Haifa East railway station was built in 1904 by the Ottoman authorities as the western terminus of their Jezreel Valley railway. In the 1920s, under the British Mandate, Palestine Railways extended the Eastern Railway north to connect with the Jezreel Valley railway at Haifa station. At this time, Haifa was the only place in the world to have direct railway services to three continents: Istanbul in Europe, Kantarah in Africa, and Medina in Asia. To this day, the distances on the Israel Railways main line are measured from Haifa East station. As the first railway station in Haifa, it was originally named just "Haifa Station", and changed its name in 1937 when the new Haifa Center railway station opened. Until July 1940, Haifa East railway station housed the head office of Palestine Railways; but in 1940, citing the unfavourable physical environment in the busy downtown and the physical vulnerability next to the port of Haifa in time of war, the administration started moving its branches into Khoury House at the intersection of Nevi'im st. and Khoury st. During the Battle of Haifa (1948), Khoury House was burnt down together with all records of Palestine Railways; due to this, the headquarters of the emerging Israel Railways were established at Haifa Center railway station.The original station building at Haifa East was heavily damaged by an Irgun bombing on 20 September 1946, and only a small part of it is preserved. Currently, it houses some Israel Railways offices; the five-track former engine shed, situated across the tracks from the station building and built in c.1918, houses the Israel Railway Museum; and the station itself is used as a marshalling yard and a stabling point.

The Al-Jarina Mosque or Al-Jerina Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الجرينة, romanized: Masjid al-Jarina, lit. 'Threshing Floor Mosque'; Hebrew: מסגד אל-ג'רינה), also known as the Great Mosque of Haifa (Arabic: مسجد حيفا الكبير, romanized: Masjid Haifa al-Kabir), was the main mosque of Haifa, Israel. Built in 1775 CE, during the Ottoman rule of the Levant, the mosque was originally named al-Nasr Mosque (Arabic: مسجد النصر, lit. 'Victory Mosque'), in honor of Admiral Hassan Pasha al-Jazairli's victory over local ruler Daher al-Omar in August 1775. The name "Al-Jarina" was given due to its proximity to the open market square known as Jarina. The mosque was located in downtown Haifa on Natanzon Street (formerly al-Umayya Street), near the Sail Tower within Haifa's Governmental Center. The mosque was struck by an Iranian missile during the Iran–Israel war while Muslim clerics were gathering inside on June 20, 2025; and injured worshippers and clerics. As of July 2025, the mosque was closed for worship.

The Sail Tower (Hebrew: בית המפרש, Beit HaMifras), officially District Government Center - Building B (Hebrew: קרית הממשלה המחוזית חיפה - בניין ב) is a skyscraper and government building in Haifa, Israel. It is part of Haifa's District Government Center (responsible for the Haifa District), named after Yitzhak Rabin. Its construction began in 1999 and was completed on February 28, 2002. It has 29 floors and stands at 137 m (405 ft). As such, it was the tallest skyscraper in Haifa until 2003, surpassed by the IEC Tower. Counting antennas, it is still the tallest building in Haifa. Without the antennas, the sails of the Sail Tower reach 113 m, and its main roof is at 95 m.The District Government Center in Haifa was planned to combine new and old elements. In contrast with the modern Sail Tower, the promenade leading up to it was designed in an older Middle Eastern style, including mosaic on the floors depicting the history of Haifa. One of the maps depicted dates back to 1773.

Wadi Salib (Arabic: وادي صليب, Hebrew: ואדי סאליב; lit. Valley of the Cross) is a primarily Jewish neighbourhood located in downtown Haifa, Israel, on the lower northeastern slope of Mount Carmel, between the Hadar HaCarmel and the city's historic center and CBD.

It is located along the Israeli Mediterranean coastline. Exodus 1947 was a packet steamship that was built in the United States in 1928 as President Warfield for the Baltimore Steam Packet Company. From her completion in 1928 until 1942 she carried passengers and freight across Chesapeake Bay between Norfolk, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland. From 1942 President Warfield served in the Second World War as a barracks and training ship for the British Armed Forces. In 1944 she was commissioned into the United States Navy as USS President Warfield (IX-169), a station and accommodation ship for the D-Day landing on Omaha Beach. In 1947 she was renamed Exodus 1947 to take part in Aliyah Bet. She took 4,515 Jewish migrants from France to Mandatory Palestine. Most were Holocaust survivors who had no legal immigration certificates for Palestine. The Royal Navy boarded her in international waters and took her to Haifa, where ships were waiting to return the migrants to refugee camps in Europe.

Hadar HaCarmel (Hebrew: הדר הכרמל lit. "Splendor of the Carmel"; or simply known as the neighbourhood of Hadar Hebrew: שכונת הדר) is a district of Haifa, Israel. Located on the northern slope of Mount Carmel between the upper and lower city overlooking the Port of Haifa and Haifa Bay, it was once the commercial center of Haifa.

The Archeparchy of Haifa and the Holy Land (in Latin: Archieparchia Ptolemaidensis Maronitarum in the Holy Land) is a branch of the Maronite Church immediately subject to the Patriarch of Antioch of the Maronites. Since 2012, it has been governed by Archbishop Moussa El-Hage, OAM.

The Paris Square (Hebrew: כיכר פריז) is a public square in Haifa, Israel, located in Downtown Haifa. It was built during the Ottoman period.

The Israel National Museum of Science, Technology, and Space (also known as Madatech) (Hebrew: מדעטק – המוזיאון הלאומי למדע, טכנולוגיה וחלל MadaTek – HaMuze'on HaLe'umi LeMada, Tekhnologya VeHalal, Arabic: متحف إسرائيل الوطني للعلوم والتكنولوجيا والفضاء) is a science and technology museum in the city of Haifa, Israel. The museum has approximately 200,000 visitors annually.
