Kálvin tér Reformed Church

Kálvin tér is a transfer station on the M3 and the M4 lines of the Budapest Metro. It is located beneath the eponymous square, named after John Calvin. The Line 3 station was opened on 31 December 1976 as part of the inaugural section of Line M3 between Deák Ferenc tér and Nagyvárad tér. The Line M4 station was opened on 28 March 2014 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Keleti pályaudvar to Kelenföld vasútállomás.

Kálvin tér (English: Calvin Square) is a major square and intersection in the city center of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. It was named after the French Protestant Reformer John Calvin (Kálvin János in Hungarian) due to the large Reformed Church located there. The square is located in Pest at the junction of the 5th (Belváros-Lipótváros), 8th (Józsefváros) and 9th (Ferencváros) districts. Roads which converge at the square include the 'Kiskörút' (Inner Circuit, encompassing Múzeum körút ('Museum boulevard') north of the square, and Vámház körút to the south), Üllői út ('Üllő road'), Baross utca ('Baross street'), and Kecskeméti utca ('Kecskemét street'). Being a major thoroughfare and locality, the square is a major transport hub with tram, bus, and trolleybus routes serving the square. The Kálvin tér station on the M3 (North-South) line, and M4 of the Budapest Metro is located here. The Hungarian National Museum is near Kálvin tér.

Veres Pálné Secondary Grammar School (Hungarian: Veres Pálné Gimnázium, VPG) is a prestigious Hungarian public grammar school based in Budapest. The school was founded by Pálné Veres in 1869 and it became the first institution in Hungary to admit women. Throughout the years the school has been considered one of the strongest secondary schools in Hungary. Its library boasts more than 30,000 books, many of which have significant historical importance.

The Great Market Hall or Central Market Hall, Market Hall I (Hungarian "Nagyvásárcsarnok") is the largest and oldest indoor market in Budapest, Hungary. The idea of building such a large market hall arose from the first mayor of Budapest, Károly Kamermayer, and it was his largest investment. He retired in 1896 and participated in the opening ceremony on February 15, 1897. It is located at the end of the famous pedestrian shopping street Váci utca and on the Pest side of the Liberty bridge at Fővám square.

The Hungarian National Museum (Hungarian: Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum) was founded in 1802 and is the national museum for the history, art, and archaeology of Hungary, including areas not within Hungary's modern borders, such as Transylvania; it is not to be confused with the collection of international art in the Hungarian National Gallery. The museum is in Budapest VIII in a Neoclassical building, purpose-built during 1837–47 by the architect Mihály Pollack.

The New Eve (Hungarian: Az új Éva) is a painting by Hungarian artist Sándor Bortnyik from 1924.

Twofold movement (in Hungarian: Kétféle mozgás) is a work of art by Hungarian artist Ilona Keserü Ilona from 1980 to 1992.

The Balloon (in Hungarian: Léghajó) is a work of art by Hungarian artist Pál Szinyei Merse from 1878.

Kiskörút or Small Boulevard (lit. "Small Ring Road") is a major thoroughfare in Budapest. It forms an incomplete semicircle between Deák Square and Fővám Square. It is the border of the southern part of District 5 (cf. Belváros), the innermost district of Pest. As opposed to Nagykörút, it only touches the Danube at its southern end.

Eötvös Loránd University (Hungarian: Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem, ELTE) is a Hungarian public research university based in Budapest. Founded in 1635, ELTE is one of the largest and most prestigious public higher education institutions in Hungary. The 28,000 students at ELTE are organized into nine faculties, and into research institutes located throughout Budapest and on the scenic banks of the Danube. ELTE is affiliated with 5 Nobel laureates, as well as winners of the Wolf Prize, Fulkerson Prize and Abel Prize, the latest of which was Abel Prize winner László Lovász in 2021. The predecessor of Eötvös Loránd University was founded in 1635 by Cardinal Péter Pázmány in Nagyszombat, Kingdom of Hungary (today Trnava, Slovakia) as a Catholic university for teaching theology and philosophy. In 1770, the university was transferred to Buda. It was named Royal University of Pest until 1873, then University of Budapest until 1921, when it was renamed Royal Hungarian Pázmány Péter University after its founder Péter Pázmány. The Faculty of Science started its autonomous life in 1949 when The Faculty of Theology was separated from the university (now Pázmány Péter Catholic University). The university received its current name in 1950, after one of its most well-known physicists, Baron Loránd Eötvös.

Fővárosi Szabó Ervin Könyvtár (literally Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library) is the largest library network in Budapest, Hungary. The Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library's main branch is housed in the 19th-century neo-baroque Wenckheim Palace. The municipal library needed more space as its collection grew, so it expanded to a network of additional buildings while restoring the palace as a national monument. The library is now 13,000 m² and houses Budapest's largest public collection of books with a capacity for 1,100,000 volumes. In 2003, the International Real Estate Federation awarded the Prix d’Excellence to its central building.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin (Hungarian: Kisboldogasszony-templom), commonly known as the University Church (Hungarian: egyetemi templom) is a Catholic Church in the Papnövelde Street, Belváros-Lipótváros District (Inner City District) in Budapest, Hungary. From 1786 the church belongs to the former Theological Faculty of the Eötvös Loránd University, and to the Pázmány Péter Catholic University independent of it; before it was the central church of the Pauline Order. The Central Priestly Educational Institute operates in a block adjacent to the church, so that the liturgical services of the church are performed by the priestly students and the chiefs of the institute. The church has two towers and its towers are 56 meters high.
