The Leicestershire and Rutland County Football Association, also simply known as the Leicestershire & Rutland CFA, Leicestershire FA or LRCFA, is the governing body of football in the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland.

Blaby & Whetstone Athletic Football Club is a football club based in Whetstone, near Leicester, Leicestershire, England. They play at Warwick Road.

Whetstone is a village and civil parish in the Blaby district of Leicestershire, England and largely acts as a commuter village for Leicester, five miles to the north. The population at the 2011 census was 6,556. It is part of the Leicester Urban Area. The village is bounded on the east by the A426 (on the other side of which is Blaby village), to the north by the railway line from Birmingham to Leicester, and to the west by the M1. It is well connected to Leicester City centre, with a very frequent direct bus service. From 1899 to 1963 the village was served by Whetstone railway station.

Saffron Dynamo Football Club is a football club based in Cosby, Leicestershire, England. They are currently members of the United Counties League Division One and play at Cambridge Road.

Whetstone was a station on the Great Central Railway (GCR), the last main line to be constructed from the north of England to London, which opened in 1899 to serve the Leicestershire village of Whetstone. Whetstone station was built by the Great Central as part of its London Extension, and opened to passengers on 15 March 1899. It was a conventional London extension station, common in towns on villages on the GCR, and was equipped with a single island platform. Access was from beneath the railway bridge, which once spanned Station Street near the centre of the village. The platform was on the south side of the bridge on an embankment that was particularly wide to accommodate the goods yard. All the station's buildings were situated on the single platform and comprised a porter's room, a booking office, general and ladies waiting rooms, plus a gentlemen's toilet block.The station was one of the earlier closures on the line closing to passengers in 1963; it, like nearby Ashby Magna, served a relatively sparsely populated area and had always struggled to attract sufficient revenue.Since closure, the railway embankment has been removed, along with all station buildings and platforms; only the stationmaster's house remains today. A new housing development has been constructed on the old trackbed formation.

Blaby () is a large village in the Blaby District in central Leicestershire, England, some five miles south of Leicester city centre. At the time of the 2011 census, Blaby had a population of 6,194, a slight fall from 6,240 in 2001 figures). Blaby's proximity to the city causes it to form part of the Leicester Urban Area. Its name probably came Old Norse Blábýr = "farmstead or village belonging to a man named Blár" (where the -r is a case ending). There seems to have been a dense patch of Viking settlement in Leicestershire, although some records in the Blaby Library indicate the origin of the village's name was from the first vicar. Blaby is twinned with the village of Villers-sous-Saint-Leu in France.

Leysland High School was a coeducational middle school with academy status, located in Countesthorpe, Leicestershire, England. It was open for students aged 11–14 (students in KS3). It received the rating of 'Outstanding' from Ofsted in April, 2013. It merged with Countesthorpe Community College to form Countesthorpe Leysland Community College in July 2016.

Countesthorpe Academy (formerly Countesthorpe Leysland Community College) is a coeducational secondary school situated on the western edge of Countesthorpe in Leicestershire, England near the A426.

Cosby is a village in the English county of Leicestershire. Cosby is located in the south of the county near the larger villages and towns of Whetstone, Blaby , Wigston and Oadby. Its proximity to the city of Leicester means it is part of the Leicester Urban Area. The village is administered by Blaby District Council. Cosby has a brook which runs through the village and eventually serves as a tributary to the River Soar, then runs into the river Humber and then into the North Sea. Even though The Wash is 59 miles away there is no source of the river in Cosby. London is 80 miles away, and the closest airports are East Midlands Airport (EMA) and Birmingham Airport (BHX) The village's name probably means 'farm/settlement of Cossa'. 'Farm/settlement of Kofsi' has also been suggested.

Blaby railway station was a railway station on the Birmingham to Peterborough Line that served Blaby in Leicestershire, England. The station was opened in 1864 by the South Leicestershire Railway, which was taken over by the London and North Western Railway in 1867. British Railways closed the station in 1968. In July 1914, local suffragettes Ellen Sheriff and Elizabeth Frisby, along with experienced arsonist Kitty Marion, armed with wood-shavings dipped in creosol (and an axe, to break in) trekked across a field in the middle of the night and burned the station down, causing £500-worth of damage.A campaign to re-open the station was launched in 2008. Preserved Bagnall fireless steam locomotive no. 2370 is being used to publicise the re-opening campaign.

Narborough Bog is an 8.5-hectare (21-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Narborough in Leicestershire. It is owned and managed by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust.This site has a large area of common reed on peat, and there is also wet woodland, dominated by crack willow. Natural England's citation for the site states that it is 'exceptionally rich' in species of butterflies and moths, including several locally uncommon species. In the south of the site there are two wet grazed meadows and more woodland.The entrance to the site is at the northern end of the local recreation ground, which is off Leicester Road.

All Saints' Church is a church in Blaby, Leicestershire. It is a Grade I listed building.
