Pillgwenlly (Welsh: Pilgwenlli), usually known as Pill, is a community (civil parish) and coterminous electoral district (ward) in the city of Newport, South Wales.

St Michael's is a Roman Catholic church in Pillgwenlly in Newport, Wales. It located at the corner of Clarence Street and St Michael Street. St Michael's has been Grade II listed since January 1997.The construction of the church was carried out by volunteer Irish immigrant labourers. The cost of the church was met by public subscription. The creation of the church served the Irish immigrants working at the Newport docks.The church is built from Pennant sandstone dressed Bath stone. St Michael's has a slate roof with two prominent conical ventilators made from copper. The stained glass windows were installed in 1884. The windows were manufactured by Mayer of Munich.The South Wales Echo described the church upon its completion in 1887 as a "fine, spacious edifice, having an elevation of 61 feet, and being divided by an arcading of six arches into nave and aisles. Provision is made for one thousand sittings, and when the design is fully carried out, a spire will be added to the present tower, of an altitude altogether of 100 feet...it has concrete foundations formed of Aberthaw pebble ground lime".

Pill Harriers RFC are a Welsh rugby union club based in Newport in South Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Newport Gwent Dragons.

St Paul's Church is a Grade II listed building in Commercial Street in the city centre of Newport, South Wales, built in Victorian gothic style in 1835–36. It was a parish church of the Church in Wales in the Diocese of Monmouth until 2016, when the congregation moved leaving the building vacant. It was sold in 2018.

The Newport Transporter Bridge (Welsh: Pont Gludo Casnewydd) is a transporter bridge that crosses the River Usk in Newport, South East Wales. The bridge is the lowest crossing on the River Usk. It is a Grade I listed structure. It is one of fewer than 10 transporter bridges that remain in use worldwide; only a few dozen were ever built. It is one of only two operational transporter bridges in Britain, the other being the Tees Transporter Bridge.

Rowecord Engineering Ltd was a Welsh structural steel contractor that specialised in sports facilities, footbridges, and heavy industry. Landmark works include the Olympic Aquatics Centre roof, Mary Rose Museum, Cardiff City Stadium, Liberty Stadium and Newport City footbridge. Neptune Works, its former headquarters, is partly built over the River Usk.

The Royal Gwent Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Brenhinol Gwent) is a local general hospital in the city of Newport. It is managed by the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Since 2020, the hospital no longer has a full Emergency Department, and redirects those with a serious illness or injury to call 999 or go to attend the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran. The Royal Gwent hospital has a 24-hour Minor Injuries Unit.

George Street Bridge [1] is a crossing of the River Usk in the community of Victoria in Newport, South Wales. It is a Grade II* listed structure.

Newport Centre was a leisure centre in Newport, South Wales. The Newport Centre was located in Newport city centre on the west bank of the River Usk adjacent to the Kingsway Shopping Centre. It held events such as concerts, international business conferences and art exhibitions. The centre hosted the Welsh Open snooker tournament from 1992 until 1998, and also from 2005 until 2014. The centre also had suites overlooking the leisure pool and elsewhere; The Riverside Suite, Castle Room, Kingsway Suite, Usk Room, Treetops Suite, and the Emlyn Rooms.

Friars Walk is a partially under-cover shopping centre and leisure complex in Newport city centre, South Wales. It has several levels and includes a range of high street shops, eateries, a cinema, a bowling alley and a soft play area.
