Denzell House

Dunham Massey POW Camp was a POW camp detaining German prisoners of war. It was located in the eastern corner of Dunham Massey Home Park in an area which by the 21st century had been repurposed as a golf course and housing. Initially constructed for US Army troops, in November 1944 it began its new use and by the end of the war it held approximately 6,000 prisoners in 220 buildings.

Some district records are held at the Trafford Local Studies centre. Bowdon has formed part of two Poor Law Unions: Altrincham (1837 to 1895); Bucklow (1895 to 1930).

Built in the late 18th century with later 19th‑century additions, it appears on the 1877 and 1938 Ordnance Survey maps as an unnamed inn. As of 2025, it is owned by Greene King and operated as part of the Chef & Brewer chain.

The Church of St Margaret is an Anglican parish church on Dunham Road in Altrincham, a market town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. It forms part of the ecclesiastical deanery of Bowdon in the Diocese of Chester. The building was designed by the architect William Hayley in the Perpendicular Gothic style and erected between 1853 and 1855. It was extended in the early 1920s to designs by Walter Tapper. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade II* listed building.

It is a scheduled monument. The castle is located north of the River Bollin and south of a deep ravine (grid reference SJ74798598).

Loreto Grammar School is located in Trafford, England. Pupils must sit an entrance exam to enter, and fulfil several other entry criteria. It is part of the worldwide Loreto community, and the Altrincham school was founded by the Sisters of Loreto in 1909. It has also assumed the status of an academy (30 August 2012) and is a specialist school for maths and science.The school's values are justice, truth, sincerity, freedom, joy, and more recently excellence and internationality.At the school there are 1050 students and 100 staff members. It has improved substantially since the last inspection and has demonstrated excellent capacity to develop further".

Altrincham ( OL-tring-əm, locally ) is a market town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, south of the River Mersey. It is 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Manchester, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Sale and 10 miles (16 km) east of Warrington. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 52,419.Within the boundaries of the historic county of Cheshire, Altrincham was established as a market town in 1290, a time when the economy of most communities was based on agriculture rather than trade, and there is still a market in the town. Further socioeconomic development came with the extension of the Bridgewater Canal to Altrincham in 1765 and the arrival of the railway in 1849, stimulating industrial activity in the town. Outlying villages were absorbed by Altrincham's subsequent growth, along with the grounds of Dunham Massey Hall, formerly the home of the Earl of Stamford, and now a tourist attraction with three Grade I Listed Buildings and a deer park. Altrincham has good transport links to Manchester, Sale, Stretford, Warrington and Stockport among other destinations. The town has a strong middle-class presence: there has been a steady increase in Altrincham's middle classes since the 19th century. It is also home to Altrincham F.C. and three ice hockey clubs: Manchester Storm, Altrincham Aces and Trafford Tornados.

Black Moss Covert Nature Reserve is a 2.1 hectare nature reserve in England managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. It is a Site of Biological Importance and is located on Carrington Moss, two kilometres west of Altrincham town centre (grid reference SJ745889).
