Clinton Hill is a neighborhood in north-central Brooklyn, a borough of New York City. It is bordered by the Brooklyn Navy Yard and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to the north, Williamsburg to the northeast, Classon Avenue and Bedford–Stuyvesant to the east, Atlantic Avenue and Prospect Heights to the south and southwest and Vanderbilt Avenue and Fort Greene to the west."The Hill", as the general area was known – with a maximum elevation of 95 feet (29 m), the highest in the area – was believed to have health benefits because many people believed that disease was more prevalent in low-lying areas. The area is named after Clinton Avenue, which in turn was named in honor of New York Governor DeWitt Clinton (1769–1828). The main thoroughfare is DeKalb Avenue. The affluent neighborhood's mixture of apartment buildings, mansions, brownstone and brick rowhouses, and the Pratt Institute and St. Joseph's College, built at various times in a number of different styles, is a great part of its charm.Clinton Hill is part of Brooklyn Community District 2, and its primary ZIP Codes are 11238 and 11205. It is patrolled by the 88th Precinct of the New York City Police Department.

The Classon Avenue station (locally KLAW-sin) is a station on the IND Crosstown Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Classon and Lafayette Avenues on the border of Bedford–Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, it is served at all times by the G train.

St. Mary's Episcopal Church is an historic Episcopal church at 230 Classon Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, New York City. It was built in 1858 of Belleville brownstone in the Gothic Revival style. The building features a square tower with polygonal extension and a broach spire. The Johnson Memorial Parish House was built in 1892. Also on the property is the rectory; a 2+1⁄2-story brick house with a mansard roof and large oriel window. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.Parishioners are largely Anglicans of West Indian descent. Community events include concerts, flea markets, brunches, classes, and lectures. In July 2011, the Sacristy of the Church was renovated.

The Pratt Institute School of Architecture is located in New York City with courses being taught at Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses. In 2012 the journal 'DesignIntelligence' ranked it in the ten best architecture schools in the United States. Alumni include William Van Alen, Ralph Appelbaum Associates, Annabelle Selldorf, Richard Foster, George Ranalli, Carlos Zapata, and Pritzker Prize winner Peter Zumthor. The School was created in 1928 and by 1954 was recognized as being full degree-granting Undergraduate and Graduate program. Undergraduate architecture is the largest program in both the School of Architecture and Pratt Institute at large with over 550 students. Within the Brooklyn campus, the school of architecture is located a block from the main campus in Higgins Hall (designed by Steven Holl).

Pratt Institute is a private university with its main campus in Brooklyn, New York. Broken Angel or the Broken Angel house was a building located at 4/6 Downing Street in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, at the intersection of Downing and Quincy street. The house was featured prominently as a backdrop in the film Dave Chappelle's Block Party and was demolished in 2014.

The Bedford–Nostrand Avenues station is a station on the IND Crosstown Line of the New York City Subway. Located at Lafayette Avenue between Bedford and Nostrand Avenues in Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, it is served by the G train at all times.
