 18th-century octagonal dovecote, constructed of handmade brick, stands around 150 metres (490 ft) north of the manor. It is also Grade II listed.

Hambleton Hall is an historic building in Hambleton, Lancashire, England. Built in 1710, it is a house in pebbledashed brick with a slate roof, in two storeys and three bays. There is a continuous rendered string course between the storeys. The windows are modern and have plain reveals. Above the doorway is an inscribed plaque.

The A586 is a road in England, which runs from Garstang to Blackpool, in Lancashire. The road runs a total distance of 13 miles (21 km), in a roughly east–west direction, and is both urban and rural in character. It begins near Churchtown (53.8813°N 2.7804°W / 53.8813; -2.7804 (A586 road (eastern end))), south of Garstang and just east of Catterall, as a junction on the A6 Preston Lancaster New Road, immediately to the north of Kirkland Bridge. It runs as a winding rural single-lane road 2 miles (3.2 km) south west to St Michael's on Wyre, where it crosses the River Wyre. Becoming Garstang Road, it runs west, bypassing Great Eccleston and Little Eccleston, and sharing with the A585 as Garstang New Road between Larbreck and Little Singleton, about 4 miles (6.4 km) past St Michael's on Wyre. This is a wider, straighter stretch of road. The road splits from the A585 after approximately 1 mile (1.6 km), at the Five Lane Ends in Little Singleton, and enters the outskirts of Poulton-le-Fylde as Garstang Road East. From here, the road becomes progressively more urban as it reaches the suburbs of Blackpool. After 3.5 miles (5.6 km), as Poulton Road it crosses the A587 at the Plymouth Road roundabout, and becomes Westcliffe Drive as it passes through Layton, and Talbot Road shortly after. The road continues as Talbot Road past Blackpool North railway station, and passes through the town centre one-way system, eventually terminating at Talbot Square (53.8188°N 3.0558°W / 53.8188; -3.0558 (A586 road (western end))), where it meets the A584 and A583 next to the North Pier.

It was created for the 1945 general election, when the former constituency of Blackpool was split in two, and abolished for the 1997 general election. It was then largely replaced by the new Blackpool North & Fleetwood constituency.

Shard Riverside Inn is a public house and boutique hotel in the English village of Hambleton, Lancashire. Dating to 1766, it stands on the northern banks of the River Wyre, about 600 feet (180 m) east of Shard Bridge, for which it is named. The bridge used to be immediately to the west of the building, but a new structure (the third overall) was built in 1993, a few yards downstream, and its predecessor demolished. The building's address, Old Bridge Lane, references this.

Shard Bridge is a bridge in the English county of Lancashire. It spans the River Wyre, connecting Singleton, on the southern side of the river, to Hambleton, on its northern side (an area known locally as "Over Wyre"), carrying both automotive and pedestrian traffic of Shard Road (the A588). The word shard is a Roman term for "low crossing point on a river".The original bridge was built in 1864, and it went on to replace a ferry service between Stanah and Wardleys Creek further downstream to the west. The bridge was moved a few yards downstream in 1993 when the first of its two current iterations was constructed. Formerly a toll bridge, Shard Bridge is now a free municipal crossing.

Hambleton lies approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east of its post town, Poulton-le-Fylde, and about 7 miles (11 km) north-east of the seaside resort of Blackpool. In the 2001 United Kingdom census, the parish had a population of 2,678, increasing to 2,744 at the 2011 census.Hambleton is part of the Borough of Wyre and is in the parliamentary constituency of Wyre and Preston North.
