The Hôtel de Ville is the town hall of Liège in Belgium, located on place du Marché. It was built in 1714. It is also known as La Violette.

St. Lambert's Cathedral, Liège (or in full, the Cathedral of Our Lady and St. Lambert; French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Lambert) was the cathedral of Liège, Belgium, until 1794, when its destruction began. This enormous Gothic cathedral, dedicated to Saint Lambert of Maastricht, occupied the site of the present Place Saint-Lambert in the centre of Liège.

Remains of the foundations of the cathedral have been conserved, and are on display at the Archéoforum, under the square.The largest public building on the square is the former Prince-Bishops' Palace, which now houses the Palace of Justice of Liège and the Provincial Palace, i.e. the government building of Liège Province. There is a large bus station in the lower part of the square, which serves as the local transport hub for the city. On 13 December 2011, a murder–suicide attack took place in the square, in which 6 people were killed and 125 were injured.

It was the residence of former Prince-Bishops of Liège and once faced the monumental Cathedral of St. Lambert. It now houses the Palace of Justice of Liège and the Provincial Palace, i.e. the government building of Liège Province.

The Archéoforum is an archaeological museum on place Saint-Lambert in Liège in Belgium. It is centered on the ruins of Saint Lambert's Cathedral and also includes the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa as well as displaying objects from the Mesolithic onward.

On 6 December 1985, a bomb exploded in Palais de Justice, the main courthouse of the city of Liège in Belgium. The explosion took place shortly before hundreds of lawyers including Belgian Justice Minister Jean Gol would attend a swearing-in ceremony. The bomb severely damaged three floors and collapsed the ceiling of the 16th century palace. Philippe Balis, a 20-year-old law student, was killed in the blast.The attack took place just hours after Communist Combatant Cells terrorists bombed a NATO pipeline in Oudenaarde, a place in Flanders, and in France. However the courthouse and pipeline attacks were not linked.

The Church of St. Denis (French: Collégiale Saint-Denis) is a parish church in Liège, Belgium. The fortified building was designed to be part of the city's defences. It was founded by Notker of Liège in 987 and first consecrated on 12 March 990. The tower was added around 1100.

Montagne de Bueren (French pronunciation: ​[mɔ̃taɲ də byʁɛn, -ʁən]) is a 374-step staircase in Liège, Belgium. The staircase is named after Vincent de Bueren, who defended Liège against an attack by the Duke of Burgundy, Charles the Bold in the 15th century. It was built in 1881 to honour the 600 soldiers who died in the battle.In 2013, Montagne de Bueren was ranked as #1 on The Huffington Post's list of Most Extreme Staircases.In July 2020, in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Belgium, Belgian explorer and adventurer Louis-Philippe Loncke ascended and descended the staircase 135 times carrying a 15 kg backpack, simulating an ascent of Mount Everest. The 9000m climb, which took 65 hours 30 minutes, was meant to show that one could still "trouver des défis physiques près de chez soi" (find physical challenges close to home).

The Société littéraire de Liège was a literary society in Liège. It was set up on 5 April 1779 by François-Charles de Velbrück during his reign as prince bishop of Liege. It aimed to provide its members with newspapers and books in a convivial atmosphere, on the model of other literary societies of the time, like the Cabinet littéraire de Verviers, the Société littéraire de Huy, the Société royale littéraire de Hasselt, the Cercle de l’Union de Maastricht, the "Aachener Casino Club" in Aachen, the Société littéraire de Gand, the Société de littérature de Bruxelles (whose successor, the Société des Douze, is still active), and the famous Gabinetto Vieusseux. It is still active and provides cultural activities and meeting for its members. It has reciprocal ties with the Cercle Gaulois in Brussels and publishes a quarterly newsletter entitled Lettre de la Littéraire.
