Massnahmenzentrum Uitikon

Uitikon is a village and municipality in the district of Dietikon in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Besides the village of Uitikon itself, the municipality includes the villages of Waldegg and Ringlikon.

The Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL, German: Eidgenössische Forschungsanstalt für Wald, Schnee und Landschaft, French: Institut fédéral de recherches sur la forêt, la neige et le paysage) is a Swiss research institution, part of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain.Its scope of research includes "...changes to the terrestrial environment, and the use and protection of natural habitats and cultural landscapes."It is headquartered in Birmensdorf, Zürich and maintains a large office in Davos, home of the WSL's Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF). The SLF is responsible for producing a national avalanche bulletin twice daily during winter.From 1942 until 2019, the WSL owned and operated a research institute on the Weissfluhjoch mountain (2693 meters, 8835 ft) above Davos. It was mostly used to study avalanches.

The station is on the Uetliberg line, which is operated by the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU).The station is served by the following passenger trains: The station is connected, by PostAuto bus route 201, with the villages of Uitikon and Ringlikon. The bus operates two or three times per hour on Monday to Saturday.

Schlieren railway station is a railway station in Switzerland, situated in the municipality of Schlieren. The station is located on the Zurich to Olten main line and is a stop of the Zurich S-Bahn served by lines S11 and S12.The former Schlieren carriage works of the Schweizerische Wagons- und Aufzügefabrik AG Schlieren-Zürich were once situated adjacent to the station. The works closed in 1985, and the site is now partially occupied by a printing works for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

Dietikon District is a district of the Swiss canton of Zürich. The capital of the district of Dietikon is the city of Dietikon, located in the Limmat Valley (German: Limmattal). Dietikon District was created in 1989 by splitting the former Zürich District into three parts. The western part became the Dietikon District, the eastern part became the district (respectively city) of Zürich and the municipality of Zollikon (located east of Zürich) was integrated into the Meilen District.

Ringlikon is a railway station situated near the village of Ringlikon in the municipality of Uitikon in Switzerland. The station is on the Uetliberg line, which is operated by the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU).The station is served by the following passenger trains: The station has a passing loop and two side platforms, and has no station buildings. Ringlikon village, which is some 700 m (2,300 ft) distant and 50 m (160 ft) lower, is linked to the station by a footpath.
