Maryland International Raceway

Potomac Speedway is a 3/8 mile clay oval raceway located in Budds Creek, Maryland, near Charlotte Hall. The raceway was first raced on in 1973. Races are typically held on Friday or Saturday nights. Regular events include Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hobby Stocks and 4 cylinders. The speedway also holds events for Modifieds, Crate Late Models, Strictly Stocks and Hornets. Potomac Speedway has a seating capacity of about 4,000 in the main grandstands and can hold an additional 1,000 in the pit area. The speedway typically draws top drivers from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia. Greg Gunter is the current promoter of the track.

Sarum is a historic home located at Newport, Charles County, Maryland, US. The oldest extant part of the house was built in 1717 by Joseph Pile on or near the site of his grandfather's 17th century house. It was a box-framed hall and parlor dwelling, 32 by 18 feet. A shed was added in 1736; later in the 1800s the ends were extended and new walls of brick were constructed giving the house its present dimensions. Sarum was patented to John Pile in 1662, and remained in the ownership of the Pile family until 1836. It is one of Maryland's finest small Colonial dwellings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Carpenter Point is a point of land on the Wicomico River in Charles County, Maryland. It is located on the northern shore of Cobb Neck on the tidal part of the Wicomico River, which was called the West Wicomico River in early colonial records to differentiate it from the Wicomico River on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The land was originally part of or very near the western border of Captain James Neale's "Wollaston Manor" estate. Cooksey's Point is the next point to the west, and McReynolds Point the next point to the east.

Newport is an unincorporated community in Charles County, Maryland, United States. Sarum was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church is a historic Roman Catholic church listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Mount Victoria is an unincorporated community in southern Charles County, Maryland, United States, between the Wicomico and Potomac Rivers. It was named for an enormous farm of 15,000 acres (61 km2) owned by Robert Crain, an attorney and farmer whose lobbying efforts led to the opening in 1927 of the Maryland portion of U.S. Highway 301. This farm was said at the time to be the largest private landholding in Maryland.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at Chaptico, St. Mary's County, Maryland, United States. It was constructed in 1736 of Flemish bond brick construction with glazed headers, 60 feet long and 40 feet wide, with an original semicircular brick apse. In 1913, a three-story brick tower with octagonal belfry and spire was added to the west end of the church. The building was constructed under the supervision of Philip Key, vestryman, who was the great-grandfather of Francis Scott Key. The building was heavily damaged on July 30, 1814, during the War of 1812, when an admiral of the British fleet came ashore and took possession of the village of Chaptico. Surrounding the church is a cemetery with 18th, 19th, and 20th century markers, including a vault for the Key family. Christ Church Parish was one of the original 30 Anglican parishes in the Province of Maryland. Christ Episcopal Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Chaptico is an unincorporated community in St. Mary's County, Maryland, United States. It lies on Chaptico Run, which forms a bay as it enters the Wicomico River.

St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newport is a historic parish located in Newport, Charles County, Maryland, established in 1674. Several churches have been built on the property over its history. At present there are two churches remaining, one built in 1840, deconsecrated in 1906 and no longer used for religious services, and the current church building, built in 1954. The historic 1840 church is a rectangular brick structure, four bays in length and three bays wide. It is of simple architectural styling typical of the Greek Revival period in this locality. Located on the property is the parish cemetery, which includes the burial plot of the Brent-Merrick family, including congressman William Duhurst Merrick (1793–1857). It has several impressively scaled and ornamented monuments enclosed within a decorative mid-19th century wrought iron fence. Other memorial stones bear the signature of "A. Geddess," who founded the long-active Geddess monument firm of Baltimore in 1822.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Bachelor's Hope is a historic home located at Chaptico, St. Mary's County, Maryland, listed as probably built between 1753 and 1790. It is known for the two-story brick central block with a jerkinhead roof, which contains one large ground-floor room. On either side are one-story, two-room brick wings. No other known 18th century structure in the state exists with a similar combination of the "Great Hall" plan, facade, and component features. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Tompkinsville is a populated place in Charles County, Maryland. It was the site of a post office. William J. Frere lived there.
