Sydney Freshwater Wetlands

The Botany Water Reserves are a heritage-listed former water supply system and now parkland and golf course at 1024 Botany Road, Mascot, Bayside Council, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by City Engineers, W. B. Rider, E. Bell (1856–1871), and Francis Bell (1871–1878). It is also known as Botany Dams, Botany Swamps, Botany Wetlands, Mill Stream, Bridge Pond, Lakes Golf Course, Eastlakes Golf Course, Bonnie Doon Golf Course, and Astrolabe Park. The property is owned by Sydney Water, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 18 November 1999.

Eastlakes is an inner southern and eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Eastlakes is located 8 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Bayside Council, Eastlakes is mostly residential with a shopping centre located at Evans Avenue. The residential portion of the suburb falls in the inner south being west of the Eastern Distributor while the non-residential side of the suburb consisting of The Lakes Golf Course and Botany Dams is east of the Eastern Distributor falling within the Eastern Suburbs, south-east of the CBD. There is a new shopping centre which opened in 2021 built across the road from the current shopping centre. Now that the new one is complete the current one will be redeveloped in the future. Golf courses also take up part of the suburb.

The Botany Sands Aquifer is an aquifer that surrounds Botany Bay just south of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. A former main water source for Sydney, it stretches from Centennial Park south east of Sydney CBD into Botany Bay to the south. The aquifer is chiefly filled by rainfall, some contributions from irrigation, seeping service mains and flow from the subjacent bedrock units.

Astrolabe Park is a 9.17-hectare (23-acre) public park in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Astrolabe Park is located south-east of Sydney CBD in the heritage suburb of Daceyville, and the park is also part of the heritage listed Botany Water Reserves.

Daceyville (formerly Dacey Garden Suburb) is a suburb in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Daceyville is 7 km south of the Sydney central business district and is now part of Bayside Council (formerly the City of Botany Bay). Daceyville is a quiet, leafy residential suburb, surrounded by the suburbs of Pagewood and Kingsford. The northern area of Pagewood was actually designed as part of the original Dacey Garden Suburb plan and is essentially an extension of Daceyville. In particular, many of the street layouts and park layouts in Pagewood remain unchanged from the original Dacey Garden Suburb plan. Daceyville features Australia's first cul-de-sac street on Colonel Braund Crescent. Cook Avenue and Banks Avenue in Daceyville are some of the most unique residential avenues in the surrounding area, with trees lining both the sides and (very unusually) the medians of the roads, in a similar style to that of Anzac Parade.

Hensley Athletic Field is primarily a track and field athletics field, home ground of the Randwick-Botany Little Athletics Club and the South Sydney Athletics Club, it is also used as a ground for association football in Sydney, Australia. The track was the first all weather synthetic athletics track in Australia when it was installed in 1973.It is now mainly used for school and association athletics, and association football and the NSW National Premier Leagues where it is the home ground for Dunbar Rovers NPL and Hakoah Sydney City East. The field has a capacity of 1,000 people.
