Royal Domain of Laeken

The Palace of Laeken or Castle of Laeken (French: Château de Laeken, Dutch: Kasteel van Laken) is the official residence of the King of the Belgians and the Belgian Royal Family. It lies in the Brussels-Capital Region, 5 km (3 mi) north of the city centre, in Laeken (part of the City of Brussels), and sits in a large private park called the Royal Domain of Laeken. The palace was built between 1782 and 1784 for the Governors of the Habsburg Netherlands, and was originally named the Palace of Schonenberg. It was partly destroyed by fire in 1890, after which it was rebuilt and extended. Significant modifications were undertaken at the beginning of the 20th century during the reign of King Leopold II. Nowadays, it is often referred to as the Royal Palace of Laeken or Royal Castle of Laeken.The Palace of Laeken should not be confused with the Royal Palace of Brussels, in central Brussels, which is the official palace (not residence) of the King of the Belgians and from which state affairs are handled. It is served by Stuyvenbergh metro station on line 6 of the Brussels Metro.

The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken (French: Serres Royales de Laeken, Dutch: Koninklijke Serres van Laken) are a vast complex of monumental heated greenhouses in the park of the Royal Palace of Laeken (northern part of the City of Brussels), Belgium. The historic complex contains tropical, subtropical and cold greenhouses.The greenhouses were designed and built by Alphonse Balat on behalf of King Leopold II. They are now part of the Royal Domain and the royal private gardens belonging to the Belgian Royal Family, and are accessible to the public only a few days a year. This site is served by Stuyvenbergh metro station on line 6 of the Brussels Metro.

The Japanese Tower (French: Tour japonaise, Dutch: Japanse Toren) is a Japanese pagoda located in Laeken, City of Brussels, Belgium. The five-story tall pagoda measures nearly 50 metres (160 ft) in height, and is part of the Museums of the Far East three-museum complex. It was built by order of King Leopold II, between 1900 and 1904. The tower has a combination of decoration and architecture that only a few places in Japan have, and is considered of "genuine historical interest in both Belgium and Japan". The tower was temporarily closed for renovation in 2013, and as of 2022, it is still closed to the public.

The Museums of the Far East (French: Musées d'Extrême-Orient, Dutch: Musea van het Verre Oosten) is a complex of three museums in Laeken, City of Brussels, Belgium, dedicated to Oriental art and culture, specifically that of China and Japan. It is part of the Royal Museums of Art and History (RMAH). The three museums have been closed since 2013 because of structural weaknesses. Some items from their collections are on public display at the Art & History Museum.

Belvédère Castle (French: Château du Belvédère; Dutch: Kasteel Belvédère) is a Belgian royal residence in Laeken, Belgium, which currently houses Albert II of Belgium and his wife, Queen Paola of Belgium.

The Monument to the Dynasty (French: Monument à la Dynastie, Dutch: Monument voor de Dynastie) is a monument erected in Brussels, Belgium, in memory of King Leopold I, first King of the Belgians. The monument is located in Laeken Park, on the Place de la Dynastie/Vorstenhuisplein, on top of a 50-metre-high (160 ft) hill. It completes the monumental axis, which starts from the portal of the Royal Palace of Laeken, and which leads to the monument after crossing the Avenue du Parc Royal/Koninklijk Parklaan via the Avenue de la Dynastie/Vorstenhuislaan.

The European School, Brussels IV is one of the thirteen European Schools, and the fourth to be established within the city of Brussels, home to many European Union (EU) institutions. Opened in 2007, the school was initially based in the Brussels municipality of Forest, before moving to its purpose built campus in Laeken in 2012. The school combines nursery, primary and secondary education, with around 3,000 students enrolled at the start of the 2020–2021 academic year, spread over eight language sections (English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Bulgarian (up to the fifth year of secondary), Romanian (up to the fourth year of secondary) and Estonian (up to the fifth year of primary). The school prioritises the children of European Union (EU) staff for enrolment purposes, with others able to enrol provided there is capacity. Transport links to the school campus include Bockstael Station, which provides metro and suburban rail services.

The Church of Our Lady of Laeken (French: Église Notre-Dame de Laeken; Dutch: Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk van Laken) is a neo-Gothic Roman Catholic church in Laeken, Brussels, Belgium. It was originally built in memory of Queen Louise-Marie, wife of King Leopold I to the design of architect Joseph Poelaert. Louise-Marie died in Ostend in 1850 and wished to be buried in Laeken. The nearby Royal Castle of Laeken was, and still is, the royal residence. Leopold I wished the church to be constructed in her memory and as a mausoleum for her. The architect Joseph Poelaert was chosen to design the new church. (He later became best known for the Law Courts of Brussels.) Pope Pius XI crowned the venerated Marian image within on 17 May 1936 in the presence of the King Leopold III of Belgium and his royal heirs. This image of the Blessed Virgin Mary became the source for the image of Our Lady of China, crowned by Pope Francis on 19 February 2021.

The Royal Crypt lies underneath the Church of Our Lady in Laeken, Brussels (Belgium). It is the official burial place of the Belgian royal family. Several members of the family are buried elsewhere, however, due to their marriage with foreign royalty or nobility.

It belongs to the municipality of the City of Brussels and is mostly identified by the Belgian postal code: 1020. Prior to 1921, it was a separate municipality.

Laeken Cemetery (French: Cimetière de Laeken, Dutch: Begraafplaats van Laken) in Brussels (Belgium) is the city's oldest cemetery still in function and the resting place of the Belgian Royal Family. It is known as the Belgian Père Lachaise, after Paris' notorious cemetery, because it is the burial place of the rich and the famous and for the abundance of its funerary heritage.

The N260 is a regional road in Belgium between Grimbergen/Vilvoorde (N211a) and Brussels (N277a) where the road changes into the N260a. The road has a length of about 9 kilometers. The N260a continues from the N277a along the Brussels-Schelde Sea Canal to the R20a/b. This part of the road is about 1.9 kilometers. The N260b is a connection between the N260a and the N201 via the Redersbrug that crosses the Brussels-Scheldt Sea Canal. This road has a length of about 250 meters.
