St Lawrence House

St John on the Wall in Bristol is a historic church in the care of heritage charity The Churches Conservation Trust. The upper church and its medieval vaulted crypt is located at the lower end of Broad Street and is built into the old city's medieval walls.

Electricity House, formerly known as West Gate, is a Grade II-listed Art Deco building at the former junction of Rupert Street and Quay Street in central Bristol, England. Designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, it was constructed between 1935 and 1937 for the Bristol Corporation Electricity Department, but was not fully completed or occupied until 1948 due to wartime requisitioning. Electricity House has since been converted into a residential building following redevelopment in 2016.

Bristol Guildhall is a municipal building in Broad Street, Bristol, England. It is a Grade II* listed building. It was built in the 1840s on the site of the previous guildhall and used as a courthouse from the 1860s to 1993. Various plans for its use as an art gallery and hotel were then proposed. In March 2020 it was damaged by a fire which led to its roof collapsing.

The Bristol Crown Court is a Crown Court venue which deals with criminal cases at Small Street in Bristol, England. The building, which was completed in 1868, was previously used as a main post office before it was converted for judicial use in the early 1990s.

The Former Bank of England (grid reference ST592733) is a historic building at 13/14 Broad Street in Bristol, England. It was built as the site of a branch of The Bank of England.It was built in 1844-47 by Charles Robert Cockerell with a Doric pseudo-portico of three bays recessed between low pavilions: the attic storey is arcaded with a triangular pediment .It has been designated by Historic England as a Grade I listed building.The building is now used as the Bristol Citizens Advice Bureau.

The Commercial Rooms (grid reference ST587729) are in Corn Street, Bristol, England. Built in 1810 by Charles Busby, the building has sculpture by J. G. Bubb. Originally it housed a club for mercantile interests and during the mid-19th century it was a haunt of local prostitutes. The retained wind vane above the bar would let merchants know whether it was safe for their ships to negotiate the treacherous Avon Gorge, and the wall boards still contain the names of all the club's presidents, treasurers and secretaries. It is now a pub owned by Wetherspoons.

Christ Church with St Ewen (grid reference ST588730) is a Church of England parish church in Broad Street, Bristol, England. Christ Church was built between 1786 and 1791. The tower appears to have been designed by Thomas Paty who was architect to the vestry, and the body of the church by his son William, and built by Thomas Paty and Sons, replacing a medieval one. The entrance and refurbished interior are by Henry Williams in 1883. The building was restored by Priest-in-charge Rev. G. S. Zimmern in 1973. On the tower quarter-boy figures strike the quarter hours on the Automaton clock. It has been designated as a Grade II* listed building.

The Former Everard's Printing Works (grid reference ST588730) is at 37-38 Broad Street in Bristol, England. It has been designated as a Grade II* listed building.It was built in 1900 by Henry Williams, with the Modern Style (British Art Nouveau style) facade by W.J. Neatby, who was the chief designer for Doulton and Co., as the main works for the printer Edward Everard. It has a triple archway design on the ground floor with two on the first floor and four on the upper floor. Above them is a female figure holding a lamp and a mirror symbolising Light and Truth. The arches were to reflect the Church of St John the Baptist a little further along Broad Street.Most of the red brick building was demolished in 1970 but the Modern Style facade was preserved as it is the largest decorative Doulton Carrara ware tile facade of its kind in Britain (so named from its resemblance to Carrara marble). The contributions of William Morris and Johannes Gutenberg to printing and literature are celebrated in the design. Behind each figure are typefaces representing their work. After the demolition of the rest of the building the facade was incorporated into a new building which was used as offices by the NatWest bank. It was later converted to be the Clayton Hotel, which opened in 2022.

Fusion Tower, formerly known as Froomsgate House, is a 63 m (207 ft) high student accommodation building in central Bristol, England, situated at the junction of Rupert Street with Lewin's Mead.

St Bartholomew's Hospital is the site of a medieval monastery hospital at the bottom of Christmas Steps, in Lewin's Mead, Bristol, England. It has been designated as a grade II* listed building.The building incorporates an arcade of arches from a 12th-century town house. The round piers predate the hospital, and may come from an aisled hall, the earliest remains of domestic architecture in the city, which was then adapted to form the hospital chapel. It was incorporated into a monastery hospital, similar to an almshouse, founded in 1240 by Sir John la Warr, 2nd Baron De La Warr (c. 1277–1347) who gave land in Horfield for the upkeep of the hospital. In 1291 he made a bequest of one hundred marks for the monks to chart in his memory and that of his relatives. The hospital served the poor of the city and travellers including seamen from Bristol Harbour. Separate male and female dormitories existed by the early 14th century but males were evicted by Eleanor the Prioress in 1330. The decision were reverted by the Bishop of Worcester is 1386. The Fraternity of St. Clement was established at the hospital in 1445, funded by a levy on ships in the harbour, with a specific responsibility for 12 sailors.Masters of the Hospital of St Bartholomew 1403: Bautre, John After the Dissolution of the Monasteries it was bought by Robert Thorne, the local member of parliament and became Bristol Grammar School from 1532 to 1767, with the current front of the building being constructed in the 17th century. It has a jettied first floor. It was used as Queen Elizabeth's Hospital from 1767 to 1847. Three 17th-century town houses were then incorporated into model workers' flats around a courtyard in 1865, and converted to offices in 1978. In the 1970s an archaeological excavation and search of documentary evidence of the site was carried out. 30 skeletons were uncovered which showed a range of fractures and infections indicating the sorts of conditions the hospital is likely to have treated.

Greyfriars is the alternate name of a fourteen-story office block built in 1974 in Lewin's Mead in Bristol. It was later used for government offices.The building takes its name from Greyfriars, a medieval Franciscan friary which historically occupied the site. Greyfriars was renovated in 2014 and rebranded as Number One Bristol. Two office buildings, Greyfriars and a smaller building nearby on the same block, were converted to a mix of 148 studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and were launched in the spring of 2016.

Broad Street, along with High Street, Wine Street and Corn Street, is one of the four original streets that have made up the city of Bristol since Saxon times, when it was the burgh of Brycgstow.Prior to the building of The Exchange merchants would set up their stalls on Broad Street. An old city gate stands at the bottom of the street, where it joins Quay Street.
