The KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Swedish: Kungliga Tekniska högskolan), abbreviated KTH, is a public research university in Stockholm, Sweden. KTH conducts research and education in engineering and technology and is Sweden's largest technical university. Currently, KTH consists of five schools with four campuses in and around Stockholm. KTH was established in 1827 as the Teknologiska institutet (Institute of Technology) and had its roots in the Mekaniska skolan (School of Mechanics) that was established in 1798 in Stockholm. But the origin of KTH dates back to the predecessor of the Mekaniska skolan, the Laboratorium mechanicum, which was established in 1697 by the Swedish scientist and innovator Christopher Polhem. The Laboratorium mechanicum combined education technology, a laboratory, and an exhibition space for innovations. In 1877 KTH received its current name, Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (KTH Royal Institute of Technology). The Swedish king, Carl XVI Gustaf, is the patron of KTH. KTH is ranked 89 in the world among all universities in the 2022 QS World University Rankings.

Sophiahemmet is a private hospital at Norra Djurgården in Stockholm, Sweden. It is associated with the Sophiahemmet University College. Its connection with the royal family goes back to 1884 when nursing education sponsored by Queen Sophia was still being conducted at the university. The private hospital was constructed in 1889 at its current location on Valhallavägen. On 1 January 2016, Princess Sofia, Duchess of Värmland was announced as the honorary president of the hospital, replacing Princess Christina, Mrs. Magnuson, who had served as honorary president since 1972.

Stockholm East Station (Swedish: Stockholms östra station) or Stockholm Ö is a railway station on the Roslag Railway in Stockholm, Sweden. The present station was inaugurated in 1932 and located on Valhallavägen in northeastern central Stockholm, close to the Royal Institute of Technology (Tekniska Högskolan), replacing an older provisional station from 1884 which was located some hundred metres to the north. Originally, the building had the offices of SRJ, the company owning and managing the Roslag Railway. There are still offices in the building for the company which is operating the traffic at present. The building also includes a restaurant, which has the same interior as when the building was new, something which is appreciated by the customers. The restaurant is well known as a place where supporters of sports club Djurgårdens IF like to go, as it is relatively close to the Stockholm Olympic Stadium, the classic former home field of Djurgårdens IF football team.It is located in conjunction with the Stockholm metro station Tekniska högskolan. It is now the southern end station of the Roslag Railway. Earlier, some trains continued on a tram line to Engelbrektsplan next to Humlegården. The station makes up the background in the 2011 Swedish movie Stockholm Östra, starring Mikael Persbrandt and Iben Hjejle.

Sophiahemmet University (Swedish: Sophiahemmet Högskola) is a Swedish institution for higher education associated with Sophiahemmet. In addition to a degree in nursing, the institution also offers programmes at advanced level, such as Specialist Nursing programmes, as well as Bachelor, Master and Diploma programmes. Sophiahemmet Högskola has approximately 450 students enrolled in the three-year nursing programme and a total of approximately 1500 students on a yearly basis. Education is only offered in Swedish. Sophiahemmet University College was founded in 1884 by Queen Sophia.

Tekniska högskolan is a station on the red line of the Stockholm metro, located in the districts Östermalm and Norra Djurgården, near the Royal Institute of Technology (Kungliga Tekniska högskolan). The station was opened on 30 September 1973 as the northern terminus of the extension from Östermalmstorg. On 12 January 1975, the line was extended further north to Universitetet. Tekniska högskolan metro station is connected to Stockholm East Station or Stockholms östra, a station on the Roslagsbanan railway, and a terminal for buses towards Norrtälje and Vaxholm. The art in the station was done by Lennart Mörk and features a common theme of technology, the four elements, and the laws of nature. Quotes from the history of science are interspersed with paintworks and sculptures such as Newton's apple, the wings of Icarus, and the five Platonic solids representing the classical elements – a dodecahedron, symbolising the aether and containing the "black hole of the universe", is suspended from the central ceiling. As one of the first "cave stations" where the walls follow the contours of the underlying bedrock, Tekniska högskolan (along with nearby Stadion) metro station was awarded the 1973 Kasper Salin Prize.

On 14 November 2025, a bus crashed in Stockholm, Sweden. The bus swerved across onto the sidewalk and rammed a bus stop at the Tekniska Högskolan station. Three people were killed and three others were injured in the accident.

The University College of Opera (Swedish: Operahögskolan i Stockholm) was until 2014 a Swedish institution in Stockholm offering higher education in the field of opera music and related arts. Since 1 January 2014, it has been fully integrated as part of the Stockholm University of the Arts, and the previous name is no longer in use. It was tasked with educating singers, répétiteurs, and opera directors and had an enrollment of approximately 40 students, including 36 singers.

Rådmansgatan is a street in the districts of Östermalm and Vasastaden in the inner city of Stockholm, Sweden. The Rådmansgatan metro station is located at the intersection of Rådmansgatan with Sveavägen.

Engelbrektsskolan is a school with grades F - 9 (see the Swedish school system) in the central parts of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden (located on Valhallavägen 76). It has about 1,000 students and offers programs for talented individuals in both mathematics and football.

Swedish Red Cross University (Swedish: Röda Korsets Högskola) is a Swedish university operated with the Swedish Red Cross Home Foundation as its accountable authority. It is not to be confused with The Swedish Red Cross. In addition to a degree in nursing, the institution also offers university courses related to the subject of nursing. The Swedish Red Cross School of Nursing was established in 1867 with Emmy Reppy as its first director. The Red Cross Home Foundation (Stiftelsen Rödakorshemmet) was formed in 1915 to provide training for nurses under the auspices of the Red Cross in Sweden, and follows the principles and values of the Red Cross. The Swedish Red Cross University (former Red Cross School of Nursing) is situated at Campus Flemingsberg in Stockholm since 2016.

The Swedish Defence University (Swedish: Försvarshögskolan, FHS) is situated on Drottning Kristinas väg 37 in Östermalm, Stockholm City Centre, next to the campus of the Royal Institute of Technology.
