St. Thomas the Apostle Church is a historic site at 5472 S. Kimbark Avenue in Hyde Park, Chicago, Illinois, at 55th Street. A Roman Catholic church of the Archdiocese of Chicago, it was built in 1922 and opened in 1925 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It was designed by Barry Byrne, who was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright and incorporated elements from Wright's Prairie School of design and from the modernist movement. Byrne had previously built the convent at St. Thomas Apostle in 1919. It was built during a period of liturgical renewal that was just reaching the U.S. It is often cited as anticipating the liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council by some 40 years due to its projecting altar and lack of interior columns.

The Keck-Gottschalk-Keck Apartments comprise a 1931 International Style three-flat in Chicago, Illinois. They were designed by George and William Keck and served as residences for the architects and for University of Chicago professor Louis Gottschalk. The apartments received Chicago Landmark status on August 3, 1994.

The 57th Street Meeting of Friends is a Chicago meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers). It has convened since at least 1916. It originated at the close of the Civil War with 40 members who "commenced regular meetings on first days at 11 o'clock" and "met in the Y.M.C.A. rooms in the First Methodist Church". In 1993, Michael Szenberg commended the meeting as "very congenial".

The Robert A. Millikan House is a historic house at 5605 South Woodlawn Avenue in the Hyde Park community area of Chicago, Illinois, Built about 1907, it was from about 1908 until 1921 the home of American physicist Robert A. Millikan (1868-1953), the period in which he made his most significant Nobel Prize winning work. The three-story brick building earned National Historic Landmark status on May 11, 1976.

WHPK (88.5 FM) is an American radio station based in Hyde Park on the South Side of Chicago, established in 1968. The station is owned by the University of Chicago, and operated by volunteer students and community members. WHPK's station manager and program director are elected by the station's student members and must be students themselves. The station's broadcast engineer is paid by the university.

The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) is a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in Chicago, Illinois. LSTC is a member of the Association of Chicago Theological Schools (ACTS), a consortium of eleven area seminaries and theological schools. It shares the JKM Library and portions of its campus with McCormick Theological Seminary. LSTC is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. LSTC was formed in 1962 by the merger of the seminaries of the four church bodies that had merged to create the Lutheran Church in America (LCA). A fifth and sixth seminary joined the school in 1967 and 1987, respectively. LSTC moved to its Hyde Park campus in 1967. In June 2023, the campus relocated to 5416 S. Cornell Avenue on the 4th floor.

McCormick Theological Seminary is a private Presbyterian seminary in Chicago, Illinois. It shares a campus with the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, bordering the campus of the University of Chicago. A letter of intent was signed on May 5, 2022, to sell the shared campus to the University of Chicago. The agreement allows the two seminaries to lease back facilities on the campus. Although it primarily serves the Presbytery of Chicago and the Synod of Lincoln Trails, McCormick Theological Seminary also educates members of other Christian denominations.

The Arthur H. Compton House is a historic house at 5637 South Woodlawn Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1905 and designed by architects Holabird & Roche, it was the residence of physicist Arthur Compton (1892–1962) from 1928 until 1945. Compton discovered the Compton Effect in 1923, proving that light has both a particle and a wave aspect. Compton received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1927 for this discovery. His house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976.

The First Unitarian Church of Chicago is a Unitarian Universalist ("UU") church in Chicago, Illinois. Unitarians do not have a common creed and include people with a wide variety of personal beliefs, and include atheists, agnostics, deists, monotheists, pantheists, polytheists, pagans, as well as other belief systems.One of the oldest churches in Chicago, First Unitarian Chicago was founded July 29, 1836 and is currently located at 5650 S. Woodlawn Avenue. Its founding was in part the result of a small group of Chicago Unitarians with the minister Charles Follen. Its first building was constructed in 1841 on what is now the site of the Picasso statue in Daley Plaza. The building, twice enlarged before it burned down, held the first church bell in Chicago placed there in January 1845.In June 1862 the building was lost to fire, the congregation temporarily worshiped in St. Paul's Universalist Church until the new church building was completed and the first service was help November 22, 1863.In 1873 a new church building was constructed at the corner of 23rd and Michigan. And in 1897 a mission chapel to the University of Chicago was built at 57th and Woodlawn in Hyde Park, Chicago. In 1909, the 23rd ave building was sold and the congregation moved to the university chapel. A new edifice was built in 1925 in an English perpendicular Gothic style, a gift of church member and Illinois US Representative Morton D. Hull whose ashes now rest in the crypt below the building. A crypt for cinerary urns (a Columbarium) below the nave was the first crypt for ashes in the city. It was designed intentionally to serve the neighborhood and city, not just members of the church. The 1931 building had a belltower featuring multiple floors, on top of which was added a steeple. The steeple was repaired in the 1990s, and removed in 2002 due to failing structure. This was not the first time the tower of a church building had incurred a cost to the society. After the Church of the Messiah was built in 1864, the tower on that building settled. As a result, it had to be taken down and entirely rebuilt along with the front of the church at a cost of $15,000.In 1956, the Chicago Children's Choir was founded in the church by assistant minister Christopher Moore.

Disciples Divinity House of the University of Chicago is a Christian seminary associated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the University of Chicago Divinity School.

The Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society is a collaborative research center located on the campus of the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.

The Institute of Politics (IOP) is an extracurricular nonpartisan political institute associated with the College of the University of Chicago and the Harris School of Public Policy designed to inspire students to pursue careers in politics and public service. Following the University of Chicago's longstanding tradition of wide-ranging political debate and freedom of expression, the IOP seeks to convene a diverse array of speakers, students, and leaders from a variety of backgrounds for the edification of its student body.
