Stare Górce

Bemowo is a metro station on the western part of Line M2 of the Warsaw Metro. It is located in the vicinity of Górczewska and Powstańców Śląskich streets, in Bemowo district.

Lazurowa is a future metro station on the western part of Line M2 of the Warsaw Metro. It is located in the vicinity of Górczewska and Lazurowa streets, in the Bemowo district. The opening of the station is planned for 2026.The station will form an important public transport hub together with the nearby bus and tram stops „Osiedle Górczewska”. It will form a quicker connection between the city centre and the city’s western suburbs.

The Górczewska Park is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland. The park is located in the neighbourhood of Jelonki Północne, within the district of Bemowo, between Lazurowa Street, Czuma Street, and Powstańców Śląskich Street, around the residencial neighbourhood of Górczewska. The park was opened in 1980.

Górce is a neighbourhood and City Information System area in the Bemowo district of Warsaw, Poland. It is a high-rise residential area dominated by apartment buildings. The neighbourhood features the Bemowo station of the M2 line of the Warsaw Metro rapid transit underground system. Górce was founded prior to the 15th century, as a small farming community. It suffered significant damage from the Swedish army during the Second Northern War, recovering in the 17th century, and further developing in the 18th century. Between the 1920s and 1940s, the village became a suburb of Warsaw, with the development of single-family detached homes, and was incorporated into the city in 1951. In the 1980s, the housing estates of apartment buildings began being developed in the area.

Górczewska is a neighbourhood in the Bemowo district of Warsaw, Poland. It is a housing estate with mid- and high-rise apartment buildings, located between Górczewska, Powstańców Śląskich, Czułchowska, and Lazurowa Streets, within the City Information System area of Jelonki Północne. It includes the Górczewska Park in its centre, and features two stations of the Warsaw Metro, Bemowo and Lazurowa. The neighbourhood was constructed between 1976 and 1981.

The Sándor Petőfi Memorial (Hungarian: [ˈʃaːndor ˈpɛtøːfi]; Polish: Pomnik Sándora Petőfiego; Hungarian: Petőfi Sándor szobor) is a monument in Warsaw, Poland, placed in the Górczewska Park, within the Bemowo district. It consists of a bust sculpture of Sándor Petőfi, a 19th-century poet and liberal revolutionary, who was one of the key figures of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. It was designed by Jerzy Teper, and unveiled on 14 March 2013.

Boernerowo is a neighbourhood in the Warsaw's borough of Bemowo. Initially the spot was occupied by a small village called Babice, with an eponymous fort located in its centre. In early 1920s the area surrounding the fort was bought by the Polish state and in 1922 the Ministry of Post and Telegraphs started the construction of the Transatlantic Radio Station. As the radio station did not occupy the entire terrain, in 1932 minister Ignacy Boerner ordered a construction of a housing area to accommodate the workers of the radio station, as well as other people working in communications industry in the nearby city of Warsaw. The settlement grew and in 1936 it was named after its founder. After the World War II the area was taken over by the Polish Army who constructed there the Babice Airfield that was to replace the destroyed Bielany Airfield, and a large university complex of the Military Technical Academy. In 1951 the area was incorporated into the borough of Wola and then in 1994 into the borough of Bemowo.

Jelonki Północne (North Jelonki) is a neighbourhood, and a City Information System area, in the Bemowo district of Warsaw, Poland. It is a mixed residential area with low-rise single-family neighbourhoods of Stare Jelonki and Friendship Estate, and the high-rise multifamily housing estate of Górczewska. It includes the Górczewska Park, and features two stations of the Warsaw Metro, Bemowo and Lazurowa, as well as the Warszawa Jelonki railway station. It forms a northern portion of the area of Jelonki. Jelonki was founded in the 19th century at a small farming community. In the 1920s, its land was partitioned, and the village was developed as a garden suburb. It was incorporated into Warsaw in 1951. In 1952, the Frienship Estate, a neighbourhood of wooden houses, was built within its current boundaries, originally providing accommodation for Soviet migrant labourers, and after 1955, for university students and teachers. In the 1970s and 1980s, the housing estate of Górczewska with mid- and high-rise apartment buildings was constructed, within its boundaries.

The Józef Bem Memorial (Polish: Pomnik Józefa Bema) is a monument in Warsaw, Poland, within the Bemowo district, placed in front of its town hall, at 70 Powstańców Śląskich 70, and at the corner with Górczewska Street. It is dedicated to Józef Bem, an 18th- and 19th-century engineer and military officer, and veteran of the November Uprising, who is the namesake of the city district. The monument consists of his bronze bust sculpture, placed on a tall pedestal The bust was sculptured by Ferdynand Jarocha in 1996, and the monument was unveiled in front of the town hall in 2003.

Military University of Technology (MUT, Polish: Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna im. Jarosława Dąbrowskiego – WAT) is the civil-military technical academic institution in Poland, located at Bemowo, Warsaw. It was established in 1951. The university's rector-commander is płk. Przemysław Wachulak. The university is supervised by the Minister of National Defence of Poland and conducts scientific research for the needs of Polish Armed Forces. Currently the university educates almost 10,000 students. The staff consists of about 1,000 employees, including 220 professors.University leads both military and civilian studies. Military graduates receive not only professional title of magister inżynier, but are also promoted to military rank of podporucznik (second lieutenant). Formally being professional soldiers, military students attend school on the principles of ordinary military service. They are quartered in military dormitories and attend a variety of different military trainings and lectures. After graduating, they are formally obliged to serve in Polish Armed Forces under threat of reimbursement of education costs. Only Polish citizens are eligible for military studies.Contrary to military students, civilian ones can study normally, without any commitments to the Ministry of National Defence. Civilian studies allow to obtain professional titles such as: inżynier or licencjat (first cycle studies), magister inżynier or magister (second cycle studies) and a scientific degree of doktor. Due to changes in Polish law, since October 2019, separate Doctoral School operates in the structure of MUT. Full-time studies are free, extramural studies are payable.Obviously, scientific research conducted in MUT focus on issues connected with military and national defense. MUT was the place where in 1963 first Polish laser was created. In 1964 analog computer ELWAT (later produced by Elwro in Wrocław) was also created in MUT. One of the biggest contemporary projects which was developed at the university was so-called Modular Firearm System, 5.56 mm MSBS rifle, currently manufactured and further developed by FB "Łucznik" Radom. The rifle is to become the next main service rifle of the Polish Armed Forces.

Nowe Górce (New Górce) is a neighbourhood in the Bemowo district of Warsaw, Poland, in the eastern side of the City Information System area of Górce. It is a high-rise residential area dominated by apartment buildings. The neighbourhood features the Bemowo station of the M2 line of the Warsaw Metro rapid transit underground system. Górce was founded prior to the 15th century, as a small farming community. It suffered significant damage from the Swedish army during the Second Northern War, recovering in the 17th century, and further developing in the 18th century. Between the 1920s and 1940s, the village became a suburb of Warsaw, with the development of single-family detached homes, and was incorporated into the city in 1951. In the 1980s, the area was crossed by Powstańców Śląskich Street, cutting it into two neighbourhoods, Stare Górce to the west, and Nowe Górce to the east. It began being developed with the housing estates of apartment buildings.
