The Norwich Playhouse is a theatre in St George's Street, Norwich, Norfolk, England. It opened in 1995 in a nineteenth-century building that was once a maltings, and is a venue for theatre, comedy, music, cabaret and other performing arts. It seats 300. Television personality and theatre actor Stephen Fry is a patron. In March 2018 the Playhouse won a Chortle Award, naming it the Best Comedy Venue in the East & Midlands. Norwich Playhouse is a firm favourite with many comedians, including Mark Watson, Tim Minchin, and Sara Pascoe. The Playhouse Bar is a popular bar attached to the theatre, known for Ceilingopolils (a cardboard cityscape attached to the ceiling of the bar). It recently celebrated its twentieth birthday.

St. Andrew's Hall and Blackfriars' Hall are a Grade I listed set of friary church and convent buildings in the English city of Norwich, Norfolk, dating back to the 14th century. They make up the most complete friary complex surviving in England. The complex is made up of several flint buildings. The centrepiece is St Andrew's Hall. The halls are now used for conferences, weddings, concerts, beer festivals and meetings. The maximum capacity is 1,200 people. It is one of the Norwich 12 heritage sites.

Friars Quay is a residential development and an example of a high density, urban design of the 1970s. The development is located in the Colegate area at the centre of Norwich, Norfolk, bounded on one side by the River Wensum and by a park and two notable bridges to the east and west. Several historic churches surround the site creating an attractive and varied landscape. The population is included in the Mancroft ward of Norwich City. The original design consists of an arrangement of terraces that include a series of open spaces winding through the scheme culminating in a principal space facing water stairs and a ramp to the Wensum. Elevations are economical in conception with a richness in variety and spacing. There is simple paving and the use of rolled gravel in the surfaces to the highways and communal areas. The development was the subject of an article in the Architectural Review in 1975.In recognition of the quality of the design Norwich City Council proposed in early 2004 to apply for Article 4 (2) Direction in order to reinforce the covenants that exist on the development. In April 2007 the City Council indicated that it would not proceed with Article 4 Direction but would instead place the development on its list of buildings of architectural importance. Friars Quay forms part of the City Centre Conservation area. In the 1970s Norwich City Council was seeking ways to encourage people to live in the centre of historic Norwich. Friars Quay was built on the former Jewsons Timber Yard. City of Norwich formed a partnership with local developer RG Carter Ltd., to redevelop this prominent city centre industrial site. The scheme consists of 40 four and five bedroom townhouses and 9 ground floor flats. On 3 May 1972 planning permission was given for "the development of a builders' merchants premises by the construction of roads, footpaths and 24 parking spaces and the erection of forty houses (22 with integral garages) at Colegate". Included in the reasons for granting planning permission was "to protect and improve the amenity of the area, and ensure the maximum public use of the riverside". The architect responsible for the design was David Luckhurst of Feilden & Mawson. Friars Quay has a very active Residents Association which has been involved in discussions regarding conservation.

The Port of Norwich is a small port on the River Wensum at Norwich, Norfolk. The use of the river as a port stretches back at least to medieval times, however its current standing as a port dates to an Act of Parliament on 28 May 1827.The name Norwich comes from the Middle Saxon north wic meaning "north port" and there is evidence of urban settlement on the north bank from the tenth century. Norwich was likely founded as a port when the former Roman port of Venta Icenorum three miles to the south silted up.The port was still in regular use in the 1960s and 1970s and continued to have some limited traffic in the 2010s. The port authority is Norwich City Council, who in 2012 stated that they consider the port defunct as a commercial port.

Cinema City is a Grade I listed cultural cinema in the city of Norwich in Norfolk, England. The building is owned by Norwich City Council and the site is managed by the charity Cinema City Ltd (changed name from Norfolk and Norwich Film Theatre Ltd in August 2014), charity number 288309. Commercial activities - film screenings, bar and restaurant - are carried out by Picturehouse Cinemas Limited which operates a national chain of 'art house' cinemas, called Picturehouse. Picturehouse is part of the Cineworld chain. Cinema City Ltd (the charity) undertakes education activities on site and throughout Norfolk through its education arm Cinema Plus.

The Duke's Palace was the palatial seat of the Duke of Norfolk in Norwich, England. It was located close to Norwich's Charing Cross in the parish of St John Maddermarket. Built from 1561 to 1567 and enlarged in the 1660s under Henry Howard, 6th Duke of Norfolk, it housed a royal visit from King Charles II of England in 1671, and was rebuilt in a modern style in 1672, also under Howard. The palace was known to quickly deteriorate and was prone to subsidence due to its location very close to the River Wensum, on boggy ground. Despite praise for the house itself, its location in a more industrialised area of the city was deemed unpleasant by its contemporaries. It was abandoned by 1711 and then largely demolished between then and 1714, its remainder becoming a workhouse before it was fully demolished in the 19th century. A multi-storey car park now exists in its place.

The Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell (formerly The Bridewell and the Bridewell Museum) is a museum of the social history of the city of Norwich in England. Constructed in the 14th century, it was one of the grandest medieval residences in the city. Located next to St Andrew's Church, it is a Grade I listed building. Over its history, it has operated as a residence, a house of correction, and a factory.

The Briton's Arms is a Grade II* listed restaurant at 9 Elm Hill, Norwich in England. Located directly next to the churchyard of St Peter Hungate, it may have been a beguinage. It was constructed from the early 15th century, featuring a timber frame and thatched roof. It is reputed to be the only building on Elm Hill to survive a fire in 1507. It is Norwich's only former dwelling house below the level of its urban elite that can be dated to before the 1507 fires, and may be the only surviving example in England of a purpose-built beguinage. It became a public house in the 19th century, then a café and restaurant. It was used for the 2007 film Stardust.
