The Edna S. Purcell house (now known as the Purcell–Cutts House) was designed by the firm of Purcell, Feick and Elmslie for architect William Purcell and his family in 1913. It is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The dwelling is a notable example of Prairie School architecture, featuring a long, narrow floor plan that disregards Victorian concepts about room divisions. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It is now part of the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art and has been extensively restored. The museum conducts tours on the second weekend of every month.

The Dr. Oscar Owre House is a historic house located at 2625 Newton Venue South just north of Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was designed by notable local architects Purcell, Feick & Elmslie in the Prairie School style.

Temple Israel is a Reform Jewish synagogue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founded in 1878, it is the oldest synagogue in Minneapolis and one of the largest Jewish congregations in the United States.

Lake of the Isles (Dakota: Wíta Tópa, "Four Islands") is a lake in Minneapolis, Minnesota, connected to Cedar Lake and Bde Maka Ska. The lake is part of the city's Chain of Lakes and has an area of 109 acres (0.4 km2), 2.86 miles (4.6 km) of shoreline with a little under three miles of paved walking and biking paths, and a maximum depth of 31 feet (9 m). Lake of the Isles is known for its two wooded islands, its long north arm, and the surrounding stately houses of the Kenwood, Lowry Hill, and East Isles neighborhoods.

Calhoun-Isles is one of the official communities (a grouping of several official neighborhoods) in the U.S. city of Minneapolis. It contains the Uptown business district and the name "Uptown" is frequently (though somewhat incorrectly) used to refer to the entire community. The name of the community refers to its most prominent physical features, the large and publicly accessible lakes, Bde Maka Ska (previously known as "Lake Calhoun") and Lake of the Isles. Calhoun-Isles is an affluent part of the city, and people of upper middle class means and above, including young professionals and older millionaires, inhabit the community. The Uptown district is considered by many to be the nighttime playground of the young and trendy of the Twin Cities.

The Scottish Rite Temple, formerly the Fowler Methodist Episcopal Church, is a historic church building in the Lowry Hill neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. It was designed by architects Warren H. Hayes and Harry Wild Jones. The original portion, the rear chapel, was designed by Warren H. Hayes and built in 1894. When the congregation expanded and more funds were available, Harry Wild Jones designed an addition that expanded it to a much larger structure. This was completed in 1906.The Fowler congregation merged with the Hennepin Avenue Methodist Church in 1915, and the Scottish Rite Temple bought the building the next year. They made some modifications to the auditorium to accommodate Masonic rituals, but most of the original features were kept, including extensive use of stained glass. The exterior is built of hard quartzite from southwestern Minnesota, along with red sandstone trim. It has two massive towers, three arches over the entry porch, and a 24-foot-diameter (7.3 m) rose window. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

West High School (1908–1982) was a public high school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Edward Stebbins designed the school building. Built in 1908 on what had recently been farmland, the school had a student capacity of 1,600 by 1917. Minneapolis Public Schools closed Central, West and Marshall-University high schools in 1982.

The Kenwood Park Water Tower is an octagonal brick and stone water tower in the Kenwood neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. It was built in 1910 and designed by Frederick William Cappelen, the city of Minneapolis engineer at the time. The tower is 110 feet tall, making it the tallest structure in Kenwood. The tower has not been used to store water since 1954. The tower was built to alleviate water pressure and storage problems in the Lowry Hill area. Although the tower is not the work of a master architect or representative of a specific architectural style, its design is distinctive. It is ornamented with projecting ribs, narrow rectangular windows, and Lombard bands, suggesting a medieval fortress. The tower serves as a distinct visual focus within the neighborhood.The Kenwood Park Water Tower is one of three stone water towers built in Minneapolis during the early 20th century. The others are Washburn Park Water Tower in 'Tangletown' and Prospect Park Water Tower in southeast Minneapolis.

The Charles J. Martin House is a house in the Lowry Hill neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The 1903 Renaissance Revival mansion and its grounds are a well-preserved example of an early-20th-century urban estate. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 for having local significance in architecture.The house was built for Charles J. Martin. He served for many years as the secretary and treasurer of the Washburn-Crosby Company, a predecessor of General Mills. Martin also promoted civic causes such as city parks, libraries, and art societies.The house was designed by prominent Minneapolis architect William Channing Whitney in the Renaissance Revival style, which was popular for large urban residences at the beginning of the 20th century. The house has been well preserved and well maintained.

The Elizabeth C. Quinlan House is a historic residence located in the Lowry Hill neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Designed in an eclectic take on the Renaissance Revival style, it was built in 1925 by Frederick L. Ackerman for Elizabeth Quinlan. Quinlan had helped found one of the first women's clothing shops in Minneapolis in 1894 and had gone on to enjoy great success in the apparel business.Built at a cost of $47,000 (equivalent to $743,148 in 2021), the L-shaped three story home features details such as stucco walls with quoining, terra cotta roofing and decorative ironwork (including work from Samuel Yellin). The home features architectural similarities to Quinlan's store, the Young–Quinlan Building, which was also designed by Ackerman in a similar style and completed one year later in 1926.: 3, 9, 14–15 Quinlan lived in the home from 1925 until her death in 1947. The home was then passed on to her relatives and remains privately owned today. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 as an excellent example of the 1920s eclectic architectural style and of Frederick Ackerman's work.: 6, 9 

Kenwood is a neighborhood within the Calhoun-Isles community in Minneapolis along Lake of the Isles. The neighborhood is one of the most affluent in the city along with the nearby Lowry Hill neighborhood. The Kenwood neighborhood's most notable feature is the many historic mansions along the parkways overlooking the lake and the downtown skyline.Its boundaries are Cedar Lake Parkway to the west, Kenwood Parkway to the north, West Lake of the Isles Parkway to the east, and Kenilworth Place to the south.

Walker Library is a public library in the East Isles neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. It is on Hennepin Avenue one block north of Lake Street, adjoining the Midtown Greenway. Walker and the 14 other libraries of Minneapolis Public Library were merged into the combined urban/suburban Hennepin County Library in 2008.
