Brigham railway station

St Bridget's Church is in the village of Brigham, Cumbria, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Solway, the archdeaconry of West Cumberland, and the diocese of Carlisle. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

It is on the A594 road and is 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north west of Cockermouth, 2.6 miles (4.2 km) east of Dearham, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) east of Maryport, 7.4 miles (11.9 km) north east of Workington and 27 miles (43.5 km) south west of Carlisle. In 1931 the parish had a population of 163.

Dovenby Lodge railway station was on the single track Derwent Branch of the Maryport and Carlisle Railway (M&CR) in the then county of Cumberland, now Cumbria, England. The station was opened in 1867. It was a private station solely for the use of the Ballentine-Dykes family of Dovenby Lodge, one of whom was Chairman of the Maryport and Carlisle Railway in the 1840s.The station is variously referred to as "Dovenby", "Dovenby Park" and "Dovenby Lodge"; an image of a ticket bearing the name Dovenby Lodge is included in the standard work on non-public stations. Letters exchanged in 1868 between the family and the railway concern a parcel of land and a lodge at the station.The station was available for use until the line closed in 1935, though it never appeared in public timetables. Unusually for those times the tracks were lifted not long after closure, with a tragic consequence; when a bridge was being demolished a girder fell on two men and killed them.

Broughton is a civil parish in the Borough of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, consisting of Great Broughton and Little Broughton. It is located on the River Derwent, about 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Workington and 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Cockermouth. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 1,727, decreasing slightly to 1,704 at the 2011 Census.

Great Broughton railway station briefly served the village of Great Broughton, near Cockermouth in Cumberland (now in Cumbria), England.The station was opened by the Cleator and Workington Junction Railway (C&WJR) on 1 September 1908 on its "Northern Extension" from Calva Junction on the northern edge of Workington to the Maryport and Carlisle Railway's Derwent Branch at Linefoot. The C&WJR built this 7 miles 30 chains (11.9 km) line to connect the C&WJR with Carlisle and beyond. The line was double track from Workington to Seaton, then single through Great Broughton to Linefoot. Most stations on C&WJR lines had heavy industrial neighbours, such as ironworks next to Cleator Moor West, or served primarily industrial workforces, such as Keekle Colliers' Platform. Great Broughton, however, was a fairly isolated country village, though there were small collieries nearby.
