Ďáblice Observatory

Ďáblice cemetery (Czech: Ďáblický hřbitov) is a graveyard in Ďáblice municipal district, Prague. The entrance pavilions were designed by Vlastislav Hofman.The cemetery was opened in 1914 and over 20,000 registered graves are located here. As well as single and family graves there are about 70 mass graves containing bodies of over 14,000 people in total. Since 1943, Czech people executed by Nazis or killed while fighting Nazis were buried there; since 1945 executed Nazi criminals and since 1948 people who were executed or died in communist prisons. In 2014 the body of P. Josef Toufar was identified and exhumed from one of the mass graves in the course of his beatification. There is serious intention to declare this part of the cemetery a national monument. This initiative is hampered by the objection that, apart from thousands of the victims of Nazism and hundreds of the victims of communism, the mass graves also contain thousands of bodies or body parts of unknown people who died in Prague hospitals and were subsequently used for pathological or academic autopsies.The bodies of Jan Kubiš and Jozef Gabčík, the assassins of Reinhard Heydrich in 1942, were secretly buried in a mass grave in this cemetery after being killed by Nazi German troops. In 2014 there were calls for their remains to be removed from the cemetery and be given a dignified burial fitting "the heroes of anti-Nazi resistance". Also buried in an anonymous pit at Ďáblice is Nazi war criminal Karl Hermann Frank, buried after his hanging in 1946.

Senate district 23 – Prague 8 is an electoral district of the Senate of the Czech Republic, which is entirely located in the Capital City of Prague. From 2024, a ODS member Vladimíra Ludková is representing the district.

Ďáblice is a municipal district (městská část) and cadastral area (katastrální území) in Prague. It is located in the northern part of the city. As of 2021, there were 3,750 inhabitants living in Ďáblice. The first written record of Ďáblice is from the 13th century. The village became part of Prague in 1968.

Ládví (Czech pronunciation: [ˈlaːdviː]) is a Prague Metro station on Line C. The station was opened on 26 June 2004 as the northern terminus of the extension of Line C from Nádraží Holešovice. It remained the temporary northern terminus of Line C until the line was extended to Letňany on 8 May 2008.The station is 8.8 metres below ground level, and contains two tracks on opposite sides of the station platform. The station has one exit in the middle leading to tram stops and a bus station.

Kobylisy Shooting Range (Czech: Kobyliská střelnice) is a former military shooting range located in Kobylisy, a northern suburb of Prague, Czech Republic. The shooting range was established in 1889–1891, on a site that was at the time far outside the city, as a training facility for the Austro-Hungarian (and, later, Czechoslovak) army. During the Nazi occupation it was used for mass executions as part of retaliatory measures against the Czech people after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in 1942. About 550 Czech patriots of every social rank were killed here, most of them between 30 May and 3 July 1942, when executions took place almost every day. Their bodies were subsequently incinerated in Strašnice Crematorium. The site was converted to a memorial after World War II, and its current dimensions date to the 1970s when the large paneláks (Communist-era tower blocks) of a new housing estate encroached upon it. Kobylisy Shooting Range has had the status of national cultural monument since 1978. Today it is freely accessible and is within ten minutes' walk of the Kobylisy or Ládví metro stations.

Střížkov (Czech pronunciation: [ˈstr̝iːʃkof]) is a Prague Metro station of Line C. The station was opened on 8 May 2008 as part of the extension of Line C from Ládví to Letňany. It was designed by Patrik Kotas.

The Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is a research institution founded in 1922, specializing in the field of Oriental Studies. It is one of the oldest institutions dedicated to the study of Oriental cultures in Central and Eastern Europe. Since 1992, it has operated under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The Oriental Institute collaborates with universities throughout the Czech Republic for teaching and training purposes and organizes public events and lectures.

The Institute of Information Theory and Automation (UTIA) is a public research institution in Prague administered by the Czech Academy of Sciences. It was established in 1959, and conducts research in, and offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees, in the fields of computer science, signal and image processing, pattern recognition, system science, and control theory. The institute publishes a journal, Kybernetika.

The Office for Foreign Relations and Information (ÚZSI) (Czech: Úřad pro zahraniční styky a informace) is the main foreign intelligence service of the Czech Republic responsible for the collection, analysis and dissemination of intelligence. It is mandated to provide accurate and timely intelligence to the Government of the Czech Republic that is vital to support and protect foreign and economic policy interests. The service also protects the country from terrorism, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, economic crimes, etc. Powers of the service are determined by the Act N.153/1994 Coll., the Intelligence Services of the Czech Republic Act which also lays out the structure of the organization. Officers of the service are mandated to act in accordance with the agency's code of ethics.

Střížkov (German: Strischkau) is an area of the Czech capital Prague, divided between the districts Prague 8 and Prague 9. Střížkov has 14,297 inhabitants (2015).

Stadion SK Prosek is a stadium in Prague, Czech Republic. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Bohemians Prague (Střížkov).

Kobylisy is a district in the north of Prague, located in Prague 8. The eastern part of the district is home to a large panel housing estate with over 10,000 residents. The area is served by Kobylisy and Ládví stations on the Prague Metro, both of which opened in 2004.
