Portage is a city in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 48,891 at the 2020 census. It is the smaller of the two main cities included in the Kalamazoo-Portage Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 261,670 in 2020.

Portage Northern High School is a high school in Portage, Michigan. Northern High School serves 1,235 students from ninth through twelfth grades. In addition to meeting the regular education needs of students living in the PNHS attendance area, the school also houses several special education programs that address the needs of students throughout the Portage district. In addition, Northern is one of nine Michigan high schools currently authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, a rigorous curriculum for grades 11 and 12 that focuses on globalism and interdisciplinary study.

Loy Norrix High School is a high school located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serving students from grades nine through twelve. It is one of two high schools in the Kalamazoo Public Schools district. The student body totals at approximately 1,550. The school is named for a former superintendent of Kalamazoo Public Schools and opened in 1961. Loy Norrix students are eligible for the Kalamazoo Promise, which provides reduced or free college tuition for students attending public and private colleges in Michigan.

The Air Zoo, founded as the Kalamazoo Aviation History Museum, is an aviation museum and indoor amusement park next to the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport in Portage, Michigan. The Air Zoo holds many historical and rare aircraft, including the world's fastest air-breathing aircraft, the SR-71B Blackbird. Many of its antique planes are airworthy. Among its other attractions are a 180-degree theater that projects a 2-D film simulation of a B-17 bombing mission during World War II; and various amusement rides, including flight simulators of a rocket trip to Mars, a U.S. Navy (former Blue Angel) F/A-18 Hornet, a stunt biplane, a hot air balloon, a veteran U.S. Navy F-14A Tomcat that served aboard USS America, and more. Air Zoo is a Smithsonian Affiliate.

The Andrew J. Stevens House is a single-family home located at 4024 Oakland Drive in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is one of the few examples of an L-plan, Greek Revival farmhouse that still exists in Kalamazoo.

WTOU (1560 AM) was the call sign assigned from 2019 until 2020, and the last call sign used on the air, by a radio station licensed to Portage, Michigan. It last broadcast an urban adult contemporary format, provided by ABC Radio Networks (The Touch, or "Today's R&B and Old School"). Owned by Midwest Communications, the station served the greater Kalamazoo, Michigan area. The station was assigned the call letters WQLR by the Federal Communications Commission on December 18, 2020, but its license was deleted without any broadcasts being made under the WQLR call letters. WTOU was also heard in Portage/Kalamazoo on FM translator 95.5 W238AL. Because the station was only licensed for daytime operation, the translator allowed "The Touch" programming to continue after WTOU signed off for the night. This translator was formerly used to relay country sister station WNWN-FM based in Battle Creek, but when another sister station, 96.5 WFAT, was switched to country music as WYZO, W238AL changed its programming source from WNWN-FM to the then-WNWN. W238AL was the third FM translator in Michigan to relay an AM station, after stations in Big Rapids and Charlevoix/Petoskey.

Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (IATA: AZO, ICAO: KAZO, FAA LID: AZO) is a county-owned public airport in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, US, 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of Downtown Kalamazoo. The airport is located approximately 20 miles (32 km) west of the city of Battle Creek. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2023-27, in which it is categorized as a non-hub primary commercial service facility.The airport has an Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and a Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON). It has one passenger terminal and five gates. Three airlines operate flights in and out of AZO.
