Lafayette History Museum

The Lewis House is a historic miner’s residence located at 108 East Simpson Street in Lafayette, Colorado. Built in the 1890s at the Gladstone Mine near Lafayette, the house was later moved into town between 1910 and 1913. It is an intact example of coal-era miners’ housing and is associated with the Lewis family, who lived there from 1913 until 1975. The structure now serves as the Lafayette History Museum.

WOW! Children's Museum, formally World of Wonder, is an interactive children's museum located in Lafayette, Colorado geared toward children under 12. It was founded in 1996 by Lisa and Dario Attallah and in 2004 moved to Lafayette from Louisville. A 2019 expansion allowed for the addition of an outdoor programming space. The museum schedules designated sensory friendly events for children with autism or sensory processing disorder, including a sensory room.In 2015, it was named among the top 25 children's museums in the United States by the Early Childhood Education Zone, welcomed its millionth visitor, and was on track for its highest annual attendance.

The Kullgren House is a historic residence located at 209 East Cleveland Street in Lafayette, Colorado. Built in 1896, the house served as a private residence and boarding house for coal miners and later school teachers. It remains as one of the best preserved examples of the residential architecture typical of the thriving element of Lafayette. It is associated with Andrew Kullgren, who lived in the home from 1896 to 1919.

The Congregational Church at 300 E. Simpson St. in Lafayette, Colorado was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1983 as part of a multiple property submission, the Lafayette Coal Mining Era Buildings TR. It has served as a church, meeting hall, hospital, and library. It has been restored and remodeled for use as the Mary Miller Theater, home of the Theater Company of Lafayette.

The Miller House was built by Lafayette, Colorado's town founder Mary Miller. Miller arrived in Colorado in 1863 and after discovering coal on her land, she opened a mine and in 1888 established the coal town of Lafayette. She made charitable donations to coal mining families and the town. The Miller House was built in the late 1880s in the center of the original 150-acre townsite. She operated a school in her house on East Cleveland Street until she established the town's first school.The house maintains its original appears, aside from the application of siding. The house is historically significant to the town for Miller's role as "the founder of the community, who was also responsible as well for the development of the coal industry in Lafayette." The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 20, 1983.

Built in 1900, the house opened as a boarding house for coal miners working in nearby mines. The structure now serves as a private residence. It is located at the southeast corner of East Simpson Street and South Finch Avenue.
