The Zwijnaarde science park is a science park of Ghent University, located in Zwijnaarde near Ghent (Belgium). The science park has an area of 52 hectare (ha) and comprises the Ardoyen campus (30 ha) of the University of Ghent and the Ardoyen science park (22 ha). The Ardoyen campus comprises several institutes of the engineering and science faculty of the university. The science park comprises a business incubator and about 40 companies employing about 1500 scientists. Most of the companies are biotech and ICT companies, which are spin-offs of the university or the Flanders Institute for Biotechnology (VIB).

Zwijnaarde (pronounced [ˈzʋɛi̯naːrdə]) is a village in the municipality of Ghent, Belgium. It is known for its fair and its Zwijntjes beer. A cluster of biotech companies is located at the Zwijnaarde science park, with biotech companies such as Innogenetics, and DevGen. In 2013 at Zwijnaarde, the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology was supervising a trial of 448 poplar trees genetically engineered to produce less lignin so that they would be more suitable for conversion into biofuels.Different youth organisations are active in Zwijnaarde, such as Jeugdhuis Chaos, Chiro Ambo and KLJ Zwijnaarde.

Ghent University Hospital (Dutch: Universitair Ziekenhuis Gent; UZ Gent) is one of the largest hospitals in Belgium. It is closely linked to Ghent University, the university's rector also being the hospital's president. Both the university and the hospital are autonomous entities of the Flemish Government. The hospital has more than 1,000 beds and about 6,000 employees. The location of the hospital is also called "Campus Heymans", named after Nobel Prize winner Corneille Heymans. Located nearby is Ghelamco Arena, a stadium that opened in 2013.

The Ghelamco Arena (also called Arteveldestadion) is a multi-use stadium in Ghent, Belgium. It hosts the home matches of football club K.A.A. Gent and was officially opened on 17 July 2013, making it the first newly built Belgian football stadium since 1974.The stadium seats 20,000 and replaced the Jules Ottenstadion, which had been Gent's home since 1920. The stadium hosted its first competitive match on 4 August 2013, when Gent won 2–1 over KV Mechelen.

VIB is a research institute located in Flanders, Belgium. It was founded by the Flemish government in 1995, and became a full-fledged institute on 1 January 1996. The main objective of VIB is to strengthen the excellence of Flemish life sciences research and to turn the results into new economic growth. Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station (Dutch: Station Gent-Sint-Pieters, French: Gare de Gand-Saint-Pierre), officially Gent-Sint-Pieters, is the main railway station in Ghent, East Flanders, Belgium, and the fourth-busiest in Belgium and busiest in Flanders, with 17.65 million passengers a year. The station is operated by the National Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS/SNCB).

Ghent University Museum or Gents Universitair Museum (established 2020) is a science museum in Ghent, Belgium, affiliated to Ghent University. It subsumes several of the university's heritage collections, including that of the Museum of the History of Sciences which closed in 2018. The opening, originally planned for March 2020, was delayed until October 2020 by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Belgium.

I Love Techno is an international techno music event that takes place in Montpellier, France. National and international DJs perform every year at this event. Associated with the event is a set of music prizes known as the Elektropedia Awards, which are given for excellence in various categories related to techno and the broader electronic dance music genre.

The International School Ghent is an English-language international school that provides an international education to students aged 3 to 12. The campus is shared with a local partner school De Kleine Icarus and lies in the heart of Ghent within the Flanders region of Belgium. The school building is located inside the Leopoldskazerne, a military complex in the centre of Ghent.

The Six Days of Ghent (Dutch: Zesdaagse Vlaanderen-Gent) is a six-day track cycling race held annually in Ghent, Belgium. It takes place in the Kuipke velodrome in Ghent's Citadelpark. The 2006 event from 21 November to 26 November was marred by the death of one of the riders. During the fifth day's racing, Isaac Gálvez of Spain rode into the barrier edging the outside of the track and died on his way to hospital. The event includes the Memorial Patrick Sercu madison, named after the former race director at Ghent and holder of the world record for number of six-day victories, Patrick Sercu, who died in 2019. The 2009 event took place from 24 November to 29 November. A Danish team formed by Alex Rasmussen and his companion Michael Mørkøv won with a 3-point difference. The previous year's winner, Iljo Keisse, ended second. The 2010 event was held from 23 November to 28 November. The track used for the event, the Kuipke, is measured at 166.66 m, with steep side banks surrounding the track.
