Century Downs Racetrack and Casino is a casino and horse racing track near Calgary. It is one of two "A-level" horse racing venues in the province of Alberta and brought live horse racing back to the Calgary area for the first time since June 15, 2008. Century Downs offers live Standardbred races on weekends and holidays throughout the months of April to November. The casino features 550 slot machines, seven VLTs, and an off-track betting area which simulcasts both Standardbred and Thoroughbred races from around the world. Dining facilities include a lounge and the Mid City Grill restaurant. Century Downs first opened on April 1, 2015. Its first day of Standardbred racing was on April 25, 2015.On September 6, 2023, it was one of the assets of Century Casinos acquired by Vici Properties, in a deal valued at C$222 million.

New Horizon Mall is a modern shopping mall in the Calgary Metropolitan Region located inside Balzac, a locality of Rocky View County, Alberta. The mall features a retail floor space of approximately 30,000 m2 (320,000 square feet), and features a flea market gimmick where stores inside the mall are smaller; causing the mid-sized mall to have the second most stores inside a mall in Canada at over 500 store locations. The mall opened its doors on May 1, 2018, As of February 2021, over 100 had opened for business. The grand opening was scheduled for October 27, 2018, however on September 21, 2018, the opening was pushed to 2019. It was modeled after the Pacific Mall in Markham, Ontario.

Balzac is a hamlet in Rocky View County, which is in the Calgary Metropolitan Region of the Canadian province of Alberta. It is located immediately west of Queen Elizabeth II Highway, at the intersection with Highway 566, 24 km (15 mi) north of Calgary city centre and 12 km (7.5 mi) south of Airdrie. The hamlet is located in census division No. 6 and in the Alberta federal electoral district of Banff—Airdrie (formerly in the federal electoral district of Wild Rose). As of July 31, 2007, Balzac is immediately adjacent to Calgary's northern city limits. Balzac is also directly west of the CrossIron Mills shopping mall.

Calgary-North East (previously styled Calgary North East) is a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta. The riding has existed twice, having been contested in the 1959 and abolished soon after, becoming Calgary East. It was re-established in time for the 2019 general election in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.

The day-to-day duties were formally transferred as of March 28, 2018.

The school was founded in 1987 by Brian Hazeltine and was one of the largest schools in the Calgary area. In 2019 it renamed as Airdrie Christian Academy. It is bounded by Métis Trail to the west, Country Hills Boulevard to the north, the future 60 Street NE extension to the east, and the future Airport Trail NE (96 Avenue NE) extension to the south. Country Hills Boulevard becomes Highway 564 as it exits Calgary to the east. Cityscape is located within Calgary City Council's Ward 3.

Coventry Hills is a suburban residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is at the northern edge of the city and is bounded by Stoney Trail to the north, Deerfoot Trail and the Nose Creek to the east, Country Hills Boulevard to the south, and Harvest Hills Boulevard to the west. Coventry Hills was established as a neighbourhood in 1991. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 3 councillor.
