Harbor Club Condominiums is a high-rise residential building in San Diego, California, United States composed of two towers of equal height. The 41-story towers have a height of 424 feet (129 m) and are a prominent fixture in the city's skyline. Located in the Marina district of Downtown San Diego, Harbor Club was designed by architects BPA Architecture Planning Interiors. The condos are located near the San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park. The towers are currently the eighth-tallest buildings in San Diego.

Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade is a 12-acre (4.9 ha) linear park and memorial promenade in San Diego, California, in the United States. Children's Park lies within the promenade. The promenade was dedicated in 1992.

AsiaPOP Comic Convention, also known as AsiaPOP Comicon, or simply APCC, is an annual comic book fan convention held in Metro Manila, Philippines. APCC features international brands in the fields of comics, toys, animation, film, television and music within the pop culture phenomena. The convention has since included a larger range of pop culture and entertainment elements across virtually all genres, such as video games, books and sports. APCC is the largest pop culture convention in the Philippines and South East Asia, and one of the largest in Asia.

Breaking of the Chains (1995) is an outdoor public art sculpture by Mel Edwards, installed along San Diego's Martin Luther King Jr. Promenade, in the U.S. state of California.The work is a large and tall metal sculpture that serves as a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and symbolizes the breaking the chains of discrimination. At the base of the sculpture is a plaque with a quote by Martin Luther King, reading, "along the way of life, someone must have the sense enough, and morality enough to cut off the chain of hate. This can only be done by projecting the ethic of love to the center of our lives."

San Diego Comic-Con International is a comic book convention and nonprofit multi-genre entertainment event held annually in San Diego, California, United States since 1970. The name, as given on its website, is Comic-Con International: San Diego; but it is commonly known simply as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con or "SDCC".The convention was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970 by a group of San Diegans that included Shel Dorf, Richard Alf, Ken Krueger, and Mike Towry; later, it was called the "San Diego Comic Book Convention", Dorf said during an interview that he hoped the first Con would bring in 500 attendees. It is a four-day event (Thursday–Sunday) held during the summer (in July since 2003) at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego. On the Wednesday evening prior to the official opening, professionals, exhibitors, and pre-registered guests for all four days can attend a pre-event "Preview Night" to give attendees the opportunity to walk the exhibit hall and see what will be available during the convention. Comic-Con International also produces WonderCon, held in Anaheim, and SAM: Storytelling Across Media, a conference held in 2016 in San Francisco and beginning in 2018 annually at the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego. Since 1974, Comic-Con has bestowed its annual Inkpot Award on guests and persons of interest in the popular arts industries, as well as on members of Comic-Con's board of directors and the Convention committee. It is also the home of the Will Eisner Awards. Originally showcasing primarily comic books and science fiction/fantasy related film, television, and similar popular arts, the convention has since included a larger range of pop culture and entertainment elements across virtually all genres, including horror, Western animation, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels. In 2010 and each year subsequently, it filled the San Diego Convention Center to capacity with more than 130,000 attendees. In addition to drawing huge crowds, the event holds several Guinness World Records including the largest annual comic and pop culture festival in the world.SDCC had been canceled twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The year 2020 marked the first time that SDCC had missed a year since its establishment.

The San Diego Convention Center is the primary convention center in San Diego, California. It is located in the Marina district of downtown San Diego near the Gaslamp Quarter, at 111 West Harbor Drive. The center is managed by the San Diego Convention Center Corporation, a non-profit public benefit corporation created by the City of San Diego.

The Stingaree was a neighborhood of San Diego between the boom of the 1880s and the demolition and vice eradication campaign of 1916. The reason for the neighborhood's fame was its role as the home to the city's "undesirables", including prostitutes, pimps, drug dealers and gamblers. For similar reasons of societal exclusion, it was also the site of the city's first Chinatown. Additionally, the neighborhood was home to many other lower-class citizens, and was in the center of a wider blue-collar residential area encompassing much of the city south of Broadway.Though the name "Stingaree" (a colloquial pronunciation of "stingray") refers primarily to the period before 1916, the neighborhood's character as a vice district lasted until its massive redevelopment in the 1980s.

Convention Center is a station of the Green and Silver Lines on the San Diego Trolley. It is located in the Marina District section of the city, which features a variety of waterfront apartments just west of Downtown. The San Diego Convention Center is located adjacent to the station, and Petco Park is less than half a mile away. This station opened June 30, 1990 as part of the Orange Line's (then called the East Line) Bayside Extension.It was closed from April 9 through July 2012 to undergo renovations as part of the Trolley Renewal Project.On September 2, 2012, service to this station by the Orange Line was replaced by the Green Line as part of a system redesign.

The Buel–Town Building is an historic structure located at 278 5th Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, in the U.S. state of California. It was built in 1898. The Buel–Town Building was the first Gaslamp Quarter building to be rehabilitated, in 1973, kicking off the rejuvenation of this neighborhood near San Diego's downtown; from then it housed the Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant.

The Grand Pacific Hotel is an historic structure located at 366 5th Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, in the U.S. state of California. It was built in 1887.
